if you know someone in Florida that you really trust, just ask them to put their electric bill in your name. That’s all you need to get state resident passes iirc
Yeah makes sense. We are leaning towards out of state AP. Going the first week of April and planning to go the last week of March next year so it looks like we'd save a little going the AP route, not even taking into consideration the other AP discounts. Then we can probably sneak in a shorter fall trip to see if decorated for Halloween. As always with Disney, this has escalated quickly. We are just in that prime era for it with 3 kids under 10.
The hidden (or not so hidden) AP advantage for out of towners is the partial days at the parks on day of arrival and departure. Get it at 4pm? No big deal. Go get dinner at Epcot and do a ride or two before going back to the hotel. Flights home at 3? Rope drop flight of passage or tron and get breakfast at the park. we always do an early flight in and a late flight home (with a day off the next day for a break from vacation lol). on top of that, when you have the AP you just don’t feel that same pressure to ride every ride or spend every minute at the parks because you can come and go as you please to an extent. As long as you go 2 or more times in a year it’s worth it.
So the Snow White release went even worse than expected. Not really ideal for a company that has been struggling in the theatre lately.
I’ve totally avoided that situation- what’s all the fuss about? side note- Snow White (original) is unquestionably the worst Disney princess movie and probably worst of the big releases.
Lilo and stitch is going to overcome all of it. controversy aside I just don’t think Snow White is that interesting to most people compared to all the other princess movies.
There’s been dumbfucks about Rachel Ziegler’s race and also at the the end of the day, just wasn’t the appetite for this movie. If Lilo & Stitch bombs, then Disney has some big problems because I see that merch everywhere even with toddlers.
Been a lot more than that. Ziegler’s comments regarding the original and Peter Dinklage pulling the ladder up behind him and causing a bunch of controversy about the Dwarves that Disney caved to certainly didn’t help.
I think it's more that people just don't care about Snow White and it wasn't marketed well enough to overcome that. I don't feel like doing the research, but I have a feeling all of the live action movies from Disney's Renaissance Age have outperformed the ones from their Golden Age. The originals were largely better and came out when the current population with kids and spending power were growing up. Edit: ok I googled. With the exception of Jungle Book squeaking by Aladdin domestically (Aladdin won globally), they have. Mulan was released during Covid, but I have a feeling it would have been top 3.
sir it's the racists online it has a fucking 2.2 on IMDB it's just a bunch of incel fucks review bombing it
having said all of that, I will not watch it but that's bc I am not watching any of the live action slop
Gotta be exhausting waking up everyday, putting on your red cap, and looking for something to make you angry.
My kids are so damn excited. Already talking about taking their stitch stuffies to see it. and don’t underestimate the adult stitch contingent. He’s like the millennial’s Mickey Mouse. I’m legit looking forward to seeing it after seeing the trailer.
Way to humble brag about having sex on the regular. Shockingly a movie I’ve never seen all the way through. Nothing against it. Just never sat down and watched the movie.
Just had a week at WDW for a medical conference with 5 days at the grand Floridian, followed by two nights at the Poly for my birthday weekend. I already wish I were back on property. The vibes just aren’t the same in the real world
Guardians Breakout > Tower of Terror but I’m not sure your ever get rid of ToT. and cosmic rewind > breakout
Real play would be a meeting of the dads before the trip to layout LL times and a overall park gameplans.
No. You’re slinging your hand forward without a physical thing. It’s closer (but much better tech) to the legoland ninjago ride
So I’ve been tasked with maybe trying to find a place to stay for my family plus a set of grandparents. What is the deal with renting DVC points? Like how do you do it? first google result is David’s DVC Rental site. Is it as easy as just reserving through there? Looking at something we can all stay in. Maybe even Vero Beach.
Pretty much nailed it. Haven’t been to the vero property in about 25 years. Not a bad place for a beach weekend but unless it’s been massively upgraded there are a lot better options out there.
Flew down yesterday. Had one of those travel days where every flight is fucked. Delayed 7 hours, drove to different airport, that flight delayed, rebook, another delay, finally got to Orlando a few hours late with no bags. Bought a couple articles of clothing but going to do Magic Kingdom today still without our stuff. If it doesn’t arrive today we’re royally fucked because we leave on the cruise tomorrow.
Start bitching to the airline. They should give you a credit for clothes. Head over to the outlet mall and buy new stuff. All you can really do. Also. AirTag in luggage
We bought some new clothes and are going to be reimbursed. In Magic Kingdom now but the hotel confirmed all of our bags have been dropped off there. Whew.
Rope dropped TRON, that was fun but needs to be 30 seconds or so longer at least. Tiana’s really didn’t add anything to Splash Mountain. Just a rebrand.
That is one of the two complaints I have for Tron. The other one is putting a covering at the end of the tunnel where it shoots you out. You are waiting in line for the ride and immersed into the grid. Then you hop on the ride and immediately can see out into daylight right in front of you.
Tron is way too short, which is ashame because it could be a really great ride. As is its fine but often not worth the wait.
Haven't done lighthouse yet, but I know that walk from the pier is rough. Be ready to grab a wagon if you have kids.
Ideal itinerary for me. Would much rather go there than be dropped off by shops, etc or have to pay $100 a person to go to a beach. granted, went to an AMAZING beach at Jost Van Dyke. Just expensive.
I think the walk is longer to the beach at castaway if you don’t take a tram. Not sure if that’s accurate or not, but it felt longer to me in February and we were there back-to-back days.
This is right. The walk is not bad at all, it just feels really long because there's nothing to look at
fast passes were needed. great day: Iron Gwazi x2 Cheetah Hunt x4 Montu x4 Skyride Tigris Serengeti Express Train ride Cobras Curse Phoenix Rising Stanley Falls Flume SheiKra Zambia Smokehouse Dipping dots Oasis Pizza Giraffe Bar
Went to Lighthouse in February. Walk wasn’t bad at all. Normally my 7 year old complains about long walks when arriving/leaving but she was perfectly fine. The walk back was also nice for my wife and I because there was a bar right before you get back on the walkway. Grabbed a few Kaliks and enjoyed the views. Also, we liked Lighthouse better than Castaway. The beach was fantastic and big enough that we could get away from everyone. And it didn’t seem like we were as far away from the tram as you are at Castaway.
The Skyride was open?!?!?! You lucky bastard! It was closed for like 5 years only to open for a month or so, then close again. Also, I don't know how you ride coasters that many times and not lose your lunch. I can do a couple of them one time. I ride Montu once and my day is over.
My wife just spent $100 to have a case of water sent to our room. She had no idea what she was purchasing she just can’t tell people no. So we just spent $100 on water on an all inclusive cruise.
