Finally listened enough to chime in on the new album. I'd agree with most of you, very meh. The classic Weeknd baby-makin songs we are used to were all the best songs on the album, but songs like "As You Are" and "Angel" damn near ruined the entire album for me.
I had heard so much about him that I finally decided to give him a listen. Haven't heard any of his other albums.
Video is 7 months old but it just came up on spotify for me. Sounds more like the old(er) stuff to me. SIAP.
I forgot about 'or nah' and when that come on I had the biggest smile on my face. Great to see 17 yr olds with their mom jamming out to that :/
Album is out. Haven't listened to it all the way through, seems okay, but I still really miss Trilogy Weeknd.
Enjoyed all six songs, but I appreciate the fact he released an EP alone to tell Bella Hadid she could still get the d
Undoubtedly good for others, but I hate it. I immensely appreciate his talent and what he's done either way.
I liked it as a total album listen through. Although no single track really stands up on its own and the "hit" songs are too pop-y imo. 'Is There Someone Else?' into 'Starry Eyes' is good shit. Also Jim Carrey's 'Phantom Regret' poem is a magnificent end to the album.
He’s really sinking into that 80s Prague rock genre (don’t know what else to call it). Which is fine, just in small doses. Got about half way through the album
had tickets to his opening US show in April 2020, COVID ruined that Finally saw him perform at Mile High last week, awesome show
going through the thread, found this on the first page Guy hasn't posted in 10 years so I'm sure he won't mind. Wild sentence here.
