Re: The Wire that scene also i liked mcnulty talking about community policing in season 1. i just wrote a 12 page paper on community policing dantonio polices his team with an iron fist
Re: The Wire Yeah, the look in Marlo's eyes as that episode closed was like a fucking shark's. As cold as a motherfucker will ever be.
Re: The Wire Love that scene cuz Monk was hardcore all season but looked crazy shook of Chris and Marlo
Re: The Wire This thread is great. I just finished watching this show a couple months ago (took me under 3 wks to watch all 60 eps) and I already want to watch again after reading this shit. I think we can quit with the spoilers though. McNulty's wake needs to be brought up as well. Fucking amazing way to end.
Re: The Wire looking back on this scene. you could see kennard was going to end being the one *spoiler below* Spoiler to kill omar The Wire- Omar Visits Michael dantonio hopes to one day help inner city kids from a life of drug dealing
Re: The Wire Just finished watching season 5, like most in a little over 3 weeks on the weekends and after studying/work. I almost feel like I watched it too fast and wasn't able to digest and enjoy every episode, since I watched several back to back. I'm definitely looking forward to watching the entire season over again. I wonder if the DVD series has special voice overs and features - I would definitely drop dough for it. goat show.
Re: The Wire it does have commentaries and behind the scenes stuff fwiw. Ebay always the box set cheap as hell, was where I bought my set.
Re: The Wire Box set is one of the best purchases I've ever made. GOAT show but that's kinda obvious...good to see Bubbles getting some work on Fringe tonight.
Re: The Wire It took me about over a year to watch all 5 seasons thanks to my work load throughout college, but I finally finished it about a month or so ago and it is easily the best show I have ever seen. Unfortunately right now I am do I can't post exactly what I want to but thats ok because most of it is already posted. Best show ever, and it sucks that I now know that no show will ever live up to what I have already seen.
Re: The Wire Just copped the box set on ebay for $82 plus $20 shipping/handling. Good deal? I've already watched the series but felt like I needed the box set to fully appreciate it.
Re: The Wire one of the only things that i would ever consider actually buying instead of downloading, just for the bonus features, etc.
Re: The Wire I'd say about 75% of people who've seen the show think 4 is the greatest. Personally I think Season 4 is the best season of television I've ever seen. Its also the most invested I've ever been in a show and also the most emotional.
Re: The Wire I wasn't hooked until episode 3 I think. Once you start to connect with the characters and get into the case you are hooked.
Re: The Wire Yea the characters had to develop a little before I could really connect. Once you do just be prepared for a non-stop marathon of nothing but watching.
Re: The Wire NO! Honestly don't start it expecting to love it right away. It may honestly take up until halfway through the first season before you get hooked. The show moves very slowly and takes its time and its so different from the pace of other shows that you may not feel it right away but once the storys start unraveling and you really learn the characters then you'll really get into it. Also remember this once you start Season 2.
Re: The Wire It definitely unfolds like a well written novel, takes time to develop a connection to the characters.
Re: The Wire Still the best show I have seen, although from what I hear The Wire probably supplants it.
Re: The Wire Just got done re-watching the first two seasons; forgot how underrated Season 2 was. Season 4 still my favorite.
