Same. Fixed. Dexter is a average show at this point. Nothing more, nothing less. Edit: Dammit, apparently if you hit enter a million times it still only keeps one space in between it. I moved it down like 20 spots fyi.
haha... yeah, i know.... cuz thats what I tried to do with it. It was not supposed to be so close to the other two.
And I was commenting in this thread before I watched season 4 of Breaking Bad. Easily the best of the season and it really made me love Brian, Jesse and Gus. Although I still stand by the fact that Badger and his faggit friends suck. I still think The Wire and The Sopranos are better but I would certainly put Breaking Bad on the same level.
Sopranos is great, don't get me wrong. But I don't think it's on the same level of The Wire and Breaking Bad tbqh. I'm in the process of re watching it right now and am in the final season. So many unnecessary storylines, so many plots stretched out, etc. There was a lot of fat with the show. Which is the exact opposition if The Wire and Breaking Bad. I feel like every scene meant something to the larger picture. Sopranos had random storylines with other characters where it was like "wtf, why are they even showing that?" Just my
Just finished the Wire and find it hard to believe BB having seen the 1st season already. Bodie/Omar are some of my favorite characters ever
Yeah I don't disagree with you but there is just something about Tony Soprano that I just fucking loved. Goodfellas, Casino and the Godfather were my favorite movies before I watched the series so I guess I've always really liked the mob genre. I became enamored with Tony's character while watching that show. I agree there is a lot of unnecesary parts of the series but to me the good outweighed the bad.
Tony is great, easily one of the best characters ever on TV. There are just certain parts that feel dumb/wasted/not needed. Plus, acting on The Wire/BB >>>>>>> Sopranos
Hey does everyone remember that couple of episodes before Gus Fring became a big player in the drug trade and he was like a contract assassin from New York City? I think they called him Brother Mouzone or something.
Has nothing to do with what they look like - just the demeanor and voice. Both very stiff, composed even when the tables are turned on them, never flustered. A little nerdy, but you know they are hard.
What's so ridiculous about it? The only thing I had a problem with was Gus' death, although I know why they did it that way.
How about the part where Don Eladio only 3-5 guards watching his entire mansion. He lives in Mexico and is the leader of the Juarez cartel and only has a couple guards watching his mansion.Especially considering the fact that a bunch of the capos were all meeting at the same place. Add to the fact that all his capo are meeting at one place with the greatest meth cook ever. Do they not think a rival cartel might try to take them out?
Nothing comes close to The Wire IMO. The more times I view it the more I can appreciate how ridiculously good it really was. I have seen every episode of Breaking Bad as well, it is great television. The Wire is transcendent television.
His capos are his guards. Plus there are more guards and staff inside the house and in the courtyard who flee after gus' speech
I didn't look that closely. I just imagine that the leader of drug cartel would have more guards watching his house than Lindsey Lohan does going to court.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and I'm not going to try and convince the Breaking Bad supporters to change their minds, but I think the large majority of people who have seen and appreciate both of these shows would lean towards The Wire.
LOL Give Sopranos credit for what it's done to TV the last decade. Without it, we wouldn't have gotten The Wire, Breaking Bad, etc. But The Sopranos was way too inconsistent, was filled with stupid ass storylines that went nowhere, and just flat out wasn't good at times. Plus the acting/writing on The Wire/Breaking Bad absolutely shits all over it.
It was only Gus, Mike, and Jesse and it's not like they could bring weapons to the meet. How many guards does one need to protect himself from 3 unarmed guys in foreign territory?
I prefer Breaking Bad...especially since they do what they do with content limitations. My favorite episode is the one where Walter Jr. eats cereal at the table.
Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot. Tony was such a good character. But it just doesn't hold up against these two shows.
They need to protect themselves from rival cartels especially that day since you know all the capos are meeting at one place along with the greatest meth cook ever.
i know what a fucking capo is. eladio uses them as his security detail and enforcement arm in addition to the guards he had at the house.
Jesse isn't the greatest meth cook ever and from what we know Don Eladio has been on top for a long time, so I doubt there are many rival cartels in the immediate area.
They thought Jesse was the one that made Gus's meth that is why I said he was the greatest meth cook ever.
I watched Breaking Bad first and just watched all of The Wire. Both are my favorite shows that I've seen in the past 2 years and it's hard to say which is better. But if I were to pick one to watch the whole way through again, I'd pick The Wire first. The Wire has far more better characters than Breaking Bad (besides Walt and Jesse). BB has other great characters too but The Wire has Stringer, Bodie, Bubbles, Chris and Snoop, Michael, Avon, McNulty, Omar, etc. Breaking Bad has awesome cliffhangers at the end; The Wire had its big events happen during the show and not at the end (so you never knew when to expect something crazy). Love both shows and anyone saying either one isn't that good is a moron. I can't wait for the final season of Breaking Bad. The one thing is they might have a better ending season than The Wire did.....so it's hard to make a final judgment at this point. And I think The Wire and Breaking Bad are better than the Sopranos.
yeah because we're not show in flashbacks that eladio can tell his capos to kill whomever he wants for him. they all probably rose to their positions by proving they had apt managerial abilities and not through violence or anything like that.
