If you are looking for one of the best RPGs ever made buy this game when it comes to the 360. I own this for PC, but the 360 version has added a lot more content. Every choice you make in this game affects the story line. Multiple endings and the final Act is not set in stone your choices decide whether you do one of multiple story lines and endings. This game is basically if Mass Effect and Skyrim had a baby that turned out to be a serial killer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwCXw8m0PHI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtJ7uXktqEg
Looks amazing. Will definitely check it out. But I'll have to play the first one too, is it on Xbox or just PC?
It is just for PC. If you have a recent laptop or PC you will be able to play it just fine. It does a great job of letting you know what happened in the first one, so that you won't be kept in the dark. I fully endorse this series both games have absolutely blown me away.
Here is the The Witcher 1 story, so y'all will be caught up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ostWRYiMTZ4
voice acting in the first game is pretty awkward so far i like the story and the gameplay though, plays pretty smooth considering i'm on a keyboard/trackpad not too far into it though, just left Kaer Morhen for Vizima or whatever its called. bit too busy to delve more than 30 minutes into it at a time.
Yeah but don't forget the game came out in 2007 and was made by a Polish gaming company. The game is based off a book series written by a Polish author named Andrzej Sapkowski. Glad you are enjoying it Irush.
You are in the outskirts of Vizima make sure to do the "She is no Early bird" quest. It leads to one of the funniest cutscenes in the game. After you progress a little bit in Chapter 1 you will see a woman named Vesna that is surrounded by bandits that want to rape her that will start the quest after you kill the bandits. Be warned if she dies which is very easy during her escort mission you won't be able to complete this side quest. Just bump this thread if you get stuck or need any help.
Gameplay wise TW1 and TW2 are different. In the TW1 you had 3 different styles you could use for combat: fast style, Group Style, and Strong Style and each was hot keyed to your keyboard or you could switch between the 3 with the tab key. You also had a steel blade for humans and a silver blade for monsters. When you attacked you would see a sword and if you clicked at the right time in the attack you would continue your combo. You could upgrade that to 5 to 6th combo and final strike. You could use axes, daggers, ect, but you also carried those two swords. You also had your signs which were your magic spells. In combat you could drink potions for quicker healing, endurance regeneration, or sometime like night eye or a strength potion, but be warned if you drink to many potions your toxicity level would go up. If you got more then 2/3 of your bar up you would be affected in strength, lose endurance, and lose health plus you would move slower. In TW2 you could tell they were grooming it for console. You have two attack styles: Strong and Fast. You also have bombs and other traps. Instead of potions during the fight you now drink them before the fight, but the blood toxicity is still there. TW2 plays kinda like Dark Souls with a 3rd person view, but it is a very unique combat system that is a challenge to master, and you definitely feel accomplished when you do. It is not a easy game, and if you just run story it will take 25-30 hours depending on difficulty. If you do everything there is to do in the game you could extend it by 50-100 hours.
If you have anymore questions feel free to hit me up on party chat or private chat on xbox live. XBM Bama I will answer anything you need to the best of my knowledge. I am actually restarting a playthrough, so I can help a buddy. I have it on Dark difficulty which is basically insane difficulty, but you can save. If you choose to do Insane difficulty be warned if you die your will lose all your save files. I found this out the hard way I played two hours into it and died at the end of the Prologue. I went to load back and it said all my save files were invalid. If you die you die for good on Insane. Enemies are stronger and have special enchantments which makes running away almost impossible. I was killed by a group of two of the weaker bandits. DON'T do this difficulty.
my really good friend and also the owner of my clan is getting this when it comes out. I have already been told I will be stripped of rank if it is a waste of money haha. I'm not scared if you like fantasy and a challenge then this game is for you.
Definitely on my radar....may wait a couple of weeks so I have time to play it. Or I may say fuck it and go get it today
My buddy just texted me to let me know he just got the game. Time to fire up the laptop, and see what ridiculous new add ons this extended edition brings.
that sucks man. I forgot how hard this game really is. It has been kicking my ass, and I'm only in Act 1
I've learned to save after I do almost literally anything and when music plays. The combat reminds me of Dark Souls, it's not as difficult, but you're still going to die a lot.
Definitely on harder difficulties saving after every battle is a must. It is basically Dark Souls and Mass Effect combined into one game.
There's definitely a learning curve as well. I also have no idea how to spec my guy, usually in a game like Skyrim I all but ignore the alchemy tree, but on here it looks like it might be something I need to focus on.
Yeah Alchemy and potion drinking are a huge part of this game. What difficulty are you on? I have it on Dark difficulty and if you don't drink potions before each fight and use your signs and traps correctly I can die in pretty much every fight. What is your gamertag?
Easy = Normal on ME Normal = Hard on ME. Hard= Insane of ME Dark= Dark Souls difficulty. Insane= Damn near impossible. 1 life for the entire 20+ hour game.
Playing on hard right now, thinking about dropping down to normal until I get a better feel for it. And yeah, I've started using potions better as well as buying bombs. The main thing is I don't know if I should hoard my money so I tend to not buy anything. And it's Commander C0LE. It's a zero in Cole. Made it when I was 13 and I'm to cheap to change it.
It is up to you on hoarding money. You can always find a bunch of money in house's, so I would make sure you have plenty of bombs and traps especially on high difficulties. I just added you :XBM Bama
Sounds good. Should I learn the daggers ability or just ignore them? And alright, when I get back on I'll accept it.
Daggers are plentiful in the game, but on the computer version the aiming is clumsy, so I never use them. I would rather put the skills into defensive skills or in vitality or vigor regeneration.
The game is not easy I won't sugar coat it, but I have no problem helping anyone, and this game if one of those game that when you beat a boss or an Act you feel like you actually accomplished something rather than just oh time to go to the next level or area. The risk is worth the reward. Every situation has countless ways for you to work with, and even random little quests that you think are throw away quests could come back to help you or haunt you later.
I havent had much time to play w/ school but I'm on it for the weekend now. What's up with mutagens? Is there a best way to use them. Do you need to mautate an attribute before you select it? How many are there going to be and should you not use the lesser mutations and wait for criticals or whatever? Seems like I have a ton of lessers.
I like how I can just walk up in houses and take all their shit. What do you do with books after you read them? Should I sell them?
Yeah specific skills will allow you to place mutagens they usually show a circle slot. It all depends on what skill tree you want to you use.
CD Projekt should pay me for how well I pimped this game out. I know at least 20 people that took my recommendation on this game.
