Ep 1 was more scary than I remember other episodes being. I'm a sissy with anything showing humans walking/bending/climbing weird though
Spoiler Killing Eskel off (in addition to his bizarre characterization) is the first real misstep I’ve seen the show make. Makes no sense to do what they did.
Spoiler especially because Coen basically replaces Eskel? Why not just have a rando Witcher die instead then
Spoiler I was watching with the fiancée who had no knowledge of the books and was trying to come up with a GoT parallel to make it easier to understand: “Imagine if after saving Cat Stark, Brienne of Tarth got killed during a highway robbery on the road with Jamie Lannister”. She instantly understood
Four episodes in and I am enjoying this much more than the first season. Spoiler Not sure why Eskel died when he did, but I don’t know enough of the cannon to care.
I feel like I need to play Witcher 3 now. Jaskier annoyed me in season one, and I am even enjoying him now, I don’t have a bad thing to say about any character at this point. They are all killing it.
I love this show and I'm so worried Netflix will cancel this like they do all good shows. Will definitely be the final straw if this gets cancelled.
Just finished. Love this show. Have absolutely no complaints just hope don’t have to wait 2 years for more
season 2 Episode 4 Spoiler The guard at the docks who says “it took me until the 4th verse to understand there was different timelines” What an amazing stab at people bitching about season 1
That was an amazing season. Blows away the first. The characters had so much more depth and the story was really good. Absolutely loved it.
My only experience with the Witcher has been this show. So Spoiler wtf at that ending. The freakin white flame they have talked about for 2 seasons was Cirillas dad? The hedgehog dude. Wtf. Is that known or is this a television twist. I need this splained to me please. I dont care if it gives away future shit. What happened to her mom? Why did everyone think they were dead?
NSIAP https://www.witchernetflix.com/en Pretty cool site Netflix made that helped me understand the world better. The map and timeline is legit.
WARNING: Fucking MAJOR spoilers for non-book readers Spoiler Long story short, Emhyr (who was the son of the previous Emperor deposed by the Usurper) essentially planned EVERYTHING; saving Pavetta’s father, winning Pavetta’s heart, feigning a sympathetic story and personality in front of the Cintran court, having a child with her, etc. all to solidify his own power and claim to multiple kingdoms when he ascended to rule Nilfgaard. Pavetta (Ciri’s mother) found out about this when they were on a boat, they got in a fight, and Pavetta fell off and drowned. The ship was destroyed in a storm, but Duny (Emhyr) survived and kept it secret from the Northern Kingdoms so he could freely operate in Nilfgaard, then take Ciri and the Northern Kingdoms in one fell swoop when the time was right. It’s honestly even worse than that, but it would take a while to explain and I also don’t want to give away too much because let’s just say the surprises aren’t done yet.
Season 2 was amazing. Season 1 was just ok by comparison. They can make as many changes from book/game canon as they want as long as it keeps being this good.
hadnt watched it before monday and just finished s2. pretty good. i have some complaints but nothing major.
P much my thoughts. Some of the directions they’ve taken the characters are definitely out in left field, and idk why they had to make some of the changes they did, but it’s been entertaining.
Yeah there's plenty of story they can pull from. IDK why the writers have to bring ok storylines. I do have a few gripes tho Spoiler Making Yen want a child so bad then making her OK with sacrificing a child to get her magic back was kinda iffy. Pretty much the opposite of the books. Also Vesemir wanting to bring back Witchers so much he was gonna give a kid the potion was odd. Reince was a little OP. Also how did he know to grab the Witcher potion. Enjoyed the dwarfs And what is there like 4 Witchers left now at KM? Also so poison freezes everyone in time at the same time. They should've just said it was magic Kinda Disappointed they didn't do shard of ice with Geralt and Istrid Im fine with deviations but it's just clunky compared to the authors stories How long are we doing spoilers for?
