Finished season two last night. That was extremely well done, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It really sucks having to wait at least another year for season three, but at least we’ll get the prequel to hold us over. I thought the sneak peak during the end credits looked really solid. Note to those who haven’t watched yet, I definitely recommend rewatching season 1 first.
I really enjoyed this season. Jaskier just keeps on writing bangers. Been humming Burn Butcher Burn the past couple of days.
Love the way they handled Ciri and the actress is wonderful. She wants to be tough but still is vulnerable and overwhelmed. She’s this hugely powerful being but still a little girl. Easy to fall into that tough girl, doesn’t take any shit from the boys stereotype
Last season has kind of sucked the wind out of my sails a little bit. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either. Was hoping it would take a step forward but it really didn't. Netflix just seems content to produce mediocre shows.
There’s always at least one, which is alright. My wife decided she wanted to watch so I’ve been rewatching. Rewatch is nice because I’m significantly less confused during the first season.
It really boils down to what they did with Yennefer. It was awful character development and completely off character for her. There were some other big misteps too. The writing was just so inconsistent. I'll still watch the third season but my expectations and anticipation has been tempered quite a bit.
No, but I'm familiar with a lot of it. But Then trying to sell off Ciri makes it hard for her to come back from that. Especially if she's meant to be a mother figure for her.
Sounds like Aussie had a crush on ole Yen. She got a slice of humble pie to eat for most of season 2. sobered her up a little from being a power crazy bitch in season 1. And Ciri's a witch ninja which is tight.
FYI, Yen’s storyline in season 2 is almost entirely pulled out of the TV writers’ asses and completely inconsistent with her character and established lore. And good luck if you’re expecting the bolded to change
Well it did in season 2 was what I was saying. She had to talk her way into and out of things this season instead of just magic-ing her way over everyone that she wanted to. I know nothing about the source material since my experience boils down to ~15 hours of playing TW3, so making up that storyline doesn't affect my outlook on her 2nd season. It was refreshing after seeing her witch-big-dick her way around for the majority of season 1
Perfectly fine with her going back to WBD mode going forward. Geralt gonna need a really powerful ally.
From wiki: Set 1200 years before the events of the television series, Blood Origin will depict the creation of the first Witcher, as well as the events leading to the "Conjunction of the Spheres". It will also explore the ancient Elven civilization before its demise. Which is a little weird because there shouldn't have been any witchers before the Conjunction (there were no humans in the witcher world pre-Conjunction and most or all of the monsters the witchers kill were post-Conjunction creatures), but they've shown a willingness to diverge from the source material so
That's really weird. Cavill is a huge fan of the Witcher and fantasy stuff in general. Makes me think he was unhappy with the direction they were taking it. Season 2 already went pretty far off the rails in terms of staying true to the lore.
I think that's probably part of it but he's probably also about to be a lot busier being Superman again.
Sucks because Cavill was about the only thing keeping me invested in this show. Now it's really going to feel like a second rate production.
I mean I think it’s a fun show beyond what Cavill brings to the table but I’m certainly ruined by the news
I think Cavill is about to be either Rhaeger or Aegon in the GOT universe and that’s probably a better job
Basically like a kid catfishing as his older brother. Hemsworth’s not gonna be able to fill his shoes figuratively and literally.
