no light at the end of the tunnel either, it's not like they've got some good picks coming up to fix things in the near future and any attempts to trade for skilled vets would only cost them even more picks (or Cardoso which is just as bad). they're fucked. for a long time. they probably won't be good until 2028 or so at a minimum.
I’m still trying to understand trading the #3 pick for Aerial Atkins when they could’ve just resigned Chennedy Carter who does the same thing but better. On top of that, Minnesota has their pick for next year too and I believe the pick swap in 2027 too? Like gaddam
I only watched for a few minutes last night. It was just such bad basketball. And worse, several plays in a row where rookie HVL had to direct the older players where to go before they could get into their sets. Pretty bleak
I've casually watched some games, just saw the stats today and my goodness Angel Reese shooting just isn't a meme. She's shooting 32% on shots inside 5 feet of the rim. That seems almost impossible
She’s in a funk and her team is trash but man those who spent all last season hyping her up to be a player she’s clearly not did her a tremendous disservice.
Carter is radioactive, she's simply not worth it. They got caught up in the hype last season because they came so close to the POs instead of tanking for someone like Citron and then they spent the offseason going "we're only a piece away, make a big signing!" and got bamboozled in that deal. just pure bozo front office and now they don't have an identity as a team. it's just "hey, here's some pro women's basketball players".
gonna be real interesting to see what the Fever do with McDonald when CC returns. small sample size but people are very high on her play and the idea of her coming off the bench when Clark needs a rest and there being less of an appreciable drop-off is very tempting. Fever would need to cut someone to do it, so we'll see. if not, I'd imagine the Sky are chomping at the bit since it was announced that Sloot's injury is officially a tear.
Angel’s biggest rival is Nalyssa Smith imo. - The only reason Caitlin vs Angel is hyped is because Angel taunted the great white hope winning the NCG and it subsequently turned into a race war on social media
I dont think she is their main problem but I do feel like they don’t need her to do as much as she is currently doing on the court
One of the worst teams I’ve ever watched at any level of basketball- men or women. And traded away their near-term future for peanuts.
I feel bad that the Sky play the Liberty on ESPN tonight maybe Milla has a chance to do something since JJ is out but its going to be ugly
she's en route to becoming the second player in league history to average having 2 of her shots blocked per game. the first player? Angel Reese, last year. conventional wisdom says to send it back outside when teams descend upon her to block her putbacks but when your teammates shoot this horribly you're damned if you, damned if you don't. her other big issue is when she rebounds the ball comes back below her waist before she goes back up, she basically begs to have her shot blocked. she has no vertical so she just gets these much bigger interior players who essentially treat her like we do when we play against a niece or nephew where you just stand there, put your hand above them, and wait for them to just send the ball into your hand. it's all bad everywhere for Chicago and no hope in sight.
Coming off being sick and in concussion protocol too. That's impressive AF. Too bad that team is trash.
They had to cut her due to hardship rules with CC and MAGA coming back waiving doesnt apply to hardship due to them not going through the waiver wire process
tough first game back for CC, not sure if I’ll be able to watch. maybe catch some of the 4th if it’s a close game.
