Correct, I expect big penalties if they ever make it to the next checkpoint.

Cara holding them up while crying for not being able to do math or eat stuff and Paulie basically dying was absolutely hilarious

If I recall, Paulie played soccer at Rutgers. There is zero excuse to perform so poorly physically. What a joke.

I'm skeptical that he's not playing it up...but I can't reconcile that thought with how badly he's hurting the team

Just seems so unlikely that he's just dying out there so early

Remember last years final? He almost died there too. Not very surprising especially with all the shit he talked all season about starting his legacy. Lol

Plus I actually thought Paulie was pretty legit until he blew his load and almost died on the water challenge in the final. Ever since then he’s been an insufferable prick. Guessing that had to do with cara a little as well and maybe the way they produced this season.

it was the challenge (or "daily" as paulie calls it) right before the Final where TJ announces auto-eliminate for whoever finishes last.

Was some sort of obstacle course over water. Required a series of jumps across platforms.

Paulie goes first out of all the guys. So had to attack it fast bc no set times yet. He of course tries to Olympic Dive at full speed....lands the jump short and hits into the edge of the 2nd platform. This basically caused him to fuck up the rest of the course. Think he timed out. Started crying bc he lost.

Blames it on getting whiplash, some major neck injury that caused him to fuck up the rest of the Challenge. Also said it was freezing cold (they were in Turkey iirc) and that he had hypothermia or some shit from landing in the water. Still uses the Neck thing as an Excuse.

I’m assuming you listened to his interview on the challenge mania podcast where he came off even more unlikable. I found it funny how he said he has over 20 “daily” wins as a way to prop himself up as a great competitor. Which means he’s claiming these big team challenge wins in his personal record.

If he wins, this has been a damn near perfect strategical season for CT. Bananas could actually take a page from his book.

He used his rep (which he really no longer justifies at this stage) to his advantage, and basically straddled the line all season, not really declaring a side until the 2nd to last challenge or whatever it was. He cruised into the final having never even been close to being considered for elimination, and without really pissing off anybody until the very end.

If you try to pull all the strings, it usually either works successfully like it has for Paulie this year, or fails spectacularly like it did for Wes and Laurel. If I’m a vet, I play it just like CT did. Hell even zack’s dumb ass did something similar and he also cruised into the final.

CT will now also go into any future challenges with no new enemies, and maybe a few more allies.

Paulie and crew are royally fucked going forward in basically any situation where they don’t have the numbers. Wouldn’t shock me to see Paulie/Cara as some of the first people thrown in it they return for coming seasons

Cara has thoroughly alienated almost every female competitor that would compete on that show moving forward. Ninja and Ashley may be the only ones that would side with her in the future.

Supposedly, Cara and Paulie are not on the next season. Read into that what you will. CT, Wes, Bananas, Jordan, Tori, Jenna and a few others are though. Bear included. He's damn good television.

I strongly disagree, it was reputation and dumb luck that got him this far.

He was dead in the water until that fluke purge eliminated Joss and saved them from having to carry Kayleigh into the final. That doesn't happen and he may have been thrown into an elimination versus Jordan. Or would potentially trying to survive a purge challenge in the final versus Jordan/Joss/Rogan where he'd clearly be the biggest underdog. His "big move" was to not get rid of the best female in the game right before the final, that just shows how weak the game was played this season. He was the third wheel with Joss/Rogan and repeatedly had a chance to make his move but didn't (partnering up with Theo/Jenny or Jordan/Tori to balance the numbers) and it was ultimately luck that saved him.

He had the opportunity to be either CT/Theo/Georgia/Jenny or CT/Jordan/Tori/Jenny versus Joss/Rogan/Dee/Kayleigh and didn't make the move either time.

Eh, I’m looking at it the other way. His rep definitely helped him, but he used that advantage well. He knew people on his team din’t want to go into elimination against him in case it’s a hall brawl type thing, and the opposition wanted to keep him bc they assumed he wouldn’t run well in the final. By not showing really any cards until very late, he didn’t create any vendetta and stayed off of virtually everybody’s hit list. Had he partnered or aligned earlier, he could've been one elimination away from the wrong side of the numbers. Even without the joss/Kayleigh thing, he would’ve potentially only faced one elimination before the final, which is pretty good for a guy that’s probably not even top 5 any more from a physical standpoint.

According to Wikipedia, Jordan is 3 for 5 for cumulative winnings of $833,000. He only trails Ashley who has won $1,121,250.

Which raises the question, why did him and Tori need to win this to buy a house?

Turbo rounds out the top 3 with $750k.

Just finished watching again. Man, Paulie and Cara are miserable. Like someone on the show said, Paulie did the same (maybe less) amount of work than the other guys and he just died. And Cara saying how good he is...are you seeing the same things we are? He should never run his mouth about being a competitor and wanting to “run a final with Jordan.” Dude, you were the worst player in the final for the majority. You have won absolutely nothing.

Zack complains a lot but has rebounded well and has been a solid competitor since gassing out in the finals several seasons ago.

Also just thinking out loud here, it would be a great twist if you had to win an elimination to be eligible to compete in a final. I'm not sure how the details would work, but force people to go in if you want to move on. I don't care what "Killah Kam" did 4 seasons ago when she beat a few weak girls in eliminations. LeRoy performed well in part of the final, but skated to it. These people talk about performances all day but hide behind their numbers when it's time to go to work. It would make alliances less important and make people earn their way a bit more. It was satisfying to see Jordan win knowing he won multiple eliminations and deserved what he got.

Surprised LeRoy was able to get so emotional in the interview. Those things seem to be done at a later time. I was emotional too though, I felt for all of them. This season seemed intense.

Zack could be in a tight spot going forward. Him and Bananas were still on the outs this season after Bananas thought he worked with Wes but he also openly hates this new group that ran this season. I wonder how Bananas will handle Leroy working with those guys this season too

I thought a 3rd boat was going to pull up for those outside of the top 4 on each team...making it a 3-way stage 2 with the 3rd team a bigger time penalty. Would have been a great twist.

Thought this was interesting....It would be frustrating to really have over an hour lead in the game and have that down to.....5 minutes.

This was Jordan’s fourth time competing in a final, and he admitted that it was one of the easier one’s he’s taken part in. “Physically, it wasn’t the toughest one that I’ve had to do, just because it’s a team,” Jordan explained. “So, we’re at the pace of the team.” Jordan’s other finals were won individually or just with one partner, so this one definitely had a different vibe. However, at the end of the day, it was his favorite win yet. “As far as stature, winning with the group that we won with, and getting to do the entire game, virtually, with Tori…it was the best finals win, by far,” he said. “All of the cards were stacked against us, but the team performed amazing. Whenever we had to pull together, we did that. Throughout the entire thing, we were picking each other up and staying positive.”

This positive attitude helped team U.K. take the lead during the grueling first leg of the challenge, despite a 10-minute time penalty. “Based on our calculation, I bet we had a good hour, hour and a half on the Americans,” Jordan admitted. What the team didn’t see, though, was how much the U.S. team — particularly Paulie Calafiore — was struggling. In fact, Jordan said that he didn’t know just how bad things were for Paulie, who wound up fighting through the pain, until he watched the show back with the rest of us!

“I was so surprised,” Jordan revealed. “That was the biggest shock to me, of everything. We didn’t realize what was happening until we got to the [overnight] snake pit, which was when we could sort of feel out what our lead was. They got there maybe an hour after us. The first person who walked up was Zach [Nichols] ,and we came there from a swim, so that was understandable. Then slowly, you see the rest of the team, and no Paulie. So when he comes walking up all stiff-legged, zombie-like and pale, that’s when I knew…he’s not in good shape. I was so surprised.

What was going through your head when Tori was the last to finish the puzzle and you knew she wouldn’t advance to the second leg? I felt like I lost when Tori lost. I guess I missed when Dee [finished her puzzle]. So when I finished mine and started walking away, I thought Tori and Dee were both still down there. I kind of shouted, like…take your time, babe! But I turned the corner and saw Dee standing there [finished], and my heart hit the floor. I asked Tori, straight up, do you want to take my spot? If one of us wins, we both win. But she was like…you have the best chance of winning. So I stayed.”

I did dislike this about how they did the two stages. The UK smoked the US in stage 1 but that didn't really seem to matter much at all. I also disliked how the final puzzle had a time limit, making that puzzle virtually meaningless

I like that idea. Would be cool to have it set up where before the final, everybody who had not been in an elimination, say 4 people of each sex, had to go in and only 1 could come out. Everybody who had survived an elimination went straight through. So you’d want to do an elimination at some point to get better odds.
