I also thought the time penalties weren’t weighted enough. The UK did one dumb, brief thing, while the US broke the rules consistently throughout the entire thing and only got 10 minutes. I wonder if they decided that in real time based on the giant lead?
An acquaintance of mine in Atlanta has been on the Reckoning Challenge season. He bartends occasionally at my local spot. He said last night that Cara is just as miserable a person in real life outside of the challenges as well.
yeah that was bullshit they also made it seem like the final puzzle and kayak to the boat determined the winner which didn’t add up at all

I think it did determine the winner. They weren't adding up the times of each stage, just winning stage 1 got you the headstart, but not equivalent to how much you won by.
so that “10 minute deduction” from the final time for the americans cheating was for nothing? they got zero punishment for what they did. they cheated and still lost the first leg. that final confused me
Really hated that elimination purge, seems like it favored the people that didn't work as hard the previous round. Felt bad for Leroy, that was the best he's probably ever performed one of these Agree with everyone that the advantage for winning the first round was bullshit. Also think that the American team was got screwed over and penalized for dominating the entire season. Really disliked how little being good at competiting mattered this season. Jordan and Zach were the only 2 out of the final 8 that really deserved to even be there. but hey, at least Paulie didn't win
I just laugh every time Jordan, Tori, Zach and those guys act like Team USA did it to themselves. While true, their own alliance was the root cause of what led it all to happen. Laurel and Johnny got Team USA to turn on Wes, one of their better competitors, over Josh. Freakin' Josh. They fired the first shot that divided the team. They again tried to do it in the next challenge, throwing the challenge to get another person from Team USA, who wasn't in their alliance on the block and out of the house. Suddenly when the numbers weren't on their side, and they couldn't take those shots are people not in their alliance, they became "Team USA", they decided it was a terrible thing to pick off their own team members and couldn't understand why they were being treated how they were. It got worse when they started saying everyone but them were playing "scared". Their own alliance threw a team member in first. Their own alliance members started throwing challenges. But when someone else did it, it was the worst thing done in challenge history.
blah blah blah. what laurel and bananas were doing had nothing to do with jordan tori and zach. none of them voted one of their teammates in. they were not doing ANYTHING like cara and her cult.
Dumbest comment ever. The point of the game is to not get out into an elimination. The only ppl that spout this arent in control of the game
They repeatedly pleaded with Paulie to make the right decisions. After shots were fired with Wes and Laurel, they had that come to jesus moment where everyone agreed to stop sending in their own team. It was partially their fault though for trusting Paulie and putting him in the tribunal just because he promised not to send anyone in. More I think about this season, the more I really disliked it. 80% of the final not only never had to face an elimination, but also didn't contribute much to any of the dailies. All politics is boring, it's why I don't watch Survivor or Big Brother
I'm glad the UK team won. 10m penalty was dumb. US should have had multiple penalties After 16 fucking miles and the Brits winning by at least an hour... They only get a 5min head start?? Holy shit I'd be livid if I was a Brit and lost. Super dumb Lmao fuck Cara. Feel bad for Leroy
I really want someone to start calling him Paul, much like Abe did with Bananas and only calling him John
i’m not saying to volunteer yourself to go into an elimination every time but they played a scared game and it got them an L because of it
Do we know a start date for the next season yet? Scared of googling and getting spoilers if it's started filming already
Found this after a quick Google... ‘The Challenge’ season 35 is most likely to premiere sometime in February 2020.
eh. jordan has always marched to the beat of his own drum. he wasn’t going around the house campaigning or anything like that. he never said a teammates name to go down for elimination
The season was good in that it had an extremely strong cast, probably the best cast ever. I also think Tori/Jordan beating Paulie/Cara made it really entertaining. Other than that, I think the setup of the show seemed broken at times and the finale was no different. They have to make the rewards for winning daily challenges and eliminations greater. Watching alliances dictate the entire game is boring, curve balls have to be added that can immediately counter an alliance. Something as simple as giving the top 3 players from a daily challenge immunity would have made this season so much better. The option to throw a challenge should never be on the table or if you do you should be giving up a lot to do it. This finale was one of the worst ones they have had. To knock out 3 people from a weak puzzle was very lame and anticlimactic.
So if you’re Jordan and Tori, do you ride off into the sunset or just keep wrecking everybody in challenges as a full time job for as long as you can?
Or swimming apparently. If you’re on these shows, you’ve got no reason to not be at least competent at everything they’ve done in the past.
I’d keep doing it til they decide to have a kid, then maybe send just Jordan. That’s probably enough time for another 2-3 wins
So who is the biggest threat to Jordan? The vets are slowly becoming worse and the newer guys don’t seem too impressive, especially with Theo losing a battle to a wine cork. There may be a physical challenge (NOT using a sledgehammer) to Zack or something that Jordan may lose just because of the 75 lb difference and Zack being solid, if unspectacular. But I figure he’s gotta be the odds on favorite the next few challenges.
Theo had a shot but don’t think so anymore Turbo is gone for good i think Paulie is too small and has no cardio Zach could beat him in a hall brawl but that’s it
interested to see what other reality show recruitment they do + if anything comes from the spartan race casting
Seems like a “Fresh Meat” season would be a good idea. I think they tried to do that to an extent with Bloodlines but none of those characters really took, but they got some of the most notable players in the series from the two Fresh Meats.
The spartan race casting has me thinking a new fresh meat has to be coming, right? Have they ever done a couples themed challenge? Not exes but couples? Jordan and Tori would crush it
When you are clearly in an alliance with a group of individuals who is throwing in their own team, and throwing missions just to throw in their own team, it has everything to do with them. If they were truly 'Team USA', and truly about 'not playing scared', they would have called bullshit on any and all of those things their alliance members did early in the game. Instead they went along with each vote, even after seeing the way Bananas, Laurel, Josh and others were playing the game.
He didn't want to vote against Bananas when he was partnered with Sarah. When Bananas and Laurel threw, 1. He didn't seem to care(Remember he made a big deal out of Wes being an alliance with Joss) and 2. Still voted with them.
My thoughts in the final exactly. Brits got fucked with the penalties. 10 mins for CT touching their gurney. US team fucking destroyed it, carried the bags multiple times, and changed carriers when they weren’t supposed to be. My guess is the reason they didn’t make the penalty longer was because UK would have destroyed it.
Kam apparently was on instagram saying US team thought production was out to get them by only allowing 4 people to carry the gurney. She should be blaming Zach for not going every round like Leroy.
When you get to that point, put that aside and carry the thing like all the guys on the UK and Leroy did. Why let your chance rest in Ninja, Cara and Ashley’s hands. Paulie is obviously largely to blame for gassing out, but Zach taking a round off certainly didn’t help.
have to also realize zach is much taller than the rest of the US team so more weight will be put on him than anyone else and they also had more weight than UK
Cara and her alliance were horrible and I’m glad they lost. They got what they deserved for voting in or driving away there strong players. But in the final the biggest and strongest player on their team didn’t give his all which hurt his and their team’s chances to win the money. If on the reunion he says he didn’t care/try as hard because he didn’t want his team to win the money then all is forgiven.
he said in those little interviews that the reason he took a break was because he wanted the rest of the team to carry their weight. he knew they would lose and it seemed like he wanted them to know it was because of them
I had a 4 hr drive in front me of me this morning and remembered the "Challenge Mania" podcast that had been referenced here a couple times. It's hosted by Derrick and some comedian I've never heard of Anyways....Tori was interviewed for like an hour by them and she seems like a complete straight shooter ...but two interesting thoughts.... 1.) Not too surprisingly, but she thinks CT played an insanely smart game. She said the night before the last elimination when she thought she would be going in once again...CT walked up to her and Jordan while they were sleeping in bed and said "You're good". 2.) I don't think Turbo will be back. She sounded legitimately scared of him. She said he bragged about how he came to be popular on Turkish reality shows due knocking a guy out cold and other stories like that.
