No they actually care and make me work harder to not look like complete shit, it sucks
Yeah they're trying to get raises and promotions in my experience. They don't actually care about the stupid reports or whatever it is your coworkers do. I mean I'm sure they prob try to tell themselves they care. It's just like when everyone pretends to be swamped when I'm bored out of my mind doing the same job
This is bad. Are the no other McDonald’s in your town that you can transfer to?
One truly loves to work. Even though he is the most senior, knowledgeable, hardest working guy on the team he acts like an unpaid intern fighting for a spot. It’s exhausting/infuriating.
Nothing wrong with that. Pretty admirable, imo.
He’s a fucking slave and he’s gonna die and turn to worm food and no one is gonna remember he ever existed and he’s probably never gonna experience wonderful shit like toes in the sand at mullet toss at flora bama
Meh it’s more
He just got married so maybe he chills a bit. Perfect example actually today was his destination wedding. An office wide email was sent about some big wigs there and to make sure areas/offices are clean. He texted the one guy on our team in the office asking if his area was clean.
I mean what is wrong with that? He cares about his job. Is he a nice guy?
Man I wish I could go through life never questioning anything and liking my job.
Your wife be cool with you working on your wedding day? She had to tell him not to bring his laptop on the trip cause she says he works too much. There comes a point in work ethic/dedication that it becomes a negative to others. It’s detrimental to his relationships and mine/the teams cause I have to step up and work nights and weekends to try and keep pace with his unnecessary over working which takes me away from my family.
My job has a 95% turnover rate and I’ve been at it for 5 years
at this point it’s just sad to watch the 10 new people they hire each month come in really excited only to watch them get fired in a month or two and leave completely crushed
I’m not in that boat either. So much for absolutes.
I’m asking questions.
I’m sorry you have to do that and yes my wife would be pissed if I was doing that on my wedding day. I’m someone though who frequently checks email on my vacation because it keeps me relaxed. I rarely take vacation more than 2-3 days at a time for that reason.
Have you spoken with him about it or is it a tough situation since he’s senior? Can you speak with HR because that sucks it messes with your personal life.
Existential angst is a bitch nahmean
I watched my uncle work 2 jobs (teacher during the year and worked a blue collar summer job) to make a mediocre living for 40 years, retire, then die of colon cancer 6 months later. Makes a guy question the whole thing.
What's the alternative?
Nah, he’d probably call me a pussy. Nice enough guy but that’d be the likely response.
HR? Somehow our thousand + employee company has no HR.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not really one besides being completely irresponsible. Doesn’t help not giving a shit about your irrelevant job though unless it’s in something that really makes a difference.
It's the up's and down's of human trafficking
Do you really want to know the answer to this?
I assume it is some dream of redistribution of wealth so that everyone has the same amount of stuff. I was looking for a realistic answer because I've seen multiple people in this thread seem to think work is pointless.
That marcus isn't back yet.
being like 24 and seeing this scenario play out weekly at work if not more often bends your brain a certain way
folks, anarcho-primitivism, google it.
Whenever I see some shit like this or another iceberg the size of some bit of geography I can’t conceptualize breaks off an ice sheet.
Not a ton ruins my day, most days. I’m pretty fucking lucky all things considered.
although specifically yesterday I had to have an A/C company come out to repair our system at the house and that cost a bunch. That ruined my day.
Getting bad/less sleep
People who like work concern me.
not people with a ton of ambition who start companies, or run organizations, but people who Stan the whole 8-5 grind.
that’s weird to me.
For instance I “like” my job. More so than most I would imagine.
But I’d also rather be fishing or golfing or reading or gardening or even starting a new hobby like bird watching or some shit.
I personally love working 10-12 hours a day to help people profit off of my work
my work is especially bad. I have customers that I brought in myself and I make 25% of all net revenue from my customers
so essentially I pay my company 75% of my profits for giving me the platform. Too expensive to start my own business in the industry and I signed a noncompete when I started that would kill any chance of me starting my own business anyways
fuck sales jobs and fuck capitalism
i should add being 21 and working in sales was REALLY the primer for the change
The alternative, realistically, is very depressing and not something we should really discuss.
I guess I just interpret this the wrong way. Do I like work? No...I would rather be doing something fun.
Do I like money? Yes.
Do I like being able to provide for myself? Yes.
Do I like having things? Yes.
Am I appreciate for the thing (work) that makes all those possible? Yes.
Yeah, I think that’s pretty much what I said, we just wish it wasnt that way. Unlike others who defend the grind.
maybe I don’t “appreciate”
Speak plainly please.
In less consequential terms: When Warzone does a big update, and I log on to play with the lads at 8 pm, but my playstation 4 is going to take 3 hours to download what takes their gaming PC's 20 minutes.
two weekends ago one of our a/c goes out. my son was graduating that weekend and had fucktons of people coming in. that was neat (and expensive)
commit unalive or just deal with it or be homeless
3 real choices
Logging on to TMB.
I'd like to add War Grundle posts
Man this is just a sad outlook on life.
I can’t post this without coming off like a super fucking privileged asshole but my A/C repair came between a New Orleans 4 day weekend and 10 days in New England. I had already budgeted this month. It ruined my day.
also black god damn algae
look at mr. judgy over here
i mean those are legitimately the 3 choices
you are truly the biggest dork ass loser to ever walk this godforsaken earth
