I get that...I'd just rather more dominoes fall for with how everything ends....if that episode never happened I wouldn't have wondered "What happened with Jack and his Mom?" when the series ended. It was a good episode of television...just would have been more interested in the current timeline.
I think Kevin is barely ahead of Kate in the likeability category....but, even I think Madison is starting to be ridiculous to him.
It's all about Madison. Not often Kevin is right, but getting to spend Thanksgiving with his kids and Mom...before her brain completely deteriorates is a much bigger deal than Madison getting to spend it with her nerd boyfriend just because she's in love. Fuck Kate for siding with that reasoning too.
think it was more about Kevin always getting what he wants and learning to let others live their life not having to dance around Kevin.
I love this show, but damn NBC is a prime example of why so many folks prefer streaming now. Do they ever go more than 2-3 weeks in a row without skipping a few weeks? They can stretch an 18 episode season into 10 months. The way the show jumps from character to character every few episodes you can watch it live and go a month+ without seeing somebody.
Enjoyed this episode. The scene where everyone could see something was there with Rebecca and Miguel was great Kevin was a dick
Jack/Kevin finally gets a cabin for Rebecca and starts Big Three Homes Episode was directed by Jack btw next week is fucking Kate ugh
At least we finally get to see the implosion of Kate's marriage... might be the highlight of her character arc (which is otherwise the absolute worst).
Pretty blah implosion. They have both changed as people since getting married...not necessarily for the bad...they have each just found their own groove and it has caused neither one to want to leave said groove.
Well I was wrong... I thought we'd get better than... THAT... Still Fuck Kate... also Toby has become quite the douche
I didn’t think either of them came off poorly from it and they both have realistic reasoning for how they feel
Seems like we are running out of time for Jack to get burned by the Big Green Egg, unless I'm forgetting that. I thought that was what was going to be what ends them.
Agreed. New Toby is a bit of a douche, but he wasn't exactly planning on exiting the family tho either.
Yeah, after being a jackass last episode I was expecting them to make us feel for Kate this week but then he was putting in real effort to try to make her enjoy SF. I did think when Kate was having all these old Toby moments though “Wasn’t his depression so bad then that he sometimes didn’t get out of bed”
The most unrealistic part to me was that they would've ever gotten into that situation (married, young kids, one with special needs and living a flight apart) without having discussed long-term plans, like hey if this works out y'all will move with me in 6 mos. Did they do that and I missed it?
Toby literally had a massive heart attack and severe depression, so he worked on himself and worked off the bad weight. Then he got himself a better job where he felt valuable and makes a boatload of money for his kids to live a comfortable lifestyle. So of course Kate resents him for something that she could never do herself. Toby 100% nailed it on her. She is living her perfect supermom life back with her shithead brother in the same house while she does part time teaching on the side. All the while still being morbidly obese and getting severely winded walking up a hill. Fuck Kate forever and ever
And finally we get the episode of the only decent Pearson in the family probably because he isn’t cursed with having Pearson in his blood
Y’all just hate Kate and can’t be rational about her Severe overreaction. I don’t like her and could even say was looking for a reason to be angry with her and came away thinking she was reasonable
How was she reasonable? What is really keeping her in LA? Her mom is about to move back to Pittsburgh, her brother can afford to live in his own place, and I’m sure there are music schools with similar pay in San Francisco. Is it reasonable for Toby to take a massive paycut and demotion just so that he can be in LA? Is it reasonable to like someone when they are at theor worst just because you are but become bitter when they actually improvd themselves? What part of Kate’s story is reasonable?
She literally laid it out man. Jack is just now getting to where he knows the house and the surrounding area. It would be perfectly reasonable to not want to then take him out of that and drop him into somewhere new. If you don’t think that is reasonable, then again, you’re just blinded by hate
I noticed this too and felt like he was lying... He didn't want to offer it up so he deflected to something else to keep that quiet. I think Toby likes the life he made for himself in SF and doesn't want to go back to LA.
No one said he couldn’t learn a new environment but the fuck Kate people after this episode are showing that they aren’t willing to be reasonable about her by hand waving that away
