Kate's response was fine and in line with her character. She has major self-esteem issues and is currently experiencing a form of happiness that she does not want to let go of. It's tough to watch compared to everyone else in the family who gives us a much more rewarding journey of personal growth.

Thought they continued the trend of making this falling out not the fault of anyone but giving both parties reasons to feel the way they do and that sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Also I want whatever Jack is getting for Christmas
Toby and Kate are pretty much at the point where any comment from one to the other is a complete trigger to the other one. I do think Kate was kind of a bigger cunt than Toby was overall tho. The whole Jack storyline was a bit intense for me as someone whose kid of a similar age just recently got the nuances down of how to turn door knobs to get doors open. Made a mental note that now that the weather is getting nicer to pound it into her head that she isn't allowed to leave the house by herself.
Thank god Jack is dead and Rebecca has dementia so they don’t have to see or remember how terrible their biological children have become. But to be fair they were terrible human beings as children and teens as well. I wanted Toby to punch Kevin’s nosy ass in the face so badly. As always Beth is my queen and the best character in the show. I hope they don’t let Madison leave Elijah for Kevin. That would suck.
Toby crying at Jack’s bedside got to me bad though, and I’m not even a dad I just know Kate is gonna try her best to poison the kids against Toby after the divorce. She seems like that type of person.
Beth >>> Madison hasn’t been in any future stuff so hoping that isn’t happening but that scene at the house where she explained how excited she was and how she was in love with Elijah felt like a closing of that chapter to me.
It would be just like Kevin to have shit work out in his favor but he seems pretty good at fucking up his love life

I would bet that Toby is the second most popular character on the show behind Randall, so probably wanted to devote a decent amount to his "end" before focusing on direct family the rest of the way. I'm with you tho.

The Jack line gave me flashbacks to when I became a Miguel fan early on. When he, Beth and Toby are at the bar outside of the Pearson family meeting and stands up for the family and Jack
Okay I did not like the first 90% of the episode but then Toby got his happy ending with an absolute dimepiece with a sense of humor and it brought a smile to my face Phillip’s ex getting killed by a drunk driver 5 minutes after leaving him was some dark ass shit Madison gets knocked up by Elijah my boy and Sophie gets married by someone better than Kevin I assume Jack would be a fat kid but luckily he took after his dad and got himself in shape unlike his mom Fuck Kate she deserves nothing good
All I’ve ever wanted was for Toby to be happy also I’m making a prediction after the promo that Kevin begins sleeping with Sophie because these white Pearsons can fail upwards with the best of them and this is the beginning of Rebecca’s decline which will lead us to the series finale at the future cabin scene
So we get six episodes for every Randal meltdown but we get the last two years and next 18 years of Kate and Toby in one jumbled episode?

well they spent a whole episode last week on the actual split and this week was just to finalize it and secure their happy endings if you have any complaints its the Kate got like 40 minutes with her and the Brit and Toby just got 5 minutes with him and his smokeshow
