    Had a good week working out and decent eating. Was a few lbs lighter when weighing in on a different day but not too worried about it. Going to keep focusing on the workouts and keep improving the diet a little at a time.

    I'm an expert at losing weight. Unfortunately that's b/c I'm always getting fat then having to lose weight, literally every year. Get fat during CFB season, lose weight between Jan-July.

    Goal is to get to 190-195 then actually stay there this time.

    When I was younger and cycled in/out of being in good shape, I always gave myself Friday night to Sunday morning to eat and drink anything I wanted. Even at 6’5”, 185lbs, 6% body fat, running 20 minute 5Ks, etc...it was never worth 24x7 discipline to me.

    I’m actually going to try starting this week. My wife has put together an exercise program for me, I will do my best to eat right and stay away from booze, and I have some extra motivation over the next few weeks.

    But let’s be honest...

    Cheat days are hard if you're not really disciplined.

    I'm essentially a creature of habit. If I cheat, then it turns into another day I spiral badly. "Well one more day isn't going to hurt"

    I essentially eat extremely strict all week. Then the weekends have a little more food here and there or maybe a nice meal. Fast Food, never. Try to limit extreme sweets like candy. Try to only drink beer one night of the weekend. That's just dead calories, even though they are so damn good

    I’ve noticed that I have a terrible eating habit. In general I like to get the bad stuff done/out of the way first and it applied to how I eat. I’ll eat the stuff I don’t want very much (like fries) first and save the better stuff for last. So I end up eating a bunch of extra calories in stuff I don’t even want to begin with, plus some sauce or something to make them more enjoyable before I get to what I actually want. At that point I’m definitely finishing the good part because it’s good. I need to not do that anymore.

    Just finished the “light” HIIT workout my wife made for me. 8 exercises, 3 cycles, and 36 minutes.

    I welcome death when I sleep tonight. Holy fuck am I out of shape.

    Each exercise is 60 secs with 15 secs in between. I did 3 rounds.

    Jumping jacks
    Side planks
    Lunges
    Mountain climbers

    1 minute break

    Jump rope
    Crunches
    Burpees
    Calf raises

    I’m very out of shape and could barely finish. I need to work on core strength which a lot of these do.

    I can barely walk today and my quads are more sore than they've literally ever been in my life.

    Monday:

    Strength:
    Snatch Complex: Snatch DL to knee + Snatch Pull + Snatch (4 sets at 95, 105, 115, 125)
    Snatch Complex: Snatch DL to knee + Snatch (3 sets at 135, 135, 145)

    Workout: (for time)
    50 cal row
    80 wall balls (20 lb ball to 10 ft mark)
    400m run
    60 wall balls
    200m run
    40 wall balls

    Tuesday:

    Half hour low effort bike (active recovery for quads)

    Strength:
    C&J Complex: Deadlift + Clean + Jerk (5 sets at 155, 155, 165, 165, 175)
    C&J Complex: Clean + Jerk (4 sets at 175, 185, 195, and 205)

    Workout: (for time)
    10 rounds
    3 clean and jerk @ 135#
    3 bar-facing burpees

    And today we're doing back squat + front squat complexes and a 15 minute amrap that includes running, sit-ups, and shoulder presses

    I am dealing with some sciatica, which I believe is caused by piriformis syndrome. I basically wake up in the morning without the ability to straighten my leg without numbness down my right leg into my calf. By noon it is gone. I run/bike in the afternoon, and rinse/repeat. I think I need to take a week or two off and just focus on stretching out my piriformis. But then I'll get fat. I guess I could just stop eating like shit.

    It’s her job to be the best at exercising and it’s my job to let her do that.
