We were explaining the "half your age +7" dating rule to some coworkers and it was a sad realization that I don't think I could handle dating a girl that's 28
43 and my tendinitis in the knee and elbow are flaring up nicely now that my sciatica has stopped hurting
One of my undergrad roommates was a computer science engineering major. The first time I ever saw the Internet was 1993. He typed a bunch of unintellible commands into his computer and we left for the bars. When we got home several hours later, we had porn pictures. You really had to plan ahead in those days.
Discovered Usenet newsgroups back in '95. Alt.binaries.pictures.erotica for those of you unfamiliar. The giddy anticipation of a picture slowly revealing itself cannot be duplicated in today's high speed era.
I spent the week packing, moving and unpacking. Made it through without any issues physically and I was feeling pretty proud. Then I was following the cable guy around today and I felt a twinge in my back and left hip. I'm now basically paralyzed on the left side from my mid back on down to my lower calf.
dude who lived in my apartment building had a computer in 93. He showed me the internet. I chatted once. Didn't get back online until 98 when I found gene williams and learned who was the best in the biz. Gotta give it to the dude, though, he's so old his name is dotcom--from a time when that was innovative and forward sounding.
I started using the Internet for school in '95 and quickly discovered porn. I remember finding a pic of my friend running the naked mile in '98.
4 beers, 4 ibuprofen, stretching and Biofreeze and I'm good as new. Until 3 hours in the car tomorrow.
I've become a big fan of Alleve. A couple before golf and I can hold off the collapse a few extra holes. No matter how the hole is laid out, I always feel extra smug when I hit my ball near the cart path.
Did 4 miles at about 9 min a mile pace today after the gym. Hoping to get it down to about 8:30 for my half marathon. You guys are right getting old sucks.
I've been championing a movement to change a standard round of golf to 15 holes for years. I'm always ready for a burrito and a nap way before the 18th hole ends.
At the office there is a blonde smoke show in customer service, she is in her mid 20s. Me and another guy were talking about how we could no longer hit the club all night, get a few hrs sleep and function at work. She is out a few nights a week, if I am up past the 11pm news it's staying up late
41 here. The tendinitis in my shoulder is unbearable at this point. I can't lift my arm above shoulder height. My son asked me yesterday afternoon to throw with him for the first time (we started baseball this spring). Dad strength prevailed and I gutted it out but my shoulder is completely numb this morning.
No back or leg issues....yet. But I hurt my right tricep working out like 2 months ago and the pain refuses to go away whenever I work out. I have to use Icy Hot just to push through.
my shoulder started bothering me at about that time. Went to the ortho and he said that a bone in my shoulder kept tearing my rotator cuff. Had to go to PT first, which was bullshit and all it did was hurt, then they scheduled mri and surgery. The week of the surgery I got a kidney stone (had three or four but only one was destroying my junk and a whole other hellish topic), so I had to put off the surgery. A couple years later, shoulder is all better. The thing is that when you hurt your shoulder you tend to not use it.
Yeah I hurt my rotator cuff like 12 years ago and never treated it (found out after the fact) so you might be onto something there. Either way not sure I can do anything about it now.
Fuck. That. Shit. My left shoulder was frozen and kept getting worse and worse. After a few months I couldn't move my shoulder away from my body at all (but had full elbow and wrist mobility). I felt like a T-Rex with those little arms. About 90% mobility now, but PT was a bitch.
Played golf yesterday and it was 98 degrees and Africa humid here in Arkansas. After 15 I was ready to head to the clubhouse. A fat man in the heat for 4 hours is rough.
47. Finally got progressive lenses because in addition to being horribly nearsighted, my close vision failed me over the last 3-4 years. Progressives take some getting used to. Not sure if I like them. 5'11", 180lbs., can do pullups and dips with a 60lb. weight vest, so I think I'm holding up OK
