I haven't watched anything on it until that video. If it's that easy, just get to 50 then deck them out with gear, I'm making one. He also showed a method where you don't have to play the games, just sim the appearance.
not that long but I was doing it while on a webinar for work. I did all of the moments and then did the play vs cpu method to do the missions super easy.
Yeah, I just set up a new squad that was exclusively tied to the missions and played the Rockies at Coors. It took me 2 or 3 games but I never played a full 9. I checked to see what point value I needed to unlock the next guy and then would back out, add him to my roster, then play again. Your stats still count towards the mission even if you don’t finish the game.
Nice if the game turns on I might try to knock these out. I want to start playing online but I guess until servers are consistent might as well add some diamonds
Finished the NL collection today with the market dip and made enough stubs back with POTM program to buy all the 1st inning bosses too. Feel pretty set to either sell for a profit or use for a collection towards 2nd inning program.
Not sure if there will be any this week but if there are, they'll drop on Friday. The player of the month program gives you several of the previous packs that if you already have the guy, you can sell for around 10k in some cases.
That Ohtani card is nice as hell. All OF positions, great power and speed. Also both the Burnes and Duffy cards are ideal for Conquest as both have insanely quick deliveries plus with a higher rating the PC will get far fewer hits off them. You basically don't even need to aim.
Forgot how the CPU automatically gets 190 level contact for every batter when you’re trying to do the Ks challenges/moments.
I was doing the one where Duffy needs 8Ks vs Detroit. Was just trying to speed through it over lunch but it was taking forever.
What pitching do you guys use? I was trying to force myself to learn pinpoint and I’m 50/50 using it. But thinking of switching back to meter or analog for these offline moments to speed it up.
Using meter for pitching, I’m not good enough for that shit to ever matter. Beat 5 showdowns today, working on finishing off all the TA.
Showdowns make me so upset. I started down 12-6 the other day, got it to 12-11 with 10 outs left and then proceeded to hit into 2 double plays and not score any more runs. I had 3 perfect swings that all resulted in outs. I haven't tried another since.
When I’m in a groove I try to keep going. I am to the point where on the multi inning challenges I just quit if I don’t get it first inning to save time. Seems to be the quickest way but I can’t time it, work fucks up the numbers.
Pinpoint was a huge pain the first several times I used it but I figured it out after about a day using it some conquest games. First part (the motion?) is matching the outline/speed and the 2nd part (always straight-ish down connecting the two dots) is timing it when the ring closes on the bottom dot. Not sure exactly how your accuracy on the first part impacts where the miss is, but the 2nd part being early leaves the pitch up and late leaves it lower. Very helpful when trying to bury something offspeed pitch or put a fastball above the zone. Sometimes my cursor doesn't end up exactly where I want when I start the pitch so I can use the timing to elevate or bury it lower. Only difficult part is some guys pitching out of the stretch changes the timing. Several of the youtube guys linked earlier in the thread probably have a better explanation than what I just said, but I can't imagine ever going back to anything else now.
Also, the POTM cards make for a killer events lineup right now. Buxton, Vlad Jr, Ohtani, and Solak all seem to be really good for me in a few games last night.
It seems like my biggest issue is the initial timing on non-fastballs...the 2nd and 3rd parts are usually green or close.
Yeah I had to take some time and watch the little tracer demonstrate before I threw each pitch. Before I was just seeing the shape pop up and trying to power through it but once I slowed down and let it show me the entire thing, I picked up pretty quick.
Really not enjoying this game right now. It's just not enjoyable when it's not skill based at all. This is a HR This is an out This is an out
What's the fastest to rack up points for the 1st inning program? I'm 80,000 from the 650,000. I've collected all the Topps, and POTM guys. Finished the showdown and conquest. I'm thinking March to October is probably fastest for finishing it off.
Yeah I did notice that the other day, almost was trying to count like a beat to keep the timing. Would be cool if the controller vibrated like a metronome lol
I think that or exclusively pitching on RTTS. Was getting about 1-1.5k on 3 inning MtO games, and about 1.5-2k pitching if you can K a bunch of guys.
Only three cards I'm still looking for down the line until some more get released are Trout, Finley and Soriano. Pretty happy with my squad right now. Vs. LHP sub in Story at SS and Solak at 2B. Pretty nice speed at the top of the lineup and OF can cover some major ground. Not sure why it doesn't show Buxton 95ovr as my #2 Hitter/LF or Corbin as my #5 SP. Do have a RTTS SP I've been messing with when I only have ~10min to play a quick game. Hopefully get him up to a 90+ at some point
It's not remotely close to Shippett. And see above, same shit at Bayfront. I'm going to start playing at that massive old time stadium.
Just got a “Game Reward” and it’s an 85 Diamond Francisco Lindor. No clue how I got that. Card will be a silver soon at the rate he’s going.
I won’t have all the cards for the April collection to get Buxton, so I used 3 Topps Now cards for the collection which just unlocked the 1st Inning boss too.
Is there any reason to keep this card? The stats don’t look great at all for a Diamond. I can sell for like 11K (was like 55K in mid April wow). I don’t mess with the big collections really so figure just get stubs while I can. I probably won’t take my squad online until I unlock a few more guys + the servers are better anyways.
Yeah but you get all of them for free by doing the Topps Now moments and the POTM program A couple good cards in that set too (McMahon and Duvall in particular)
Nice didn’t realize you got them all. I have 5-6 but didn’t want to have to use stubs to buy the rest.
Damn faced Burnes for the first time and now I need that card. He shoved for 6 innings. Luckily he PH for him in the 7th and I was able able get to Shane Greene for an Ortiz 3 run shot and held on for a 7-5 win. Something felt weird in the game though. Like the pitch speed was turned up. He throws hard but only like 98. Greene doesn't throw hars either and his stuff was coming in hot too. Guy I played was 13-2 but only low 600's ranking. And I don't think pitch speeds change this year on high levels, just PCI. So idk what it was but definitely felt like it was turned up to 1.25 regular speed.
Anyone else having issues logging into TheShow.com? Trying to make some stubs this morning but can't get in.
