Down 2 in 9th, bases loaded, no outs. Perfect perfect by Ortiz to SS for a line drive out with the infield in. Next batter, perfect perfect by Chipper to 1b. Causally catches it, tags runner from 1b diving back to bag. Game over. RIP my controller.
Edward Cabrera is the hardest pitcher for me to hit and its not close. His stuff is good but I just can't pick him up at all. He doesn't have a crazy delivery put I don't see the ball until it's halfway to me. Had a game early where we were both using him and we both had 1 hit through 7 and he offered a friendly and I took it bc i was miserable. Just faced him again and I got 3 hit, 2 being cheap bleeders. I k'd 19 times. I normally k like 6-8 times.
Woke up early and got the conquest map knocked out. Actually a pretty easy one, only took me about 2 hours to complete. Heading to the Braves game tonight so I had to get my fix before hitting the road.
The pizza one? Did you think they kind of tweaked the simming? Feel like I lost a shit ton more fans than normal. Would sim like 30-7 and lose 15. Saw some people on Reddit were saying the same thing.
I definitely noticed that as well as the other teams attacking more. I didn't have any big losses like that, but I definitely ran through fans quicker than usual. Really liked the setup though. Made it real easy to beeline to each stronghold, and the teams on the map aren't the toughest.
So pretend that you skipped all of 2nd inning and have logged in for the first time in ages. What do first?
I'd do TA1 first bc, like Drunkle Tom said, Showdowns are worth 30 so you can knock a whole division with 5 of them if you're starting at zero. Lots of good cards in there and you get Jackie in the end. Then I'd do TA2. The bosses so far for both innings have sucked compare to the TA cards imo. You can make a cracked team from TA cards.
I’m assuming doing some of the TA1/TA2 stuff will also give you a pretty good chunk of XP which will go towards the 3rd inning. That’s kind of what I’m thinking/hoping because I want to try to unlock Foxx later today.
Who is everyone stocking up on for the next roster update? I added a bunch of Devers, Correa, Canha, and Moncada today. Not sure if I'm missing anyone else obvious.
I have some golds I've traded in for TA and havent spent much lately outside the guys I posted in my last update. Loaded up on tons of Mountcastle and Skubal recently.
Just lost 5-1 to a guy who scored 4 unearned runs and one run on an animation glitch while throwing Cabrera, Gagne, Lee, and Burnes
Friday after work: 0/4 on TA2 showdowns. Lost 2 in the miniboss stage. No less than 15 perfect perfect outs vs. bosses total. Yesterday afternoon: 6/6 on TA2 showdowns. Beat 3 in a row skipping straight to the boss bc I hated the team+perks and didn’t want to waste time with the missions on them. Numerous HRs hit by guys with ~40c/75p splits. During one of them my #4-7 hitters hit HRs on the first pitch of the AB vs Prior. #8 whiffed on the 1st pitch and sent the 2nd pitch yard. Game mode is far and away the most random shit in the game.
Just got home from a trip. What're the pointers for the new Showdown? Edit: Damnit... There isn't one. PLZ IGNORE
Also seems like unless you have those Exit Velo perks active on showdown your bat is about as effective as a pool noodle.
Haha wow just did a showdown draft and took almost all lefty bats bc most of the pitchers are righties. Jumped straight to end boss... and it was Cliff Lee. Was down 12-3 with 6 outs left and somehow came back to win it on a 3 run HR by Mike Ford.
I love being bailed out of a 2 strike swing animation when I swing at a pitch reaaaally inside. And then later in the at bat you hit a homer.
Haha that's rough. Worst for me was one of those "2 xbh in 2 innings". It says 2 innings but when you're in the game it shows "X outs left" and you can't make like 6. Well with 1 out left I doubled, thinking I'd beat it, kept going to 3rd to bc why not and was thrown out at 3rd. Well that was out 6 so I failed the mission.
Jeez this build is crazy. 125 contact 113 power 95 speed 99 fielding 99 arm 3b primary, can play any position but gets -5 for a secondary
PSA, not really sure how many people are into completing TA 2, but if you are interested, do all the exchanges. I'm up like 90k 3/4 way through it and I didn't even try to skimp and buy like 44 "72" rated players to do it cheap. Last year I definitely did that and it was fine, but they give you so many damn cards I think it's impossible to lose money unless you're buying straight diamonds for exchanges. FWIW, I used 83s as close to 1000 as possible. Even if you were exchanging diamonds I would be willing to guess it would be close to break even. Last note, of all the packs I pulled one diamond, Max Muncy who is worth about 5K and I didn't even sell him because I don't need to. Just as a point of reference, just didnt want anyone to think I am up 90k because I pulled a Trout or something. It's time and some stubs but virtually free money as you move through the progression.
Also, I was still so disgusted with the TA2 first run through showdown I didnt even complete that. Also already posted, but I went the conquest route for this. TONS of packs.
The Dante Bichette team affinity moment is giving me fits. I've had multiple HR games and multiple SB games but never one with both a steal and an XBH.
I am an idiot. Unknowingly used showdown vouchers towards the 5x redeem slot and now I can’t get them back. I’m at like 140pts for AL West and need the last 2 for the Ballin Pack instead of grinding ABs
