Ok I can't bitch for a week. Down 1-0, getting shoved by Crochet. 3b whiffed on a sharp ground ball to put a man on 1b and then this happened. Won the game 2-1. I'd be beyond livid if I were him.
I flip mostly topps now cards. I do small flips at a time, so profit about 400-1500 with each card sell. I stay away from the big cards because as ohhaithur found out the market is volatile and all it takes is a couple of dumbasses to undercut the card and tank your flip. The small cards sell very quickly as well. I won’t buy cards over 10k usually because the tax will kill your profits. I’m also a teacher so I’m on summer break and literally flip all day since I have nothing else to do. However the market really picks up at 6:30 and 10pm.
Right now if you try to flip the wander card you’re going to take a 2,000 stub loss because of the tax.
Anyone else buying the bosses for the inning? If so when? I was debating just buying them when the 4th starts since it they dropped so much. I did make a decent profit on them but it took a few weeks when it was all said and done but for the time I held them it was like a savings bond. Not worth it.
Yeah, all it takes is 2-3 guys to undercut the price by a few thousand and then you're SOL. It's back up to a 1600 profit already.
For the love of god. If you’re flipping cards please only undersell or oversell by 1 stub at a time. I fucking hate the idiots that go by 50 and 100+.
I’m about 250k away from being able to complete the live series. Then I want to buy Story and finish the 42 collection. So still about 500k more of flipping. Might die
I keep buying Wanders and getting a solid profit but every time, I am just waiting for the bottom to fall out and me lose quite a bit of stubs.
Yeah that will dip here shortly. I'd venture into TN players here shortly. You can make 800-900 on them all day. for 1/6 the price. Just pick out four that you like and hammer them all at the same time.
This, plus they sell much quicker and are low risk. You can make 500-800 off of cards that are in the 2000’s and they sell fast. At peak hours you can flip like 4 of those in a minute and make 3000 pretty fast
Finally beat my first Showdown. I thought I read you started with guys on 1st and 2nd to start but bases were empty when I got into it. Started at 15-9. Did the strategy of no swinging until 2 strikes. Proceeded to go 0 for my next 11 with 8 k’s. Got a couple guys on base but was down to 2 outs left when Eck finally got into the red. After that, I kept getting base hit after base hit with a sac fly mixed in. Had guys on the corners with 1 out left and my worst hitter up at bat (Silver Mark Canha). Hit a fly ball to left center, the centerfielder dove and I thought he caught it easily but it somehow got past him and rolled to the wall. Both guys on base scored easily. This one didn’t feel nearly as hard as the first 2, especially when you wear down Eck. This was only my 2nd attempt and I tried Lee Smith’s probably 5 or 6 times before goving up.
Currently “dotting” this dude up with Cabrera (13 Ks through 6IP, like 5-6 are looking). Too bad I’ve lost my inability to hit anything since I haven’t been able to play much the last couple weeks. Slumping bad and pushing LS down every swing like an idiot.
lol I ended up going yard with Winker in the Bottom of the 7th, then he quit once I struck him out to start the 8th. Cabrera: 7.1 IP, 17 Ks, 1H which was a bunt single early on that Vlad bobbled at first.
Made a dude quit in the 7th just now. He was hitting Verlander pretty well early, was up 4-0 through 4, then I shelled Rodon in the 5th to tie it up and got into his pen. Got a quiet top 7 out of Romo and into my home half just went off with 2 HRs scoring 5 runs and his ass quit before the inning was over.
Im always shocked how quick some people will quit. Especially now that my ranking is higher and I can’t seem to hit shit, it will still only take 1-2 HRs and they’re gone.
The timing for hitting gets me. Couldn’t tell you how many times my PCI is perfect but I’m a millisecond slow. On all star I’m great. Then from there I genuinely think it’s luck, because we are not 18. Going to need a few lucky bounces with the hope that I’d be facing another geriatric to get over the line.
Yeah timing is definitely what gets me. Guys start throwing upper 90s and blow stuff by me because I’m trying to be disciplined, then after awhile I just start swinging at everything because I don’t have time to react which doesn’t help. Now that I’m at the higher levels (for now) I definitely need to just put the controller down the first couple pitches and get a read for it. Usually after 4-5 innings I can start getting good contact, but discipline is still an issue and I just have to hope I guess the location right enough to score.
I thought they said pitch speed would be the same on all levels this year and just the pci would change?
I generally do not enjoy the game play at that level so I’ll just switch to events if it’s not HOF or some BR. My record for LS is significantly better as a result.
Not sure to be honest, I think it’s a lot faster. I’m still tracking the same via pci just not getting to even half of what I do on AS.
Chev was talking about "timing windows" last week and how they feel random. One game 98 will be hittable and the next game 92 will feel like 108. I found myself nodding along with him bc I feel that way too. And it's not bc of level changes, it can be 2 games on all star back to back and they feel way different.
Xbox users have a free 10 packs in the Microsoft store under "add-ons for this game." I didn't get anything good but my brother pulled 2 diamonds.
So tired of facing Cabrera. Yes, he's good, but the repetition is what makes it so bad. And to make it even worse, they just slapped Kluber's motion from last year on him, and of course we saw Kluber every other game for 6 weeks last year too.
My load up guys, nothing exciting, just hopefully some continue to rise through and at a min, easy exchanges for 25-30 a pop. Skubal, I cant quit him, 148 currently all bought at 25. Polanco Jorge Kirilloff Kaprielian over 100 Kemp Irvin Sims India pacey holy fuck he shot up like crazy! I have 57 of him I bought 25-30 range the last few days. Since this morning there was a larger order placed for 55, then someone put an order in at 75 (51 orders) and 12 more at 76. No idea why the fuck they would go that high unless they are trying to manipulate the Buy number? Possible, but that's a lot of work to make that happen. Adames Duggar Mid range flyers. Jazz Pretty much anytime I see him in double digits I am buying ten of him. Sixto started long tossing this week. If he does not pitch this season he won't drop in rank at all. Buy orders are being put in at low 100, no way this loses money. Castillo- He's absurdly low priced. I know he has struggled but there's no doubt he has the talent to be at least a gold and I think the game would get him there pretty quickly if he rips a few off. I think anything under 100 is solid for him. Stockpiling golds. I still really love Bichette. I think his counting stats in that lineup get him Diamond soon.
Haha wow Chev was 11-0 in BR. Went down 7-4 in the 3rd. With 2 outs... triple, single, 2 run HR, walk off HR. I wish I was that good at the game.
He was one of my first diamonds as well... I think I've hit 50+ bombs with him, so I really like that card. I loaded up on Ketel Marte thinking he'd go diamond -- very glad he did, especially because I hadn't seen much about him on youtubes and such. I meant to load up on Starling as well, but apparently I didn't
Also, lol at Ance repping Alex Verdugo... Currently at 240 sales per minute. So many people wildly undercutting the market for hot cards.... Offering like a 100+ more than the next highest offer. It drives me nuts.
