I popped in 2K21 for a bit at lunch today and I don't know whether I'm worse at that game or CoD. Either way you'll never catch me online in either because of it.
2k21 is so damn bad. They fucked up the builder so it doesn't make sense to make anything but a 6'7" PF. Literally 90% of players are that bc you get 20+ more badges than anything else. A 6'5 PG with 80 ball control doesn't get HOF quick first step but a 6'7 PF does. Wtf? And then they made dunks so broken. Anyone can yam on you at any time. We were really fucking good for over 3 years on that game, 90+ win %, beat the #1 team in the world, and we just stopped playing after about 2 months of 21. It was that bad. Even the best teams struggle to win 75%+ bc anyone can dunk and white (basically no PCI swings here) go in at an alarming clip. It's as fluke as The Show now and that's just not fun to me. That and no diversity in player builds just made it unplayable.
My 2 teammates went to CoD. I tried and my God I'm awful at that game. They are both really good but I can't play for more than an hour before I want to throw something.
Boy just scored in the top of the 12th in a 0-0 game by hitting a grounded to third and sending my runner from 2nd with no regard and his 3rd baseman doin a long jump throw and beat the throw home from first. Now the guy has paused for 3minutes.

I play all FPS games with a mouse and keyboard and XIM Apex adapter. You really need a controller with paddles on the back if you're gonna play those games with a controller.
If I had to give advice to a new player on the show it would be to not play ranked seasons. RS absolutely killed the game for me. I enjoyed the events for the most part. I think next year I’ll give BR a shot and maybe play that most the time.

Yea one of my teammates ordered one. He's pretty high up on it now an wins the tournaments they have on there. I'm just awful at it. Half the time I get shot I have to watch the video to find out who shot me.

Spoiler: adapter Spoiler: mouse Spoiler: keyboard I'd recommend trying the mouse and keyboard setup if you can.... whole setup is $200. XIM app on your phone is where you map out your keys and set sensitivity for hip and ADS. Now I play at my office desk on a monitor, but even when I played on a 65" laying on the couch the keyboard is small enough to fit on your leg in your lap and setup mouse on table next to the couch and can still play laying down if that's your jam. I went for years without playing any BF or CoD / any of the slew of battle royale games just because I was bad on the sticks aiming. If you ever played games with KB+M growing up it's just like riding a bike. If you didn't then it takes a little practice to get mouse "snap aiming" down. If you wanna go the paddle/controller route it's also about $200 for a paddle controller. At the end of the day you still have to be good at moving/aiming with joysticks or you're just getting killed all the time using a lot more expensive controller. The paddles keep you from having to take your thumbs off the sticks to do other movements/actions though which is the biggest flaw with playing using a standard controller. Taking your fingers off the sticks where you aim just so you can jump or crouch is a huge disadvantage
I mean if you’re that hardcore into the competitive scene then sure, but if you’re just into casual gaming then a regular controller will work fine, especially in BF.
Awesome thank you. Definitely going to go the mouse route, started playing that way growing up. The other controller isn’t that appealing to me, but cool none the less because I never heard of it. Also switched to a monitor a year ago and never going back. Agreed but when ranking up weapons and switching from sniper to assault or medic, my aiming is atrocious on the sticks. Anymore I primarily buy and play two games a year so price isn’t that huge a factor for me.
playing with a normal controller is fine it's just a looooot more enjoyable to be really good at shooter games. especially now that it's common to have cross-platform where you'll be playing against people using KB+M on PCs. Back when everyone was using a standard no-paddle controller in the Halo and early CoD days I didn't feel useless with a controller. The game has changed
spending $200+ on a good setup for it also doesn't even get a second thought from me considering how many times I've gotten drunk and stopped by the Stubs Store. At least it's a one-time purchase to get the setup and I've used it for ~6 games / 3 years now
I bought what's supposed to be one of the better TV's for gaming and I got better at The Show. Last year I was in the 600-650 range and this year I've been 800+ at some point each season. But watching all the YT guys play on monitors makes me want to try it. I just don't know if I'll enjoy it as much. I live having a big ass TV to play on.
If they made an aim bot thing for The Show, I'd pay stupid money for it and to have someone set it up.
I couldn't imagine trying to decipher balls from strikes on a 60+" on the wall several feet away from me. I'm 100% quasimodo'd 3 feet from my monitor when I'm hitting. Never played before I had this setup so can't speak to the difference in tv/monitor though. for shooting games it was a world of difference. Mostly because there's so much shit to see in the distance in those games and trying to keep up with a black or white dot crosshair on a big ass TV is something my eyes aren't capable of

so the xim apex adapter mimics a controller input just with sciencey magic and so you don't even have to have cross-play enabled to play with it in games.
