Na not yet, normally takes a few days. I'll make a build tonight knowing I'll make another one in a week. Takes a little while for guys like Joe Knows and Badgeplug to figure it all out. This year will be hard bc it seems like some apparel like sleeves will be a +1. So if you need 86 for elite contact dunks, you may be able to start at 80, get +5 for hitting 96/97/98/99/99.9, and then +1 for a sleeve or shoe, and end up at 86. You don't need to make your guy with 86 to start with. It's like parallels here. Saving 5 points here and there makes a huge deal. And we don't know if stamina matters this year yet either. 2kLabs will have videos up soon too.
Did all of the exchanges and collections for each division which gets you to 46%. I had 54 TA packs to open and got…one diamond lol
Get X amount of points in TA. If you do all of the exchanges and collections you get one legend unlocked at I think 60 points.
I just got Kershaw. Had a decent amount of collections done. Ended Up needing milestone so picked Kemp. Won’t use Pedro or George anyway. Also Kershaw looks kind of shitty.
Sucks they waited so late to release Mantle. 2k22 seems pretty good so I'll be on that now. Doubt I do any of TA4. 2k is a muuuuuuch cheaper game for me so that's good.
logged in this afternoon and sold a ton of excess legend and flashback diamonds I’ve been sitting on. Made a ton of stubs but left the house before doing any TA4 or looking at Kershaw. But seeing all the good things on Twitter about 2k has me wanting to download that when I get home. I haven’t played in 2 or 3 years and have the itch again now.
I just made 400k on topps now. I grossly discounted older TN and Monthly awards shooting up as high as it has. Not even joking, could have easily pulled in 750 to a mil tonight if I would have just bought a few of each, all at 5k. My shits not even done selling yet. Also, not selling Trout yet. Going to finish TA on the Event while it’s running and sell all my excess shit.
Is this a game like Show in that I need to get in now or can I wait and still get into it? Can’t imagine it’s going to be long before the show disgusts me, but it was a great run.
Yeah I was sitting on 23 Chad Greens from the July POTM program that I bought at 5k and they never rebounded above quick sell. Today they were at 12k
Some of the older TN and MA are well over 25k right now. Need to remember just buy one of all next time.
Willpépé there's several modes in 2k. They have MyTeam, that's a lot like The Show. You build a team through packs and play 5v5 vs another player. You control all 5. Then you have McCarver, which is like Ballplayer in The Show. You can make him how you want and play 20 seasons vs the cpu... or you can go to The City and play other people in 2v2 or 3v3 where you control only your guy. That's what most people do. It's like Ballplayer in that you start as a 60, can buy VC to upgrade to 85, then have to grind to get him to 99. You get badges, which is like perks on The Show. Playing with 2 randoms is tough though so you really need to meet people and get a squad. Playing with randoms is hard bc everyone wants to be Jordan and take all the shots and it just ends poorly. But yea you can start in a month and make a guy, no problem. Most people make new builds every few months to keep it fresh.
if i have the old gen now and play the build a player mode (3v3 and 5v5 rec room or whatever) does that player attributes and whatnot carry over when I buy a next gen in a couple months?
No, it's 2 completely separate games. Current gen plays on a cruise ship and next gen has a city. Player builder is completely different too.
Haven’t upgraded to next gen yet. Is 2k drastically different on current gen? Might just wait until I upgrade to a ps5 whenever that is if stuff doesn’t carry over across gens
In MLBTS news the new TA showdown is a cakewalk imo. But it’ll still take a ton if that’s all you do to finish
Welp, I think I am done here for the year. Definitely going to pick it back up when I am eager to hit some bombs but otherwise, it's been fun.
Same. Tossed my 1st build after 2 days. This year's game is way different and things that used to not matter now do matter. The last few years, you could get away having a 6'9" center that could get position and get a board. A 7' center will now snag over your head. So my 6'9" went away real quick and now made a 7' footer. Had to bring my driving dunk down from 92 on the smaller one to 75 now but whatever. 99 close shot and 99 post control is fun to use. But honestly when playing 3s, my job is to get board and block shots. Surprisingly my 7' guy isn't super slow so I can pick up on switches if I have to. Normally I play corner and let my 2 guards play the pick and roll though bc they both have 95+ steals so they lock it up.
How does everyone rank the Team Affinity cards? I haven't looked at every single one, but the 3 best I've seen so far are Sheffield, Mantle, and Larkin. I also smash with the Rutschman card, so that one is great.
Nothing, just the game ran its course for me. I play like one or two games a year anymore, I’ll probably just take off until I get the next one.
That Julio Rodriguez card is nuts as well. Just a righty, so no switch hitting but he was hitting like 700 plus for me in 10 event games and a few ranked. Just a sweet swing.
lol at 100 H/9 for the Scherzer 3K card. They can’t fix hitting, so they’re going to try to trick us into using pitchers who give up hits.
I haven't spent much time with it since Friday but the maxed Frank Thomas card is always a beast. Hits nukes and is so large that defense at first is usually amazing. Other than that, Mantle for sure and then probably just personal preference. Honus is always amazing if you like his swing.
This is usually about the time I take a break for a month or two. Come back during the post season for finest cards and any last juiced 99 legends. It's crazy to me how they haven't put some 99 legends in the game yet. Hank was a big new legend but no usable card yet. No maxed 99 Griffey. Feel like there was another big one missing but maybe it was someone they dropped in TA4.
I kind of thought they would put out all the 42 series “legends” as 99 by now. They just did Frank and Bob. Mo, Jackie and Pedro got theirs. still missing Willie, Cal, Ken, Hank and Babe.
What do you think they need to do? Genuinely asking, not here to snipe you, I don’t have any opinion on the matter. That said I’m convinced they’ve changed the mechanics for hitting again. I definitely could be on a cold streak but It’s just not the same, again.
Does everything open up to obtain again once they move on to MLBTS 22 (like endgame, not necessarily when the new game comes out)? Or are all the inning rewards gone forever once the inning ends? Starting to lose interest in the grind as there are a few other games I've been wanting to play, but there's still a piece of FOMO in me that keeps me playing. Just wondering if I can put it down for a while without missing out on too much even though I don't play much in the way of RS stuff anyways.
Usually in the last inning program they'll have a super long reward path with boss packs from each inning. And the last event will be similar with packs of all the previous event rewards.
idk - probably some combination of opening the timing window for decent contact while narrowing it for good/perfect contact, and as someone else predicted, they need to actually fix sinkers. Not really sure what the solution is but until they can make 99s better than Cabrera, they should keep working at it.
No idea WTF is happening but the last two nights I’ve played the pinpoint pitching is glitching. It will just stop like 2 seconds in and give me all red lines. It’s like my controller shuts off (it doesn’t)
Kind of why I hung it up for the year. Felt like hitting was different one day to the next, and down to the timing being glitchy.
This I’ve never seen before even on a 4FB where it’s just up and down, it like stops the entire process before I even get to the top of the circle sometimes.
Everyone come back, my team is nasty, I have a million coins and I finally got a home run of degrom online!
I played an event game yesterday and it was quite nice. Won 8-6. Acuna two blasts. Albies with another and a three run shot with 95 Henderson. I remembered I could not hit for shit with that card, and I was right. I was playing away at shippet so I could see stats, was hitting 057 with him and I did use him for a while. Used Albies a lot, love the switch hitters but that Acuna card is insane as well. Hitting close to 400 with him, must have just coinciding with a lot of other shit being released.
