Just played a guy with a similar team to mine. Hell he had Delgado and Edmonds too. So in a 6-6 game in the 6th, he brought in... 41 overall Mickey Janis to throw knuckleballs. He got 3 quick outs bc I hadn't seen a knuckleball this year but next inning a put up 3 and had 2nd and 3rd and he quit.

Don’t know how people can play the BR grind and enjoy it. Everyone I play with cheeses by matching up with someone IRL that’s located somewhere in the same area. Only way I could ever complete an entire program. Hitting with batters that have < 60 contact and like 35 power is a fucking miserable experience idc how sweaty you are. I had to give up on the gold Kenny lofton XP mission after 4 entries of him leading off tallied 175xp. I’ll probably get to 100 to get Edmunds but no further just because this event is trash and ranked rewards are meh. BR is definitely bottom of the barrel video game grinding for me. Worse than farming XP or whatever in and RPG
Funny you say that, I got 12 event wins playing just over a few hours so I was wrapped up early yesterday morning. Thought I’d jump into BR and give it a go again. My main reason was get those cards in the beginning just for collections. Bottom line, played three games and crushed dudes. Problem is, homers didn’t land, kills XP and counters. Next two games were 5 inning sweat fests. I lost both because of my RP was garbage and put it down the middle of the plate. I wasn’t even mad honestly, it’s just so fucking stupid. Don’t get me wrong, I do make mistakes but on shit like that? So it’s the same for me as moon shot. I hate the games that take forever. BR is moonshot with some shit players sprinkled in for no real reason. Like you said, I’d rather just start RTTS over, farm stubs and buy those dudes if need be. Hate it.
I don’t know the specific numbers but something like 2 diamonds, 4 golds and a lot of silvers/bronze. you get “missions” to get around 500xp gold / 400 silver / 300 bronze for 4 specific players of each tier that get you 4 points each towards the 100+ Pt program. So it kinda forces you into prioritizing those shit players in your lineup/order, ie- yesterday I played my first 4 entries with my top 3 batters being Gold Lofton, Silver Trae Turner and Gold Sizemore. I don’t think any of them have > 55 power from either side and I was probably 1/15 with them in my first couple entries
No, not all, if you look on the main page I believe it tells you how the draft goes. You get x amount of diamonds, golds, etc down to commons.
Yea fuck that. I've never messed with BR much bc it was hard to keep track of what players in the draft had missions attached. They should out a star or something above a draft choise that has a mission attached.
After getting Trae and Grady’s missions done I just kicked Loftons can down the road and am doing missions for pitchers instead. Not like I ever draft gold or Diamond SP/RPs anyway so at least doing these missions I’m used to using dogshit rated players pitching
Forgot to mention, first pitch lead off homer with bronze Jose. I couldn’t do that again with a thousand pitches. It was all downhill from there.
One of the YT guys said earlier this week he thought the next even was going to be bronze hitters. Thougt they may have done something like this with that with this BR. Sounds like it's a regular BR, which sucks when the missions cards are ass.
I may be wrong but I think they at least stacked them now so that you can select one of the guys in a pack during the draft. This way you have one of each without thinking about it or having a fucking steno pad. Last year I know you needed to hunt.
Eeeeeeeeeeeh that answer is relative. After playing the moonshot event and ranked games… these silver and bronze bats are all trash. Or they’re decent vs one side of the plate and horrible vs the other. You realistically get 4 good hitters (some gold player rounds you can get screwed bc of positions you haven’t filled too) or maybe just 2 because your gold players are people like Javy Baez who are gold and can still only hit vs one side of the mound.
this is true they have mission players grouped in choice packs early in 3 of the first 5 rounds of the draft and I’ve seen Wheeler in later rounds of the draft too
Yeah, fair and some people love moon shot and some love BR. I hate them both for the same reason, people just throw junk. Ranked or a normal Event is nice because if someone has that mentality they are generally quitting after the first homer. Edit: on the cards I absolutely agree, they are bronze and silver cards. Might be just me but Seaver is hard as hell to pick up. Faced him 4 games in a row in Events though so there might be something to that. May want to give him a spin in ranked.

That 95 looks great Some other new cards as well with a new 30k pick pack that guarantees 90-91 and 1:5 for a 95 Mookie, Glavine, Brandon Crawford I opened both right when it dropped, got 1 of each level. Sold Glavine for 91,500 for a net profit of 22k and kept Pierre. Loved that dude
lol fuck this game. Dude brought entire infield in except SS and he was back, not holding runner. I can get a bigger lead, right? Nope, SS can press fast forward and cover the bag. I assume he's run this play before, only reason to leave SS back and not holding runner.
Hahahaha! There’s also a glitch where you take a lead at second and somehow they can quickly shift their defenders in game. The game moves them to a different alignment, player teleports and, you gone. Happened to me on Events numerous times in extras. I also need to really figure out alignments for defense. I’ve slowly seen more and more wild bunters. My default first pitch has become high and out of the zone or in the dirt.
I’ve never understood how the leads/pick offs work. I’ll be at 2B with maybe an extra step off and I’ll see the dude running behind me and mash the back button and still get picked off.
I’ve had quite a few that right off the swing it says good timing then once it comes back to the batter it says late or early

The devs saying that this is how they like the game and that nothing is changing is enough for me to shelve the game. Game devs are terrible nowadays. This game is a carbon copy of 21 with worse gameplay. The things they changed in this game could be done in an update, not a whole new version of the game.
When picking a pitcher for your team, if it's laggy and a little delay going from pitcher to pitcher, you're away. If it scrolls like you're offline, you're home.
Agree but same can be said for almost all yearly games. Biggest issue is the hitting engine. 80% of runs come off HR.
