Guess it just doesn't make sense to me to play Yordan (I'd even put him in over Vlad in RF and platoon Yordan/Vlad instead), who has worse hitting stats, less than half the speed, and also shitty defensive stats; in the OF over Julio. Especially with the way this years game plays with balls to the outfield hanging 99% of the time. 99 speed is going to get to everything hit in the air, regardless of his reaction rating. The only player I've seen in 2 years actually show their bad defensive stats is last years Trae Turner Live Series. Hell last week I had a bloop to short right field that went straight through my Utley's body instead of him getting any kind of animation that would make me think he was aware the ball was in play. Think he's a diamond defender OF = speed and arm strength and Julio has almost max at both. The only thing that would make me consider not starting him indefinitely would be if his swing was as bad as Soriano's or Gary Carter's. I've never played with the Julio LS so I don't know if his swing is good or not. Who's in your OF currently?
PCA? Idk how you can possibly say Yordan over Julio. 45 speed is an absolute killer out there. Him and Vlad would also be -5 in CF. So Vlad is 77 fielding in CF to Julio 64. Julio speed and better bat make up for that imo.
Went on a run last night in Co-Op. Think we may have won 4 straight. Last game we played I went b2b2b
72/65 power over 125/125 is laughable, especially when defense matters very little in this game. It's all k's, pop ups, line outs, and hr's. Your CF isn't running down a ton of gappers. Julio's 98 speed more than makes up for his reaction.
doesn’t matter how much power he has if I can’t get the bat on the ball. I’ve always hit better with high contact high vision players; I think PCA might even be first on my team in homers. I hit rockets with him that I simply can’t get with any consistency with a guy whose vision is in the 50s. If you can…good for you? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but there are going to be 99s that don’t have to make that trade off in a couple weeks. And yeah, he does routinely run down gappers. He’s probably making one play for me every other game that any lesser fielder wouldn’t. I tried out a bunch of guys in center, mostly Diamond fielders, and they’re not chasing down the shit he routinely does.
We're talking 107/102 vs 102/103 contact. PCA doesn't have some huge contact advantage. But it's 72/65 powers vs 124/124. I think you're vastly overrating fielding bc of PCA's speed. Julio has that too. He'll occasionally get a slower jump but he's running down most things out there. If you want to argue you like PCA more bc of his swing or you're just good with him, that's fine. I played Soto way longer than his ratings suggested bc I love his swing. But Julio is a completely different tier from PCA based on ratings and the way the game plays.
And visions isn't a big deal to me. It's just you're outer PCI. I guess it helps with fouling balls off but that's really it.
Julio’s defense in the corner is gonna 61. Yordan’s is mid 70s. That’s a big difference and will cost me runs. The speed part is true, and I’ll try it. current OF: Yordan, Clemente, Ruth/Prato
Yordan Mitchell Clemente here at the moment. Clemente would probably be the guy bumped to bench if a change were made, I’m better with Mitchell than anyone else and Yordan might be my 2nd best Would need to be someone fast and with a big arm though
I want Jackie now but don't think it's worth buying all ASG cards now and selling the cards I get later through the program. I know they'll go down a good bit in value. I like Utley a lot so will keep him for now.
I probably will buy Julio and Soto now though. I don't know how much they'll go down. Iirc the top tier guys actually went up last year for a while before additional packs were added to the next program. That's like a month away though and I don't want to wait.
Yeah I’m assuming they all end up in the teens so I’ve been cruising through and selling. I’m through AL Central on the first set of choice packs and lowest was still 30-40K so far
Just had a Corbin vs Corbin matchup. He's filthy. I lost 1-0. Outfit him 5-2 but man Corbin is tough. Cutter and Sinker at 98 is rough.
Went back and checked the tweets on this. That is PS only. Switch sale ends 22nd and Xbox goes until the 30th!
Not sure how many guys they do for the different tiers but: Stanton - MVP Buxton Clase Manoah Mook Goldy/Musgrove/Helsley?
I didn't embarrass myself! Got down 5-0 but got it close late. Hit back to back HR in the 9th with 2 outs but Utley made a diving play in the hole to end it.
Last year I remember four. Peralta, Vlad Jr. then Xander and Liam. I packed no less than 75 Xander Liam cards. There may have been more, but seriously pulled so many of those two I won’t forget.
Considering the absurdity of the foul tip engine in this game, I honestly don’t think vision is an att I would look at this year. I’ve gone double-digit pitch ABs many times with shitty bronze BR batters
Assuming the HRD Soto and AS Harper cards swings are as cracked as their LS cards, they’ll probably be my corner OF. I could see Julio and the 95 Reynolds platooning in Center. Reynolds swing vs righties is so good. FOTF was Prob the 4th-5th best hitter overall in this years game for me. Utley, Soto and Harper are still in the .375-.400 range Who’s the preferred Catcher ITT? I’ve been crushing with Geovany. Never got to any bosses last program so haven’t used Pizza man or that Napoli that looks solid
Assuming the same pitch mix as Clase’s FOTF I’d love an upgraded version of him. I love facing him bc everything breaks the same way and it’s all fast. But he’s also been one of the better righty relievers all year for me
I like Mauer bc of his contact and he's a lefty. Probably should have a right handed catcher to my bench.
