Hopefully there's no HRD packs in the shark map. I loaded up on a handful of mid tier Pujols and Alonso. Last year they delayed a 2nd wave of HRD and ASG packs for what seemed like forever and the prices were pushing 80k for the mid tier iirc. Hoping for more of the same.
Also picked a live series Judge for 72K and he's almost back to 100k already. Will be tough to decide when to sell him off.
all three of those new future stars 98 cards pulled the top tier in 1st pack and took the shortstop. got low tier 2nd and took Josh Jung bc 100+ contact and would be 100+ power from both sides with parallels and plays every position
I take it all back lol. First time logging on since Friday morning and had enough to get Cutch. 3/3 with 3 HR in 5 innings before he quit on Hall of Fame.
10 HR in 5 innings off Corbin. Maybe I just needed a break, maybe he just sucked, idk. I did put on a new black control freak ring on and noticed a huge difference. I didn't realize they wear down as much as they do. Much more firm now.
I hate pitching with the new Corbin, cutter goes all over the place and people seem to be able to pick up the sinker pretty easily
I've struggled with him too. It's weird bc he throws hard and his shit moves all over the place but he gets slapped around.
i think there’s too much movement on the cutter such that it doesn’t tunnel as effectively. Plus the wildness runs up the pitch count
Also PSA because I threw a few not paying attention - the update to Hader made his 2 seamer his primary pitch instead of his 4th pitch, basically flipped with his 4 seamer
Only time he's gotten out is when I went to get tea for 1st ab kf the game and came back to an 0-2 count. Last 2 were off Nolan Ryan.
Saw on twitter yesterday that if you do March to October for DD XP, it gets applied to every major previous program in addition to the current one. So I can gain XP towards both the All-Star Program and Future Stars all the way back to the very first FotF. This may be a good way for me to pick up packs I missed but MTO is so slow. Anyone have advice on speeding up the time between "XP gates"?
Going to laugh when they give it to Freddie. But it really should be Judge or Riley. Probably give it to Riley bc he doesn't have a high card and Judge has several, just sucks none are usable.
Update: made it to the all star break and earned 21000 xp. Checked my packs and have a Takashi, Cover Athlete, Big Dog, 3 Flashbacks & Legends, 1 diamond jersey, and a "classics" pack all from previous programs. Plus 2 more All start player packs. Getting Brett may not be out of reach after all
How long does it take? When I saw XP counted for everything I was tempted to do it. What team did you use?
I used the Twins because they were in that second to lowest tier when selecting teams but I figured the AL Central was a pretty weak division. It took several hours but I was playing off and on while browsing the web this morning then I took a break to make lunch and finished up a little after that. I might start on the 2nd half of the season soon but I know double XP is coming later this week so I want to see if the big reward XP I get in MTO will double up too. .
I swear good/perfect windows are different for individual players. It's like the green window on 2k with Steph, it massive. Every swing I take with Cutch is good or perfect and even swings where I know I was off.
Most these AS22 cards I’ve used are varying degrees of crap but my word this Giménez card is fantastic. I don’t have Jackie yet (Was complete shit with his 88 so wasn’t in a rush) but he’s easily the best 2B for me and I loved FoF Edman
I'm glad they don't let you talk to your opponent bc I'd have just said some shit I wasn't proud of to the clown I just played. Created stadium, horrific shadow from the press box in a 1pm game so it never goes away. Awful batter's eye, like a small press box with lines across it. I k'd 16 times. He k'd 20 times in 8 innings but hit 2 HR on fluke pop ups that left bc he has the field as small as possible. He just makes it as hard as possible for someone playing their first game to hit and then tiny fences so he can get a lucky HR and win. I hope he gets a million frozen games.
Disagree on caps, it gives everyone a chance to have a free elite level guy and its not that much work, but definitely agree on stadiums. Some of the shit is so dumb.
CAPs to me is one of the things that makes me not want to play online much. Completely stupid and ruins things for me
Having CAPs instead of real actual players is beyond stupid and you disagreeing doesn’t change how I feel. It doesn’t ruin it any less for me because there are other juiced cards I’m not a big fan of future stars type cards but it’s infinitely better than CAP, at least it’s real players still
Ahh yea, they need to put height limits in. My guy is like 6'2", I used same height and weight as Soto. Brett has the same stats as my cap, Frank is right behind them. Cutch has been better than anyone, but limited sample size.
Went 0-4 tonight, felt like I played better in 3 of them and the other was the shitshow I posted about earlier. Had 1/2 many k's as my opponent in each of the other 3. Lost 9-8 in one of them, outhit him 18-10 but he had 6 HR and I had 2 when my lineup was infinitely better. It's really hard to get 18 hits and only 2 HR in this game, much less with the team I have. Last game I lost 3-2 and went 1 for 6 on line drives, 0 for 3 on perfect/perfect.
They were even in WAR for the month and Judge went on a heater like we've never seen in baseball. I'm not saying Riley is a bad choice, I think it makes sense bc Judge already has 2 high cards and Riley only has a gold bc his defense is atrocious, but I think it's laughable to say Riley clearly a better choice for any reason beyond that. The negative is that Judge, the best player in baseball this year, is unusable with his 2 high cards bc his contact vs lefties is too low. He hit .467 vs lefties in July though so that would have been corrected and he would have been useable.
Could have easily been Judge at 99 and Riley at the next tier, I assume the 97, and both would have gotten greatly improved cards. I assume Judge won't get one at all now, which is pretty lame.
