It's really not just about him being a Yankee. He's the best player this year and can't be used online on any of his cards. That's really stupid. If he's not the 99, he won't get a card, be has 2 other high cards. Should have just made him the 99 and Riley the 97. Both get elite usable cards.
Neither would make my team so it's not a huge deal. Just a dumb decision by SDS. They had a chance to fix an issue and didn't. Riley isn't a bad choice at all, I just think the other route would have made more sense.
You can't make that card with a CAP either... I tried every combination of diamond perks out there. You can't even get remotely close to maxing power out with 80 speed. I honestly think the closest I got was 70 speed and like 90/110 from each side. If someone has managed to do so I'd love to see the loadout. I gave up on a catcher this year and just kept mine as a SS because the catcher archetype is so limiting in how good you can make the batting attributes
They were tied in WAR and one of the players has multiple cards already. It's not a stupid decision by SDS it was smart and adds some variety + gives people a reason to actually go after the POTM card. Nobody would have given a shit about a 99 Judge except yankees fans because he already has a 94 and a 97. And you thinking they would actually use a potential 99 card to "fix his other cards" you're smoking something. The 99 would have looked like a carbon copy of the 97. If they picked Judge for the 99 the vast majority of us would pass on July POTM program altogether
at Catcher? When you get a chance screenshot the loadout that shows what perks you use to get that (assuming its just 99 power). I still got nowhere close to that when I tried making my catcher. My batting base stats weren't all at 50 but they were in the mid 40s Point still stands if that's the best you can do at 99 power you're a long way from "max power." My SS is like 115/120 from each side with ~75 speed. The problem I was running into is all the C diamond archetypes allot too much of the points to defense stats and not enough to batting
Why would the 99 look like the 97, which has terrible contact vs lefties, when he hit .467 vs lefties in July? That's the only issue with the other Judge cards, the lefty contact.
This is my SS. I wish I could lower Arm and upgrade fielding/reaction but I can't without taking a hit to hitting. I could also get a +1 by using the Ohtani bat but it's ugly so I don't.
because you can't add 30 to contact vs. lefties and only go up 2 overall on the rating. Would they nuke his defense? doubtful. Going from 97 > 99 doesn't give you that much leeway to juice up contact enough for that 99 to be as good as you want it to be without nerfing the shit out of something else that probably wouldn't make sense (unless he was dogshit on defense in July). Just going off of other players out there that have multiple cards from different programs that are very close in overall. They all look basically the same with a +4 here and there. Not a +30 on Contact L
99 isn't the real cap. Once they hit 99, they can do whatever. Iirc Brett would be like a 122 or some shit if it didn't max at 99. They can make someone 125/125 with 99 speed and defense and they'll still be a 99.
Judge will get a 99 Finest that is off the charts. Sure it sucks you have to wait a couple more months for it but that's more likely to be the amazing card yankees fans want compared to giving him a 99 POTM they'd have to dumb down because they know he's also getting something at the end of the season.

I said the Judge card YOU would want as his POTM card is too cracked for a POTM 99 HE isn't too good to be a POTM. Your idea of what his POTM 99 would be had he gotten it is too good for that program. You essentially want a George Brett version of him. Which is one of the huge collection rewards worth millions of stubs and not a monthly program card you get for free
Bumping him to 110/105 contact wouldn't make him some game breaking card. Leave everything else the same.

For the record, Riley was the 3rd worst defensive 3b in baseball in July. He's 2nd worst on the year. He'll have 89 defense at p5 lol. But noooooo can't have a totally juice free POTM.
This is the perfect example of guy I’d love to use but at this point in the year there’s no chance he makes my team. Wanted to like his low diamond early in the season but low diamonds always have some huge flaws that kill them.
