Stanton is a whopping +5 over all 4 hitting categories. Brett is +7. Riley is +26 over Jackie. So yea, he's right on par with the 99s that are super expensive.
I'm happy that they didn't choose a 3rd Judge card and that a new free card is good enough to play LF for me instead of Pujols rookie card, which for the record the Riley card is barely better at batting than the 95 Pujols... because his contact vs. Lefties is +27 over a 95 overall. WOW that's crazy. Kinda sounds like the point I was belaboring today.
If you were playing 95 Pujols with all the other free options, that was your choice. Bottom line, Riley is right there with Brett and Stanton, something you said a free POTM couldn't be.
I didn't even consider the NL/AL 99s. So he's worse than McCutchen, Brett, Stanton, Frank and comparable to Ortiz.

DBL's Judge would have been better than both of them. Riley came out and was not as good as either of them. THAT was the entire argument and it's a shocker you couldnt keep up. I never even said what a 99 Judge should look like. The only thing I said was to raise his lefty contact. You melted down and said he'd be too good to be a 99, as if 99 is the cap and they can't go higher and just show it as 99. You could take the Riley card today and apply it to Judge and it works. My original point of being fine with it bc we already have 2 high Judge cards, even if both sucks, stands. Any argument past that is dumb. Riley is a fine choice, but it very easily could have been Judge.

This is the shit that frustrates me. I'm not great at this game so having bad luck is just a kick in the nuts. I k 5 times, he k's 10 times, but I go 2/7 on line drives while he goes 7/10 for 3 HR. And he was pitching Randy too. And it seems like this luck comes in bunches. I know I play worse than others at times but this is the randomness that just takes the fun out of games. I don't mind losing but rng luck this lopsided in one game sucks balls.
Tried messing around with this tonight. I was able to get a C up to 95 overall with 83 speed at 90/121 vs R and 90/119 vs L with good defending stats using: Showboat, speed I, contact I, power II, and contact II with top end equipment

their batting is because there's no "bad defense" archetype for C. All 3 of the diamond ones get your defense pretty high up there, as opposed to SS my guy is all arm strength and pretty much Tatis in the defensive stats Overall rating my C is like a 92 and SS is an 85 because of this
anybody that would be upset at 99 Griffey being too good just doesn't like baseball. Free card or not his splits vs. Lefties will probably look like Utley's
I’m about to feel like a fucking idiot. What are the C archetypes? I don’t have any that show preferred position as C and I definitely have ones that have poor defensive stats. My Diamond are Showboat (power/fielding), Anomaly (power/speed), and Duke (power/contact)
oh no those are for shortstop I think and none of the secondary positions actually work (at least last time I tried in ranked which was months ago every pitch got dropped). you have to start a new character and choose catcher as your position and do the Bronze > Diamond progression to get the actual catcher primaries
This is what I get with my guys. First one is the main guy I made and was originally a SS and then restarted his career and chose C but with all the same loadout. Lets me play in RTTS at C but I don't have fielding moments turned on so he may be dropping pitches in the minors and I don't ever see it. But this one (Duke) is 115/120 from both sides at SS with 75 spd you can see the "secondary positions" are meaningless it says out of position for all 4 of them on lineup screen Spoiler This one I started as a C in day 1 as a second player in RTTS and got 3 completely different archetypes to choose from. His batting isn't maxed vs RHP but I'm pretty sure 95/105 from each side with 75 speed is the best Catcher you can make or close to that. Spoiler

Finished shark map this morning, will be grinding the rest of the Minoso and POTM program in mini seasons this weekend where I’m close to the playoffs. These are rhe games I hate. I go 6/19 on hard hit balls, he goes 3/4 and wins bc he got 10 hits on only 4 hard hit balls while i got 7 on 19. Shit is infuriating. 2/10 vs 3/4 on like drives.
