Had to move my monitor back upstairs for work reasons. Need to mess with my TV’s settings or something, just doesn’t feel the same, and the monitor wasn’t even a gaming one. Think the more compact screen helps.
From what I've read, normally monitors have way less input lag than tv's. I bought an LG gaming TV that has low lag for a TV but it's still like double a monitor.
That’s what I’ve read as well. The monitor I was using isn’t anything special, but definitely feel like the game runs better on it. Or at least in my head it feels better. Read an article about recommended TV settings for gaming and it appears to have helped a little bit, but won’t be surprised if I go back to the monitor soon.
Careful doing this. Different year, same glitched fucking game. Championship series my 3 wins were just given to the computer team. Didn't notice shit until I was loading into the 3rd game and it said 2-0 LIW. And saw during the game every time I scored the little "who's gonna win" dot on the scoreboard went further down on their side instead of mine. Lost out on 16K TA points and whatever stubs and XP come with winning it. not sure if there's a way to appeal that with SDS twitter or something like people do when they're missing stubs. Not a total waste bc you get 24K TA points prior to the championship but still for about 4 hours of grinding to not get the biggest reward that's fucked

Yea I'm a huge fan of their new system this year. The live series players / lower diamond "henchmen" will stay relevant in events and TA as well as when the SuperCharged feature starts.... and some of the batters are cracked. And there's a ton of diversity potential in lineups right now, with the exception of SPs. Lefties in particular. Right now you can just stack your lineup in all the ranked modes with lefty bats or RHP killers. Which most people do and it makes my boy Glavine's 88 diamond TA card a great option. By mid-season 2 the game and card options are going to be really wide ass open. Don't mind that everyone's gonna have 97-99s everywhere since batting isn't HR Derby if you play in a non-coors MLB stadium and none of the 99 SPs are anywhere near as shitty to face as 99 Randy was last year. Sasaki is only tough if the user is nailing their location and mixing pitches really well. Yu and Ohtani honestly aren't even tough to hit after facing them 30 times already. Also figured out in Co-op (i guess would work for other game modes but those all factor in fatigue from game to game) one person can put the WBC RELIEF Ohtani in as their RP and you can sub him in for one of the stock players to give one guy 3 diamond hitters, instead of 2D and 1Gold. Since there's no penalty for subbing in SPs (which I hope they change) you don't need all 3 of your team's relievers. Only thing is that Ohtani card's hitting isn't much better than Joey Gallo. So it's not a super cheesy move to make.
last year I pretty much had the same 2-3 cards I played with in co-op every game for months. I don't think I've used the same batters in any games so far this year. All the 97s are really good
I agree that having a ton of 97-99 cards will increase lineup diversity. Previously like 6 of the 8 batters were always the same in most lineups bc there was only so many 95 overalls or whatever at that point in the season. Now there's 50 97+ to choose from lol.
It's also great that when a new shiny card comes out it's not a race to grind and get them to stay competitive, and people who cheese grind don't get the benefit of selling those cards for absurd $400K+ prices for being super early to the market.
The common and bronze prices on some of these collections are nutty. At the end of the night I put in sell orders for 15-20 duplicates I get throughout the day and have been waking up to like $8-10K stubs every morning. Insane how much the Reds collection costs considering how bad the cards are.

This “stat cast” thing you can see by hitting left on the D-Pad is kind of cool. Doesn’t impact the gameplay but still cool to see some of those stats I guess.
Tried to do a Road to October with the Tigers and couldnt event make it out of May without rage quitting the entire mode lol
Took a few days off, just busy with other stuff. Finally finished WBC last night and played my first ranked games. I guess I'll start on TA. So many freaking cards right now. The issue I see is if you're doing this naturally and not buy a ton of cards, it'll take a really long time to complete set 1. And then you only get to use those rewards for a few weeks. There's 260 freaking cards in set 1. I'm at like 50 lol. Starting to think the live series collection is more valuable than I realized bc they'll be on your lineup all year and then you can patchwork the rest of the lineup with series 1, 2, 3, etc cards.
Chase rate I hope they stay pretty loose with the supercharging, that will definitely help. Haven’t played against a human this year but I do like how the game plays so far.
Going to Vegas next weekend, so trying to lay low this weekend. Sounds like the perfect excuse to do some grinding.
for online purposes I hate having juiced cards right off the bat. Just no way to ease into the game when everybody is throwing a 97 pitcher. First time playing online in a year and trying to hit 97mph sinkers and cutters is beyond frustrating. Might end up being my earliest exit with the show.

I like that there's so many cards but I hate it at the same time lol. I want to use Chipper, Babe, Pedro, etc but idk if I'll ever get to them. I can still have a competitive team with cards just from WBC. Sure Babe is better but not a completely different level. I wish they'd made the set 1 rewards like 150 cards instead of 260. It's just too much in too little time.

I'm already at 90 Set 1 cards and haven't been buying Set 1's until this weekend. I'd been using any spare stubs to get all the cards in the NL and just leaving the big ones: 3 mets, mookie, arenado, machado. I think I bought 5 of the < $20K Set 1s this weekend. You get a TON from the TA cards due to there being 5 of the 92 captain cards in addition to the 5 97ovr. TA is definitely a grind but the mini seasons thing makes me think I'll finish it this week which will put me ~10 cards away from chipper and there are ~15 more S1 cards currently at or under 20K. Although mini seasons is finding creative ways to fuck me. 2nd season through I've only played/won home games so far. Look at the standings and for some stupid ass reason the majority of the teams have played 2-3 fewer games than me so really hard to gauge if I needed to play all 4 of my away games left + 2 home games to get in (14-15 wins is generally enough to get in). So I SIM L the first away game and win the 2nd one + my 2 home games to finish the season. Going into the final home game I had still played 3 more games than most of the #2-#6 teams. Won my last game and didn't make the playoffs at 15 wins. Really special game mode I tell you
Your wildcard can be used until the end of August, which is when my playing the game falls off pretty hard. I love the option to collect these instead of live series. Once I get Chipper I'll be set for the game and prob go back to saving for the LS guys in the NL
Yea it's just a ton of offline play. I got about 6 hours in this weekend and played nothing but ranked. I think I'm like 12-6 but at least 4-5 of those W's were people quitting out after a 1st inning HR. The ranked rewards are really easy, just need 100 points iirc and you get 5-10 for a lot of things. If you play 15-20 full games, you'll get all the rewards. Playing mini season after mini over and over for hours just isn't enjoyable. At all.
What park? feel like Coors and MiLB parks are the only place we get this type of game. Most of my event games have been less than 3 runs scored total. Have a ton of small ball games too. Honestly seems like it's people aren't as good at pitching and it's not impossible to hit elite SPs that throw over 100 this year, which I'm perfectly fine if they don't change that. We had so many Co-Op games last year that had fewer than 5 runs scored... like 75%+ of the games. The only times we could score enough to make the game actually fun it was obvious the other team was trash. This year even sweats that throw 99Ovrs with nothing but dots are still hittable.
That last sentence is 100% true. I just use Mini's as something to do if I'm taking an hour break WFH or waiting on a COOP game to finish so I can join a team. It's taken the place of BR/Events for me so far since there's a lot more Set1 rewards in TA. Once I get TA done I'll go back to more BR/Events. The quitting out timer is a fucking problem. I love the idea of it for 1v1 online play. 100%. But the servers right now are STRUGGLING with co-op games especially 3v3. We had 4 freeze offs last night out of 6 games. And we don't know how long it is for a quit game to get "off your record" but we've all had to quit 1-2 freeze offs in the past week so last night after I got tired of waiting 45 minutes for one at 8:30pm and wanted to continue playing, I dash boarded and came back to a 30 minute cool off before I could play again. Same thing happened the next game after we waited that out. We messaged the other team and they were all at 3+ hours of cool off if anyone quit.
I think it was year before last that you could play Showdown over and over to complete TA. After like the 10th one it's fucking miserable. I get having offline ways to get cards but the offline vs online grind should be somewhat close. You could play 500 online games and still not finish TA, that's a joke. You're forced to play brain dead cpu games for hours upon hours. By far my least favorite aspect of the game.
Eh you could put the PXP guys in your lineup in ranked/events as well as stack your lineup with different division players to get the TA missions done. I played 2 teams like that in the 3 solo ranked games I've played. All comes down to how much you value your online records in that case.
Yea but it'd take 2.3x as long doing it that way. Fuck my record, it's the time I hate. You can do it in mini season way quicker than I can in online and that's not how it should be.
Depends, if you get a game where you hit, there are multipliers. I did a lot of my shit in just events last year.
