I saw the rewards for completing all of those and it does look tempting but I don't know that I have the patience. Keep us updated on how it goes.
Almost halfway, 29450/69550 for XP. It’s a grind, but most of the hitting is veteran, and I knocked most of the pitching out last night. All single games so no backing out to restart
2 starts with Saberhagen and I like him especially for such a “cheap” high 90s starter. Just had a complete game, with 16 Ks
Took out a Prestige 26 in ranked seasons. 3-2 win, that one felt good. Now to get no-hit by a bronze level guy.
That Stanton HR Derby card is crazy. 125 power vs lefty and righty with 90 contact vs right and like 115 vs lefty.
Beat a 26 Diamond just now. Was tied 2-2 and had a PH 3 run blast in the 7th. He tried to friendly quit (lol) and then disconnected when I denied.
Yeah, I’ve tried to mix in actually tracking the pitch a little more. If I notice early though that I’m way off, I’ll try to go back to just keeping it center and being way more patient.
Trying to sell Foster to get Judge and its saying I have to "unequip or unsquad" him before I can sell? I put him on my bench and it still says that.
Ive had this happen make sure he’s not on your lineup or bench for ranked season, but also make sure he’s not currently in an events squad lineup.
The lefty or right matchup is why I wish it said the SP before hand. I get people would quit if they saw Hal or whatever, but hell just tell us LHP or RHP.
Not speaking to my wife at the moment. I was up 4-2 on a Prestige level guy in the 8th with 2 outs, one on. She walked in front of the TV while on the phone, mid-pitch. Hung a changeup, tie game. Played until the 11th and just had to turn it off to eat wings I'd taken off the smoker in the 7th. Worst part was I was 1 out away from getting to break out Mo.
Two of the worst things about this game. 1. You can lose focus for 0.5 seconds and you’re screwed. 2. Anytime I’m trying to wrap a game up to do something I either rush it and give up a HR or end up having to quit in extras.
Just lost 2-1 in the 12th. I had 7 hits and he had 10, and we score 3 total runs lol He was like level 710. Expected to get smoked.
Damn, I just got off because my dog is losing his shit at the fireworks. I would be up for it though next time we’re both on.
Damn think I just had my most fun game so far. Kruger vs Felix, both teams 97+ across the board. He was Prestige 26 but barely over.500 record. - Didi put him 1-0 with a bomb in 4th - Thome barely kept one fair down the RF line for a 3 run HR in the 6th to put me up 3-1. - Stanton (me) climbed the wall in LF to rob Ellsbury of a game tying 3 run HR in the 8th. - Didi hit one 40 rows deep two batters later to tie it. - Stanton (me) hit a missile off the top of the wall in the 9th but was held to a single bc he hit it too hard. I haven't seen another batter hit line drive ropes like him. - Thome then flied out to the track in dead CF. Thought I'd won it. - 2 out in the bottom of the 10th, I ph Braun (the one with 110 contact and 120 power vs lefties) for my pitcher vs his lefty. 2 strikes and he tried to bury a slider down and in and i guessed on it. Hit one 443 to left CF to walk it off. Absolu bomb and announcer said something something Santa Maria way before the ball even cleared the wall. Thome is a monster. Launches balls even with slightly early/late swing. Braun is amazing vs lefties. My first righty off the bench vs a lefty, even with Cabrera and JD on the bench.
Playing a Ranked Seasons game over lunch. Probably shouldn’t do it, but I didn’t play yesterday and I got the TA3 version of Hersheiser so want to check him out.
There's so many good cards now. I wish I had waited to build my team. Would have saved a ton of money. And man I really fucked up by exchanging some legends for no good reason. I have Hornsby and Tino just wasting away off my squad. I can't sell them. If I could, I could use those stubs to buy even better players.
Maybe a dumb question, but can you have more than 1 of someone on your team? Like can I have a Thome at 3b and 2 as lefty PH's?
Nope, basically one guy per lineup. Even if it was a case where you had like a gold version and a diamond version of the same guy.
Ahh gotcha. Wasn't sure if it was always like this. You can basically field a team of 97+ at this point and stay under 50k or so for each guy.
Cobb is the best leadoff guy in the game. Change my mind. I'm hitting .500 with him since learning drag bunts are unstoppable unless you play halfway defense. If he doesn't pop it up or get it too close to the pitcher, it's a hit. 2b has no chance. His 99 speed can turn that into a double most times after a SB. And that speed in CF tracks down anything. And he's cheap.
Yeah, at least in the few years I’ve played this game it hasn’t. IMO they always do a good job of putting out content and allowing you to field a good team without feeling like you have to spend 100s of real dollars. That said, they’ve never had a 99 innings boss like they did this year. Plus this huge Stage 3 dump of basically 30-some 97-99s that are all sellable. Which makes it so cards seem to be cheaper than normal.
1) No one likes a fucking bunt cheeser 2) Anytime I see Cobb I’m throwing him a high slider and getting a pop out
I’ve been impressed with Lou Brock as my lead off guy. He’s got 125/104 contact and 71/79 power. Also 99 speed and stealing. I think he’s like 26-30K stubs right now. He’s also in the 70s for fielding related attributes too. He’s hit a couple bombs for me too that were early timing.
I ran out Cobb for a long time I agree with you. New Eric Davis is the same card but he has a stronger arm and significant power. I think he’s my new favorite card. I love the fast guys, I don’t get on too often but when I do I need to have some burners on.
Davis has 99 speed? That shit is amazing in the OF. I wish Cobb got a jump like Judge but man once he gets going he just runs it down.
Wow, just won 4-3 on a walk off from Reggie. Was down 3-2 entering the B9. Orel was solid though he went 7IP and gave up 1 run which was cheap. Had 12 Ks. He doesn’t have overpowering velocity but he can go from 92-94ish down to 70s with his breaking stuff which is what I like to keep guys off balance.
I’m 20 program points away from Walker. There’s a 15 point mission for 11 hits by an “all star” card which for me is Henderson or Granderson, I’ve been stuck at 9 because I hit like crap with both of those guys and they aren’t usually in my lineup. Also can get 20 for 5 RBIs with Reynolds but he’s atrocious for me online.
Do events count for stuff like that? I played a few guys that would quit after the first 2-3 batters and they were all batters that could be upgraded.
