What size are you looking for? Nike sold out but other sites have them. That's the original colorway of the Air Max 1, aka the greatest shoe ever made.

Air Max 1 OG Red is the name of them.

    Here they are on Champs:

    https://www.champssports.com/product/nike-air-max-1---men-s/08375103.html

Might be on sale somewhere but not sure where and I don't have time to search right now.

New Volt/Black Zoom Fly's for running

    New Karhu Synchrons

Then two new trail shoes that I'll post when released. They look better than any other trail shoe I've worn though.

Also the new Asics Metarides which are their 4% competitor but haven't worn them yet

dblplay1212 explain to me how you could get me those for $160. Is secondary the only way to get most of those? TBQH those prices are more than I want to spend on shoes.

Which ones? The white Jordans with red trim? They haven't released yet. They release in 2 weeks iirc. Retail will be $160. What you see listed on StockX is people with pairs selling them early. If that's the shoe you want, I'm sure someone here can pull some strings to get a pair when they release.

And yea the rest of them are all shoes that released in the last 6-12 months and are sold out so secondary is the only way to get them. We're not putting in some gr's here man. Not going to do it. We'll get you laced up right.

Yeah fortunately they fit my feet pretty well, because I love that colorway. Not an everyday runner, but for longer stuff. The Metarides feel different than any shoe I’ve ever worn (even just trying them on). A weird ridge in the middle for energy return.

Also totally forgot I got some blackout On Clouds. Such a weird brand/look, but into the blackout version. These but the logo/accents are all black. Technically a runner but they’re surprisingly uncomfortable

    haha my bad

GR = General Release aka shoes that sit on shelves for weeks/months

I wear a ton of Air Max general releases. Jordan Brand is a bit different though. They'll make some absolute trash general release pairs and you don't want those at all. Then they'll make a really nice pair so of course that pair sells out instantly. There's not much middle ground with them. At least they've gotten to where they make enough of most of the good stuff to where you can get it for slightly over retail after if you miss on them at release.

Thanks. I hate to bog down the thread with so many dumb questions but here goes another. What’s considered “GR trash” is it look quality release numbers?

Being old I don’t want to look dumb in something that I can’t pull off but I also don’t want to waste money.

You're not bogging down anything. I had the same questions when I came in here 3 years ago.

Quality more than anything. The leather will be closer to cardboard than actual leather. Stuff like that. Or it might just be a terrible colorway.

Like I'm not letting you wear this. I just won't.

You can bid or click buy and just pay the price a person is selling it in your size. It’s eBay but the seller has to send it to StockX first where they verify it’s authentic before sending it to you. It’s legit and I’ve bought many pairs from them. Fuck GOAT.

Green button is the lowest ask, red button is the highest offer. So right now someone is willing to sell for $100, someone is willing to buy for $90. You can buy them for $100 or you can hit the green button and hit "place bid" and offer like $95 and see if he comes down to your price. If it were me, I'd just buy them for $100 and be done with it.

To piggyback on Hoss Bonaventure StockX is just a middle man. Someone listed their shoe on StockX for you to buy. When you buy them, they'll ship them to StockX. StockX will then verify they are authentic and not worn. When they do, they pay the seller and then ship to you. Normally takes about 10 days to get them. That part sucks but you know you're not getting fakes, which is a massive issue in this industry.

If you don't mind getting them used, I typically find Jordans for significantly cheaper on Grailed. And often times they are 9-9.5/10 and look just as good as new.

Three or four trash IV's. A couple of 1's that are decent, phantom and crimson tint. Then the Travis Scott 1's. Another Tinker 3 that i had high hopes for but pictures finally came out yesterday and theyre gonna be a no for me. A grey 13. And a Nike SB Jordan 1 collab. The first one is a black and white that is meh but the second one that doesnt have a date yet looks a lot better.

Are You Too Old to Wear Cool Sneakers?
We’re in a golden era for covetable sneakers. But at a certain age, should you move on from Nikes and Adidas? Plus: A guide to suitable trainers at any age

When “Seinfeld” premiered, Jerry Seinfeld was in his mid-30s, right around the time many men begin to question whether their sneakers are age-appropriate. PHOTO: ALAMY (LEFT); GETTY IMAGES

BEFORE ERIC APPLEQUIST and his wife embark on a night out, he stops and asks her one crucial question: “Is it okay for me to wear sneakers to dinner?” Most waking hours, the 37-year-old client strategist in Kansas City can be found in sneakers. “I try to get away with it as much as possible,” said Mr. Applequist, who is partial to colorful, covetable Nike s. “I dress pretty normal—jeans and a button-down and a sweater—and then I let my sneakers be my accessory.” But though this formula passes muster nearly anywhere he goes, as his pre-restaurant inquiry indicates, he still struggles with the question of sneakers’ appropriateness in certain contexts.

For men somewhere between the ages at which you acquire a learner’s permit and start carrying an AARP card, this is a common concern. Sometime in their 30s or 40s, men wake up one morning to discover that they’ve unexpectedly crossed over into a style abyss. Gone is their frivolous youth, when fashion mistakes are a rite of passage. Still far off are the retirement years, when the fear of being judged eases and they can find comfort in the warm cushy embrace of Rockport-style walking shoes. “On the older end of the spectrum and the younger end of the spectrum you get a pass,” said Henry Brownstein, 38, a commercial litigator in Washington D.C. who generally constrains his sneaker-wearing to the gym. “It’s hard to [dress] well with sneakers.” He makes an exception for Adidas Stan Smiths, which he said have “a lower profile and still look smart.”

Men of all ages are bombarded with ads, articles, social-media posts and other “content” that fetishize the look of sneakers, but so rarely mention how they could (or should) be worn in the real world. In the 50 years since those low-key Stan Smith tennis shoes were first released, sneakers have gone from minimalist to maximalist. Many lack discretion: Nike’s featherweight Moon Racer QS, for instance, sits on a tapered sole that looks like a folded tortilla while the Adidas Ultraboost 19 brings to mind a Saran-wrapped sweater. Puma’s Cell Endura Patent 98 (a reissue of a 1990s shoe) has the neon palette of an old Nintendo Gameboy Color. Meanwhile, luxury designers have gotten into the game with their own purposefully ugly and definitely expensive athletic shoes. Sneaker companies, like record labels or movie studios, have calendars that chart a deluge of new releases. It’s enough to make a man say “no more!”

Though he owns around 40 pairs of sneakers, Mark Noë, 46, bypasses the splashier shoes. The CEO of a New York brand consultancy, he almost entirely restricts his collection to “retro-leaning styles” that remind him of his youth. That means: New Balance’s grayed-out 996s; Adidas Grand Prix tennis shoes, which feature only neat three-striped branding; and 12 pairs of Common Projects’ ultra-pared-back leather lace-ups.

Minimalist shoes have become such a signature for Mr. Noë that one year, as a gag, he bought his entire staff Common Projects shoes so they all could match. He regularly takes meetings with architects, product developers and other businessmen all clad in similarly streamlined sneakers. Mr. Noë’s subtle kicks wouldn’t satisfy thrill-seekers, but they’ll never make him look like he accidentally grabbed his children’s shoes. In short, their style befits a boss. “With any of my sneakers, I can dress up, dress down, no problem,” he said.

For other men, strictly limiting yourself to safe, flexible kicks squelches much of the fun to be had in this moment of sneaker-mania. “I like a lot of color,” admitted Mr. Applequist, who relishes the opportunity to wear his lime green, elephant-printed Nikes or color-shifting Jordans to work. This thirtysomething can’t imagine retiring his extroverted sneakers even as he gets older. And why should he? They haven’t elicited an uproar at his office so far.

Sneakers are becoming increasingly expensive and, for younger men, out of reach. Brands like Balenciaga and Gucci have made 4-figure sneakers a thing, and even kicks from a legacy company like New Balance can cost over $200 now. The sneaker collectors of today are not children, begging their parents for a pair of Jordans. They are those children all grown up, with considerable disposable income to blow on sneakers. (Fans of the HBO series “Succession” will recall wannabe-CEO Kendall Roy cradling a pair of Lanvin sneakers in the back of his town car.) Mr. Applequist has found that his sneaker spending has “only gotten worse” as he’s gotten older and upgraded his living space.

Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, 57, has taken to wearing Versace’s $995 gigundo-soled “Chain Reaction” sneakers; John Mayer, 41, regularly takes the stage in neon-accented Nikes; and 66-year-old Jeff Goldblum has been seen wearing Balenciaga’s $895 bulbous, pre-distressed platform sneakers. These men aren’t the most approachable style icons, but they are important envelope-pushers. Further, as MarketWatch noted last April, executives like Google co-founder Larry Page, 45, and former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, 55, have been traipsing around Silicon Valley in quirky, knit Allbirds sneakers. Allbirds, billed as “comfort that comes naturally,” are the anti-it-shoe with their simple woolen construction and mellow colors.

Some men argue that any ruling on whether your sneakers will prove “acceptable” or “appropriate” is dictated as much by your character as it is by where you work or where you’re dining out. Mr. Noë noted that his brother has been “buying pretty wacky Nikes, very colorful, very bright, but that suits his personality, so if your personality is outgoing, buy what suits you.” Or you can always do what Mr. Applequist did and ask your spouse.

I refuse to accept this as truth just yet. It has been super quiet though. The On Air pairs aren't supposed to drop until April so that leaves March with nothing really. There has to be a retro though. I can't imagine they just dumb Air Max Day after the last few years.

Wear them loose laced with my pants stacked on top of them. Or just wear your pants over them as they still look cool like that as well you just don’t see the whole shoe and they look like Jordan 1 lows
Edit: I’m one of “those guys” in that article as in I wear a lot of trendy stuff because I like it. I’m almost 37 and I rock a ton of stuff most people my age don’t wear especially in the south, but I don’t give a fuck because it’s my style and I pay my money for it so fuck it. If I like it I wear it. It’s why I jumped all aboard the casual wear/sneaker train because it’s comfortable, has nostalgia, and I like it. That’s me on the left in mauves and my brother wearing my butters on the right. Shits comfortable and I like it.

Full disclosure I’ve always been one of those “I am too old to wear sneakers” type. That was until last year when I went to a weekend long trip to Disneyland with my family. We walked close to 30 miles in 3 days. The first was about 11 in timberlands. I was miserable by the end of the day. Luckily I took a pair of high top leather vans my son bought for me. I wore those exclusively the next two days and they made a world of difference. I still can’t say I can pull off flashy colors but I have left the stupidity of adult men should wear comfortable cool shoes. I don’t think I’ll go crazy but I do think I’ll ask dblplay1212 to get those Jordans as long as they come out after I get paid in a couple of weeks or if he can trust me to pay for them after I get paid (if they release before). I think I’ll get 2-4 pairs a year since I won’t stop wearing my boots.
