The things I’ve heard from people that work in Utah for Ye are incredible. Dude is absolutely off his rocker.
Don’t know if he was the first non-sports figure to do his shoe deal but I loved his S.Carter collab in the early 00s. I’m surprised he’s never gotten back into that game.
He's President of Basketball for PUMA. He's not wearing them just bc he likes them. He's notorious for being an AF1 guy. He's the one that made it a thing to wear new white on whites every day.
Finally almost have then all under one roof so I can organize and decide what to keep and what to sell. There's about 50 pair still left in storage so one more trip left.
Hardest decision by far will be Patta Pack. I just don't wear them. Was a bitch to track them all down in my size, especially Cherrys, but the damn pack sells for $10-12k total. Wife is against me selling them but I just don't see the point in them now. Going to save that decision for last.
lol I'd never put an effort in to count until tonight. Including the 50-60 left in storage, it's sbout 480-500 pairs. I'll keep about 200 so selling about 300 pairs. One person in thankfully buying most of it so it's not as hectic as it could be.
Have you or are you going to change your purchasing strategy, or just keep riding and have a big sell off again in a few years?
In theory I'd like to do a one in, one out, model and keep it at 200 to fit on the wall at all times but that's not realistic imo. Idk we'll see how it goes. May set a rule that if it's still ds after 2 years, it's gone. If I haven't worn them in a year, gone. Something like that. I've already cut back on my purchasing. I still buy a lot but I try to avoid the random shit bc I know I don't wear it. Really try to stick to am1 and am90 with the occasional Jordan 3 mixed in. Og pairs like silver bullet 97s will always be a buy. Same with scream green heartaches. But I don't need random gr huaraches.
Doing the math, this all started about this time in 2015. It's all been tracked here. So 500 pairs in 7 years is only 6 pairs per month. Not that crazy.
I’m all for you spending your money how you want and doing what makes you happy, but I do want to set a baseline that 6 pairs of shoes per month for 7 straight years is absolutely crazy.
This all started bc I changed careers and the new job had weekly and monthly sales competitions. I won more often than not so I was getting about 1k a month in gift cards per month. The only place I liked on the list was nike so I started buy shit. Then my income exploded to like 9-10x what it was and I could buy anything I wanted so I went in. I've always loved shoes since I was a kid but I didn't have it like that, but once I did, the kid in me came out.
Haha that's fair. A lot of it was in spurts though. Definitely some 20-30 pair months sprinkled in there bc the last 18 months has been dry for am1 so it's been like 2 pairs pee month for a while.
You already have them and dont need the money. I wouldnt sell them. Those pairs arent coming around again.
I mean dont get me wrong, that kind of money is tempting. But i think with your collection and AM1’s being your thing youd always want those pairs.
I just find myself wearing the new shit. Like this summer I've worn the Travis Scott wheat am1 and Concepts Heavys like 75% of the time. I just always grab those. I'm starting to go back to my office 2x per week though so that's a lot more opportunities to wear shoes than being home 5x per week.
dblplay1212 If you are going to sell the Patta Pack, sell it to me. I'll store them for you, as you'll 100% regret it down the road.
nofatchildren sent my kid 2 brand new pair of Blazers. Even paid shipping. He wore his Lightnings day 1 and these day 2. Really appreciate it man.
yeah 10 years ago who would have thunk it. We’ve definitely gotten a ton better over time. I was a toxic pos back then
Best i can tell theyre coming sept 14th. I havent seen anything from Nike about them but Hibbett has a few teams on their release calendar for sept 14.
