Yeah these aren’t $630 shoes which is what my buyer paid after fees and everything. Box is by far the best part. Shoes are very high quality and worth the $220 but not almost three times that
I have a pair of $90 Killshots that are the same cut and feel of Sambas and I'll never understand how someone could warrant paying 3x(at retail- we won't even discuss the resell amount) for basically the same shoe.
That APB Store is a scam. Ordered the ugly ducklings from them a couple weeks ago. Hoping they’d be here in time for Padres opening day. Get an email today the order was canceled. Firmly placed on the Do Not Do Business With list.
APB is part of A Ma Maniere and Social Status. Those online orders for gr stock are normally pulled from store stock and shipped from the store. A store probably didn't update their stock correctly. Sucks but I wouldn't call it a scam.
Tell me you’ve never seen Billy Madison without telling me you’ve never seen Billy Madison Spoiler the shoes look fine
The one in Greenville was (maybe still is) appointment only forever. Would drive me nuts that they would keep the damn door locked and wouldn’t let anyone in unless they had an appt even if they were completely empty. They backdoor everything decent which works in dbls favor. I buy a lot of sneakers and walk by apb several times a week but will never shop there.
Fwiw I'd call it seeding to regulars, not "backdoor". Backdoor insinuates they are selling over retail to resellers, seeding is more making sure they go to people that will wear them so resellers don't get everything. The idea that the good stuff would just go on shelves and anyone could walk in on a Tuesday and pick it up isn't realistic. If they do fcfs, they have a reseller campout line at 2am ok Saturday morning. There's really not a good solution to it unless you do a raffle for every release.
There are plenty of online programs that will run a raffle for you. If I had a shop I’d live-stream my raffle process being run. Hard to get a new “regular” or get as much shop interest if all your hyped product gets “seeded” to the same customers over and over. Poor business choice but it’s their shop so they can do what they want.
In less than 24 hours from dropping them off at ups those sambas have already been authenticated by stockx
Had my first StockX disappointment. Bought a pair of the original Air Zoom Generation First Games from 2003. They failed the inspection. StockX offered me a 10 dollar coupon towards my next purchase to make up for it. I got them for 335 and now that they’re gone, the lowest ask on another pair is 2,900. So guess I won’t be getting any of those anytime soon sadly.
I'd put that bid back up. The guy asking $2900 jut has that up to get an offer. Nobody is buying it at that price. Looks like most pairs are in the $400-600 range, $2900 isn't realistic at all. fwiw I have done that with some pairs. Like a Jeter Jordan 1 Low Phat. I have the only pair and listed it for probably double what it's worth bc idk if I want to sell it or not but I'll wait for offers.
But damn just realized someone has a $680 bid. They might just get those. I'm never ever wearing that shoe. Paid $150 for them a few years ago just bc they are a Jeter. I have the 10.5. https://stockx.com/jordan-1-retro-phat-low-jeter-canvas
I have a pair of the white/crimson lebron 1s in I think an 11 if you're interested. They're worn but in pretty good shape for a shoe from 20 years ago.
Oh it's a super cool shoe, especially for a Yankees fan. They made them after the 2009 world series. 27 lines on the toe for the # of titles the team has. Since 23 and 2ince 09 for the old and new stadiums. And it's an old Jordan 1 Low Phat, basically an SB Jordan 1 Low before they made them.
Entering thread I know nothing about for the second time. I have been browsing the stockx website, I love the a ma maniere Jordan 1,2 and 4 but it’s very hard for me to justify paying the price for them plus the fees. Are there any issues with fakes on there? It also doesn’t help that I’m a size 12 which looks like consistently the most expensive/in demand size…
there is a small issue with fakes on there but there is probably one on any place you’re buying resell from. I generally assume that if I buy from goat, StockX or EBay I’m getting a real shoe. I have a controversial opinion which I won’t get into but suffice to say that for me if they pass inspection they are real. So I wouldn’t worry too much about getting fakes on any of those places. As to justifying the price that’s tough. I have the 3s and the 4s and I believe they are worth what was paid for them. To me personally a nice pair of sneakers/ shoes are usually worth the price we pay for them. The way I feel when I’m wearing a good pair of shoes is worth the money I spent. Some shoes I own I couldn’t afford to buy now so remember that while they might go down in price after a while they might be unaffordable.
Totally get it, broadly speaking I’m not buying to collect (my closet is already full of bourbon), I’m buying to wear lol
Trying to figure out if I should get the big bubble on StockX and risk a fake or get a cheaper legit pair of the golf’s straight from Nike, but they’re the golf’s.
my golf ones are getting delivered tmrw and I can let you know how they are. My guess is they will be fine for casual wear.
Thanks, I have some AJ1 Low OG Golf’s that are almost indistinguishable. You can tell the difference between the golf’s and the regulars in photos but I don’t think I’ll care.
I'll be very surprised if they don't restock at some point. In 2017, the March release was super limited. Pairs were going for $500+. Then in October they flooded the streets and they hit discount for $100. Who knows, maybe they don't, but I'd surprised if they spendthrift money for new molds just to do one limited release.
I’ve never bought a pair of Jordan’s so im a little size blind. If they’d fit I’d definitely be interested
The amm 3s fit a little bigger than most 3s bc they have a satin liner but I can't really compare them to 1s or dunks bc i don't wear those. What makes you want the AMM pairs?
Honestly just like the color scheme on the 1, 2 and 4’s. I first saw the 4’s when Berhalter was wearing them during a World Cup game and thought they were sick. Then ran across the 1’s and 2’s browsing stockx like a degenerate.
The 4s are super dope but run small. Size up on those. Would definitely recommend those over the 1s or 2s.
I honestly don’t like the Jordan 2’s in almost any other color scheme, the AMM just look very clean. The 4’s are probably my favorite of the bunch but I really like the 1 and 2’s as well. Don’t know that I’ve seen the 3’s
