I only wear shoes around the house when I'm working, which means I'm in my office/shoe room 95% of the time. I go from my office in the back wing to the kitchen or to let the dogs out. I'm on the couch with no shoes right now. I just have a routine to get ready for work and I do the same regardless if I'm going to an office or staying home.
So you get dressed and carry your shoes to the door and put them on outside? Do you put socks on before or after walking to the door? Do you have a bench/chair outside to sit down and put on shoes?
Carrying shoes and socks to the front door and putting them on outside is as weird to me as me wearing them in my home office and kitchen is to you.
I put my shoes on at the door before I go outside, and take them off when I step inside from outside. Hth. Sort of a hybrid dbl-degausser method, if you will.
I usually slide my socks on at the door, then put my shoes on as soon as I'm stepping out into the garage.
We wear slippers inside that don’t go outside. But, I put and take off my shoes inside the house. My dogs go out and walk around the whole house. Again JFC at calling wearing shoes inside “gross as fuck”. dblplay1212 has posted enough pictures of his house to know it’s not gross.
A house doesn't have to be dirty for something you do to be gross. His home is beautiful. Wearing shoes in your house that you wear in parking lots/bars/etc is gross. I also have house slippers fwiw.
I live in a condo with a small patio. It’s big enough for my grill and a couple seats. I take my bulldogs out to do their business and take one on long walks. Should I buy them slippers too? This shit is on a whole other level.
I have a freaking St Bernard that sheds a small dog twice a year so the little bit of dirt I may track in after wiping my feet is the least of my Roombas worries on its daily runs.
Immma have my swifer at the front door and strap it to my back pocket so it swiffers while I walk to the couch or bedroom when I change into my hous slippers. That or I’ll buy a hazmat suit to wear inside the house or should I wear it when I go out?
You thought it was ok to leave shopping carts wherever you want until fairly recently, so I do not trust your judgement.
Does your roomba do well with pet hair? Ours gets it up, but then just leaves it in clumps in random places.
Ours does a good job with it until it hits a rug and then it dumbs a clump on the rug. We have a big like 10x12 rug in the living room so I had to make that a no go area bc it was leaving clumps on it. What I've found was the longer hair will wrap around the rubber brushes (we have the i7 or whatever with the rubber brushes, it's much better than the old ones with the bristles) and then when it hits a rug that hair will get caught on the rug and dump out there.
i didn’t think something was a big deal a few years ago. I was presented with a compelling argument for why I was wrong and changed my opinion and behavior for the better. I think my ability to grow shows I have good judgment.
Was another joke fwiw. I've got no problems with you or dbl. This argument is pretty much 90% of what mine and dbl's relationship is.
You can go into the map and make a no go space around all of them. It's hard to do for small ones but the big ones are easy. Wife uses the Dyson on the living room rug a few times a week and the Roomba does the rest of the house.
we getting judged for wearing shoes inside now? then call me an asshole because my shoes only come off for showers and sleep i’ve left every house i’ve ever been to that has a shoes off policy and that’s a hard fucking fact wife hates me for it , but i’ve left her at parties dozens of times for that stupid rule
This is true. I went to a friends house just last week, and he wore his shoes inside. I removed mine out of respect anyway.
my truly close friends know that shit doesn’t play with me so the ones that try this rule know that they will deal with shoes inside, or not invite me over most of the time it’s some friend of a friend or a wife’s acquaintance in which case it’s as soon as i see their corny ass little ones touch these floors doormat
After reading more of this conversation I would like to clarify my stance more. I will wear shoes inside for short periods of time like bringing in groceries or putting my shoes on in the bedroom while getting dressed then walking across the house to leave. I will not put on shoes just for the sake of wearing them around the house. That is weird.
