There's like no "weightlifting" going on in here. People lift weights but I haven't seen any of you cunts snatch their bw
Week four of the Capstone 88 schedule and my glutes/hamstrings are getting worked. Ass so sore it’s like I’ve been in prison for a month.
Only lifted 3x last week but eating a lot better and drank significantly less(besides last night), on my way to not being a complete mess.
Some dumbass at the gym I like going to seems to have oiled all the bench press bars, half my energy is spent not having my hands slip. Thought I was getting weaker then hit 250 at the other location again today while I can barely get 235 at the other.
The bars at my gym are slick too. I grab a couple of paper towels out of the rest room for my working sets. Fixes the grip problem even if I look homeless while doing it.
Fuck today. I’m still dehydrated from Friday and I’ve ate like shit. Squat 185-5 185-5 185-3 185-3 185-3 My right hip was tight as fuck 135-10 175-8 185-6 205-4 225-3 245-1+(4) Overall just a shit day that was all caused by me. Need to eat a lot better and stay hydrated and not drink Coke and Sweet tea
Question for the people who are around 1 grams of protein per pound a day, how do you get there and are all your meals super high protein? Think I'm a lot lighter than most of you at 180 and it's a struggle, drank 72 grams in protein shakes today and still barely got there.
depends on how, what, and when you want to eat. i eat a few hundred calories every few hours or so. almost snacking my way through the day. tuna, pb, eggs, a shake, jerky, nuts, and cottage cheese. it puts me right where i want most days. ill eat fruit, veggies, and rice to make up carbs.
4 meals of around 6oz protein should get you to ~144g of protein then throw 2 scoops of whey on top of that after your workout and you've got ~188g
I'm mainly a small breakfast/decent sized lunch/huge dinner every day. I get there most days, any cheat meal destroys any chance of getting there though. Should probably eat eggs for breakfast but I leave at 5:30 every day and I have 0 time, might try protein bars
I'm light, but I get too much protein. Greek yogurt, Whey, Chicken/beef/fish, Beef jerky, eggs/milk/cheese, halo top ice cream.
Also, unless you're getting 8 oz of meat at night, eating like a bro helps you get there. Trying to fit in 150+ grams of protein in 3 meals is tough.
people eat meals with less than 8oz of meat? I wouldn't be full from a protein serving smaller than that. I eat 8-12 oz of fish or chicken every night. normally 2 filets of tilapia or ahi tuna or just guesstimate chicken thigh amount. here's my MFP log from yesterday. the "dirty turkey" for lunch is the OG 3NolesFan3 #health meal: 1 box zatarains dirty rice mix + 2 lbs 99% lean ground turkey. I add 2 diced zucchinis to it as well. makes ~3 really big servings or ~5 normal people servings (the 0.67 is 2/3 of the really big servings). Probably $15 for 5 pretty healthy meals. also ignore the odd serving size of breakfast protein shake. i use a different scoop that's smaller than the one it comes with because it dumps into my shaker without spilling over the edges... also just realized i doubled romaine for dinner. Spoiler
Had a custom tailored suit made in January with about a 32 inch waist when I weighed 165 pounds. Wore it to a wedding this past weekend at 183 pounds and still fit like a glove, with some added tightness in the shoulders. Eating and lifting my way to health.
Team 32 as well but it's tight. Was fucking dead today but hit 22 pullups, will get to 30 in a few months. I couldn't even do 1 2 years ago.
Team 30 waist. What a bitch I am. Made the mistake a couple years ago of buying a couple pairs of high end jeans right before my commitment to squats and deadlifts. Within a few months my legs were too swole for them. My wife then cut them up and now wears them as shorts. Now I wear the stretchy athletic jeans from Old Navy. They're amazing.
Spend 10 minutes the night before making breakfast. Below is my MFP breakdown from yesterday, 180g PRO from real food in 3 meals isn't that hard
Hit some squats on Monday for the first time in ~2 weeks since tweaking my back. Haven’t had this amount of DOMS in a long time
throwing AG Protoge jeans into the hat for nice jawns that are light as hell, little stretch, and great fit for people who squat (I got a big ass) and the pelvis/hips on most jeans I tried on/used to wear so tight I couldn't tie my shoes. pro tip: go to Nordstrom and try on some to get the size. Yaoface their $205 price tag. Get them for $90 on 6pm.com
Bonobos jetsetter jeans are all I wear. They have a nice stretch to them that lets my big ass fit in. They are worth the $175 price tag, they look brand new two years later and I wear them a couple times a week each
I make my purchasing decisions in terms of gym equipment now. Like, "man, these two pairs of Bonobos jetsetters are awesome, but I could get a new stainless power bar for that."
