you've posted this before. I have a torn labrum and a ton of torn ligaments in one shoulder, and my shoulders have randomly dislocated several times. I gotta remeber this.
You guys are scaring me. Have never had a serious injury, have also never worked near as hard as I have the last couple years lifting. I have days where I can barely walk because of glute soreness but still a virgin as far as major injuries. A couple calf pops is the worst I've ever had, they suck but good in 2 weeks.
My torn labrum and torn ligaments were from a car accident, and my shoulder dislocations have been a problem since I was 4 years old....so I hope you are ignoring the injuries of of a 40 year old man.
I had the same thing all through college after tearing my labrum during high school football. Probably dislocated it 20+ times in 4 years any time my arm got hit from the front or if I moved my arm above my head. Finally got surgery in 2010 and its been great ever since.
I’m banged up, but if I quit lifting today I’d be 100% in like 2-3 weeks. Not tearing tendons, connective tissue, or actual muscle is the way. Just know when to back off and listen to your body. Better to take a deload and have your goal pushed back a week than to get hurt and have it pushed back 3 months
100% this. I've also gotten much more comfortable with not forcing a weights/reps if I feel like I'm going to fail. I will usually try to keep the same sets/reps and just lower the weight if I'm feeling off (which has happened a lot on this hypertrophy block), but there are occasions where I'll knock a couple of reps off.
Exactly. And having 1 or 2 sessions where you don’t hit all your sets/reps in the grand scheme of a training career is minuscule. It’s all about consistency and staying healthy so whatever you do to maximize those 2 things you’ll get strong.
Was bored so decided to weigh my bar and plates, 45s ranged from 43.4 to 49 and my 480 deadlift is 494.2. Counting this as a new PR
5/8 were 47+, not like I paid for great plates. They have some wear and tear, don't think paint chips mean all that much for weight.
Yeah, I tore one labrum skateboarding and bit it about 4 years ago (34). Shoulder dislocated which tore the labrum. It was fun while trying to rehab and if I reached across my body it would just dislocate. Other shoulder with the torn labrum and partial rotator is just because I’m a fucking idiot more than anything.
thor posts a pic from esm and some dude in the comments asks him why he struggled on the log event. lol
Think about how miserable you have to be to do that? Sad we can’t just admire strength regardless of who did it
Man oh man, that instagram profile (https://www.instagram.com/matt_london_413/?hl=en) is just fantastic. There's even a Twitter: https://twitter.com/Matt_london_413 Would love to see a workout with this guy and Savage
and with all the bogus lifters/fitness experts/bodybuilders, why go after folks with real resumes? there are plenty of legit trolling opportunities with the fakes
Ho.Ly.Shit. From the IG... A 53 second 400 meter dash at 6'0 and 214 LBS from 2013.An Unofficial World Record for the fastest 400 meter dash ever ran at bodyweights over 210 pounds and under 6'1 tall. Nobody in the world runs this fast over 210 pounds.. It all goes by weight. Even a 10 pound increase in body weight makes a huge difference. Most decathletes are only 172-188lbs. The average olympic 400 meter dash runner is 157 LBS. Not even decathletes can compete with this because they don't even meet my weight requirement.Trey Hardee doesn't count at 6'5 and 210 because if I was 6'5 then I would be 245 when I ran this. That's why a height requirement comes into play in this as well. You have to be over 210 to be able to compete with me on this. There has never been a track and field sprinter in the history of track and field dating back to 1890 that was over 210 pounds and ran the 400 meter dash professionally. It's strictly a bodyweight dependent event. If you're not at the ideal body weight of 140-178 then you will never be a professional track and field athlete. You're all clueless as to how hard this is to do at this heavy of a body weight. Which is the reason why nobody in the world has ever done this. This is an unofficial world record for the fastest 400 meter dash ever ran at bodyweights over 210. #crossfit #tracknation #trackandfield#crossfitgames #400meterdash #400
nope just found his crotch selfies. THIS IS NO LONGER MY FAVORITE IG ACCOUNT. I PUBLICLY DISAVOW THIS IG ACCOUNT AND ALL CROTCH SELFIES.
Between the IWF European championships this week/weekend and the Kern US Open at the end of the month we should see some huge lifts over the next few weeks. I think Lasha takes a swing at the 266kg/586lb clean & jerk world record on Saturday.
What type of bar do you use for upright rows I always got elbow/wrist pain if I tried to go heavy and do anything < 12 reps
cambered bar on the pit shark, since i already had weight loaded from shrugs. dont like a straight grip when i do mine, will also use a rope grip.
Just saw a 73 guy do a 192 C&J then did a backflip after, pretty insane. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bozhidar_Andreev
Don't know what it is about pullups but they've become the most painful exercise for me. Can still do 10+ with 25 pounds on the few times I feel up to it but 95% of the time, doing pullups feels like death. Hate dips too. On deload week, haven't lifted since Sunday, just did 1 pullup and felt terrible.
Question: what do you get when you mix Florida & CrossFit? Answer: https://pagesix.com/2019/04/08/cros...-jenai-to-marry-man-jailed-on-murder-charges/
Bought a rower since I'm becoming a crossfitter and that may be part of the problem. I'm really not but you can call me 1.
