Rep weights will be here Tuesday. 2.5 months after I ordered, 1.5 months after the scheduled delivery period. I’ll never order anything from them again.
One of the benefits of working in apartment investing for the last 6 years... now have the opportunity to bid out apartment gyms for the company I’ve been working with... one of the largest owner/operators in the country. trying to bring something new and exciting to apartment gyms, which generally suck, even new builds. Almost all communities have the same shit... matrix equipment, Smith machines, etc... I’ve toured hundreds of properties, and of those, only a handful stood out in terms of their fitness presence. told my main boss today about me leaving, which went really well. He’s very receptive to the idea... I’m talking full-on outfits with Sorinex equipment and the like. got to fly on the gulf stream for the last time today. Will miss it.
Got my 40kg kettlebell king bell. I like the handle for pressing. It's flatter and closer than other brands. I can't do anywhere near this weight with my left still. But I can prob press this bitch a few times. Not sure how snatching will go with it. I just can't trust my left.
Never realized how much sunlight leads to energy and positive mindset till now. My area has been as strict as any and parks have been closed till recently and I'm not really the neighborhood walking type. Went to park about 45 minutes every day this week and have felt better than I have since this thing started. Still incredibly pale. Cool story Also bought the Kaz handles, Rot8 landmine rows have been my go to accessory since I got them so giving the Kaz ones a go.
so do you think its safe to start going again? my local la fitness is taking "precautions" and people are asked to "keep space between yourselves" on the weight floor. cardio machines have an open machine between people I dont think theres any hard enforcement other than being asked to wear gloves and wipe of machines
Froze my LA Fitness membership and I'm sending in the cancellation form (what a pain in the ass) because I'm just going to exclusively use my home gym now. Feels good man.
You need to have that form notarized and signed by one of your state senators (actually I believe it’s both senators, you just need one of them if you’re freezing the account.) But in all seriousness, that just shows you how reliant that industry is on people going on autopay and forgetting about the recurring charge.
I've had mine fronzen for about 4 years, lazy and wasted money. I called the number about 2 MO this ago and canceled over the phone
nope. Never sent emails to me, and a few times I had to email them twice. They conveniently charged my card at order time and never tried to make their errors right.
Damn, the stuff I ordered from Titan came hella quick. I was expecting a nightmare but I guess I got lucky.
The bench and curl bar were back ordered so I knew they would take some time. But the rack was in stock weeks ago and I’ve yet to see anything about delivery
I really want the KB kings version to compare but these are perfect for any entry - mid. They feel really good. Not the smoothest handles. Some odd or rushed grinding on them. But they appear like they'll hold up. Not sure why the fuck they painted these. The paint has no chance in hell of surviving. Ill have to strip them and grind down the centering notch on one of them.
You inspired me. I ALSO had a good squat day. What should have been my RPE 10 @4 felt better than I expected. I'm not sure how another rep would have felt, but I def think I could have gone with a few more pounds.
Are you afraid of corona in the gym? My gym has limited capacity to 30%, checks temp when you walk in, and has removed basketball/group stuff. You are not required to wear mask inside. I feel perfectly safe. They have employees wiping stuff down nonstop in there now.
I've only bought weird stuff from them. 100-150# medicine balls which I love. A roman chair which kinda sucks and 2 3 in 1 plyo boxes which are great. 80% is cool with me Forgot about trap bar
Interesting phenomenon spotted in the gym: People getting pinned on the bench press and pulled to the ground in the squat rack. The strength loss is real.
this was for the fid bench. Took the wife and I over 2 hours to assemble. Spoiler the squat stand was actually really easy to assemble.
Interesting. I think one of the reviews I read made a comment about the pad not being able to be lowered enough, so it was sitting up too close to your waist.
Started my first day of PPL. I'm weak as hell but man that workout just felt so different compared to bands and pushups. Shoulders and lats felt worst after the workout. Gonna start just 3 days a week with 4 days of core and cardio on my off days. Still at a calorie deficit most days until i shed this last little bit of abdomen fat, but also eating high protein.
Anyone have any deadlift get off hacks. I mix in a lot of deficit work but just not there. My lockout feels way better than it ever has but working too hard to get to that point. Had a great cycle despite a week off with a tweaked back, I'm happy.
I think it was Brazos who had a video saying he didn’t think deficits really helped with breaking the floor because the leverages are different.
I think pulling conventional there’s going to be a bit of a trade off with lockout and breaking the floor due to positioning. If you round more and get your knees forward you’ll break the floor easier, but struggle at lockout. Then if you’re more neutral/legs more vertical you’ll lockout easier, but have a harder time breaking the floor. I think it’s about striking that balance
eddie hall said that when he was training for the 500k deadlift he never locked out during his training. his concern was breaking the floor and he determined that with his strength on yokes he could easily lockout much more than he planned to deadlift. maybe he just explains things in a way that suits me, from the 5 minutes mark on he goes through his deadlift form and talks about breaking the ground. the exact part i am quoting starts around the 11:45 mark.
