Will one of you more knowledgeable folk speak to me of SARMs? Are the mild ones like osterine, MK & RAD something that will help me lean out & break through these plateaus or will they make my heart explode?
Think getting blood work and finding natural ways to increase T is probably a much smarter first step I’m not knowledgeable at all but jumping into sarms is not a small step.
i get mine done once a year now. discussed it a bit on the last page. my last doctor was a big proponent of it and i like seeing it.
SARMs are not well researched to the point of knowing what longer term effects they have. There’s been some possible links to cancer that would make me personally a little hesitant. IMO they don’t give enough benefit for the risk.
That would definitely work there’s a couple other routes you could go without test. If you strictly want to lean out, clenbuterol would help that. If you’re looking for more performance based then there’s other routes you could go without test
I actually have clen and have slowly been increasing the dosage; though after a week I’m still only at 50mcg so I’m not sure if I’m even at an effective level yet
50mcg should be a good spot. You don’t want to get past 1mcg/kg of body weight. 50-75 should get things moving well. Obviously erring to the lowest effective dose
Appreciate the advice. That would have me somewhere in the low 80ish mcg and I was told/planning on increasing by 10 all the way up to 100-110, I should hold at 80 though? Also do I need to cycle off after 2 weeks or at that level would I be good/will it remain effective for another few weeks?
I’m certainly no expert, but the people who advise Olympic athletes, Olympia level bodybuilders, etc that I follow have changed their thinking that you don’t need to cycle off after 2 weeks anymore assuming you don’t have any negative cumulative side effects. I think maybe getting to 100-110 would be fine the last couple of weeks but I wouldn’t sustain past the 1mcg/kg for a long period of time if that makes sense
Thank you. As someone who’s still very much just an intermediate (at best) lifter/looking to break through the plateaus and stagnation I’m pretty new to much of the supplement/medical side of things. I appreciate you guys sharing your knowledge and experience.
hensleya can I get some ideas for a home gym to go heavier beyond safety / spotter arms for safety. I’m hitting some weights with bench I’m feeling more uncomfortable getting under and I can’t ditch it except on top of me if need be
I have a Rogue Monster Lite Rack and budget is probably relative to the solution if that makes sense. I don’t mind spending for the right stuff.
A lifting block that Olympic lifters do jerks out of. The pad in the middle is to mimicking a board press which works on triceps
Safety straps are my favorite, especially for bench. You can angle them away from your face. You can also look into suspension straps from Spud inc. and set them just above your chest.
Right knee is starting to bother me a little bit during heavy squats. Not major pain but I do think I’m getting my knee a little too far out over my toes maybe. Assuming I also work on fixing my form, would a knee sleeve be beneficial at all?
I don’t think the knee going over the toe would cause the issue. I’d first look at ankle and hip mobility. After that I’d make sure you’re rooting your feet well. knee sleeves would definitely help though.
Sunday night SBD after a weekend of drinking and 3 hours of bike Thankfully invested in a hypervolt a while ago
Taking intro to crossfit class, signing up for crossfit gym. #1 goal: shave off bodyfat, #2 - build muscle. Anyone into cf?
when i die pinning myself under 225, id love to have a competition dedicated to benching 225 for reps just to bury me repeatedly.
Not full blown cross fit but I’ll incorporate some CrossFit type stuff into the end of workouts for conditioning Also congrats on the new fitness journey, but I have to go ahead and mention kipping pull ups are bad.
You just made me go look. Over a year since I did 225 for 20. My shoulder would start screaming around 10 or 12 now
I'd bounce them to get to 20. But I will say I have been doing 20 reps on most arm work accessory now. Light weight and more burn. Yesterday I pulled 6 plates failed on 595 and then backed off to 4x4 405 and did a set of 315x10.
got 15 talking on the phone. i definitely had more. i spent way too much time sorting out work for my guys.
Ok Jen Thompson Spoiler she literally just complained about this and shit talked the girl who set the record in a diff class
Yeah I just saw the video of the girl from that recent meet that had the obscene setup that had everyone mad on the Internet
Today was...something. After the hurricane, we couldn't go back home for a few weeks. Family was in Houston and I was on a cot in my office for the first couple weeks, followed by 1.5 weeks at a hotel my company put us up in. Still working crazy hours and trying to fix shit around the house, so hadn't been able to do much lifting. I had done a few days of "bridge" programming here and there, but this is my first week really getting back. Fucking Chad gives me Squats x10 and Deadlift x8 today. Weight was relatively light but fuuuuuuck.
Also found out there is a meet in Baton Rouge next March. I may move up my timeline to hit the 205 class.
rewrote my 5/3/1+ program a few weeks ago after 4 months off, and i was being conservative with my weights. all of my top sets have ended up going for 8-10 reps. gasping for air at the end. sorry to hear about the displacement. I have some customers in Port Allen and they just got settled back in last week.
