We had the doors open for some reason today. Before I got there I swapped today from my primary squat day to my primary bench day. Glad I did because it was 86 in there. My hat was dripping so much it looked like rain
My dirty gym clothes hamper is in my closet and I’ve had to start investing in the giant arm and hammer dehumidifying/deodorizing boxes this summer.
I dry clean my work clothes so my laundry is 95% gym clothes and the like 2 outfits I wear on a weekend
yesterday it was 78° and that was the coolest my gym has been for a lift since June. the thermometer has only crossed 100° one time, but i have crossed a line of suffering that is not necessary.
Anyone ever dealt with weightlifter’s shoulder? It’s neat. Fortunately the doctor said I can just keep injecting as many times as I want.
Yeah. My ac joint will flare up from time to time but when it does it’s typically when I haven’t been doing shoulder mobility work. I have both labrums partially torn, and one bicep partially torn from the labrum and a partial rotator that I’ve done pt on and I do a lot of those pt exercises weekly to help as well.
Most of my shoulder shit though is because I broke my clavicle so when they set that it threw off a lot of my body’s natural physiology
Taped my forearm about as tight as I could tape it. Definitely relieved pain in arm/elbow on chin ups. We'll see how curls go. Bought some brace off Amazon. Back to healthy-ish
hensleya and preferences between these two?? Both on sale, 600 vs 650. Nuobells look better, IMO. I think you have them or tested them. https://mxfitnesssupply.com/products/mx85-rapid-change-adjustable-dumbbells https://smrtft.com/collections/adjustable-dumbbell
Yeah they go up to 80. Agree they look clean af Want the matte ones or the green ones, but not on sale
We talking busted shoulders in here? mine is definitely getting better. Been doing a ton of tear delt work, facepulls, etc and my bench work started with 135 for 3 sets of 5 with a 3-3-3 tempo. Up to 185 now
Bad back + Labor Day+ yesterday was first workout in a week plus and I’ve not had many days ever this awful Seemed like I prematurely left the disabled list and might have to go back on it
Hadn’t done legs in months maybe a year. Did leg day on Saturday. I’m still walking around all funny and can barely sit down on the toilet. Probably should’ve stretched more.
Re-aggravated my sciatic nerve in the glute again. Happened 2 years ago and I stupidly kept trying to train through it. It got to the point where my left leg was almost useless for a couple months. I wish there was a magic way to make the pain go away and get full functionality back. Looks like I'll be spending the next few weeks in the pool using a pull bouy.
when i aggravated mine last year it got so bad I couldn't recruit enough muscle to lift my left foot a few inches off the floor. I lost 2-3" in my left leg and was in constant pain for a few months. i found i could push against a light band if I was laying down and started working through the sticking points almost daily. It took a month before I was moving around properly, but slowly I started rebuilding my strength and muscle control. It's been a year now and haven't had any sciatic pain since October. I still do the band stuff all the time. It's transitioned into a nice way for me to warm up my glutes and hips.
Had someone else recommend doing band work. Specifically sideways walks, front walks, and straight-legged kickbacks and side-kicks.
a lot of the banded adduction and abduction stuff, banded split squats, banded lunges, and kick backs. i always do 5 second holds or tempo. *edited to add this, I can dang near do a pistol squat on either leg now. prior to the last injury I could do zero. working with all the bands has drastically improved my balance and coordination. as a now older man that feels very rewarding.
Was in a car over three hours for work today and had way too many Zyns. In the middle of squats and was fully expecting a thunderclap headache but instead my right arm is going numb lol
Love hitting 405 for 2 on squats and racking it, feeling like a real man and then turning around and seeing someone doing 475 on bench for reps. I don’t know why I even lift
oh cool now 17 y/o girls are squatting 445. fml https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cw6gTWgMPI5/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
