Total over 2 months. Been coming off at a faster rate this week though. Really been serious about diet and gym. I'm gonna see my abs again damnit.
Just ended my cut 2 weeks ago down 22 lbs over 20 weeks. Toward the end I was miserable. Never going to let myself get like that again. I'm all aboard the 2 months bulk, 1 month maintenance, and cut life from now on.
Why would you even . . . No offense, but that just sounds incredibly stupid unless you have a wheel chair or a personal servant. Spoiler It sounds exactly like something I would have done at your age.
Seeing the surgeon about my hernia today. T's and P's welcome. Hope it's just a quick laparoscopic fix and I can get back to lifting in a few weeks.
Finishing my first mesocycle really following Mike Israetel's recommendations. Went really well, besides probably starting at too low of an intensity. I ended up figuring out a lot about my body and the amount of volume I can handle. For all the bodybuilding bros, here is a good link everyone should read: https://notehub.org/6cvvk
I've been considering doing squats and deads together, but would that be suicide at almost 38 years old?
For my next purchase for the garage gym should I: A.) Get the infamous Crepnisek Safety Squat Bar (AKA Hatfield SSB) - Probably around $450 after shipping. B.) Get Mono hooks (for bench) and safety arms in lieu of the shitty pin & pipe - Can be had for $197 total shipped (crazy deal).
I'll let you know in 7 years. Haha. I don't think so. Give it a go and see how your body responds. I personally prefer to DL on squat day.
Just turned 38 and have done a few cycles of Candito. Squat and deadlift together all the time, still alive!
Weight cut for the jiu jitsu tourney went fine, and lifting 5/3/1 2x per week in the AM is going well. Feeling stronger but not overtaxed for rolling later that night.
Update: Hernia on both sides, so surgeon is going to do a repair for both. Should have the surgery end of this month or first week of June. Two week recovery and then I can start lifting a little bit again and ease back into shit. Going to be doing a lot of core work moving forward, gents.
Thanks so much NoNatty and everyone else that recommended getting into Dr. Mike Israetel. Here's the video I started with; he does a great job of walking through the rationale behind his training philosophy.
If you or anyone else is interested, he goes on Steve Hall's (a real natural bodybuilder) "Revive Stronger" podcast pretty regularly. I want to say there is about 10 episodes so far with Steve and Mike, which are really informative.
I've misstepped or something like 3 or 4 times today and have gotten this brief shooting pain in my hip socket. Both right and left sides (not at the same time). Never felt anything like it
Haven't felt the need for knee sleeves before, but my volume has ticked up and my knees have been feeling a little worn out. For those who use them, what is your preferred model? hensleya Didn't you get the STrong sleeves?
My lifting buddy has pain in his shoulder when doing chest (incline press and dumbbell flys is as far as he got). Anything he can do or just rest it up for a week or so?
I've got a pair of STrong Sleeves comp for, but haven't worn them yet. Probably throw them on when I start my strength block next week. hensleya are yours comp fit or regular? Any tips on getting comp fit on?
I have the regular fit, but I sized down. Turn it inside out, then get it over your ankle and onto your shin. From there, grab at the bottom on the sides with both hands and flip it over your knee. Works quite well.
Just bought a custom set of full sized swing-in safeties for my rack. Fucking pumped. Football bar shipped today. Also fucking pumped.
just because I remember the discussion happening at least twice ITT in the past year https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?search/3574598/&q=belt&t=post&o=date&c[thread]=120349
If you don't need one, keep on keeping on..It helps me feel myself better brace my core by giving my gut something to push out into.
World's Strongest Man starts this weekend. If you want to see the results (and videos) a few months before it airs, you can find them here. http://www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk/forum/Worlds-Strongest-Man-2017-25340/50
Stan Efferding has been working with Thor on his diet the past year. Will be interesting to see some tweaks he's made on his nutrition/travel affect his performance. Edit: just saw Australian strength Coach's (who is working with him as well) instagram. Thor is damn sure on this Rhino Diet: red meat, rice, pat of butter.
Just started working out again for the first time in about 5 years in the last few weeks. Downloaded My Fitness Pal at the recommendation of someone in here. Is there any way to add meals that aren't breakfast, lunch, or dinner? I eat 5-6 meals a day and there are only room for 4 meals in the app
Yeah I used to just add everything I ate as breakfast when I used it. It doesn't matter what you put it under.
The only thing that bothers me about it is that it doesn't universally save each meal. So if you add chick fil a nugs for lunch you'll have to re-enter it for dinner. It's silly. But yeah I just add shit. I don't really care its mostly for cals and macros. But If I did care I'd just do my normal meals then add the rest as snacks.
