You know I knew I was never cut out to be a Navy SEAL. But it wouldn't be because of the physical demands... The countless hours of dedication to craft your body into a silent killing machine. Or the drive and determination to be the best man in any and all situations... Nah...It's simply because when im breathing hard lifting weights I can't fucking do math. I was doing 3' defecate deads and it took me like 5 tries and fingers to add 225 plus 140. For some reason I kept adding and subtracting. Then I added weight and fucking forgot so I'm all out of sorts and forgot where I was headed.
I know what you mean. I count the weights probably 5 times to make sure I'm getting it right or forgot what the total was. Spoiler and these aren't large numbers
I find that if I'm counting the plates that some behemoth in my gym is lifting I can't add it. The calculations on my weights are much easier.
Really don't know what's wrong with my shoulder. Only hurts when I do pull ups. Don't feel anything doing overhead press. Had to quit pullups yesterday because I felt like I'd do more harm if I kept going. If I only do like half reps I don't feel any pain, it's only when I lower to a dead hang past that halfway point I feel a catch or something in it.
Has anyone ever tried a SuperSlow workout? Some shit where you only lift for 20 minutes once a week but you do every rep super slow where it just kills your muscles, like 10-20 seconds just to do one rep
Moved stance in a bit, Capstone 88, to more a... cough... wide stance conventional... cough. Felt more comfortable. Look out Ben Pollack. I'm coming for your record.
Haha. I like working out too and don't necessarily want to make it shorter; just read some stuff about this workout and wondered if anyone tried it. I tried lifting yesterday like normal basically but using a slower tempo, taking 3-5 seconds per rep and trying to keep the muscle straining the whole time. I'll let yall know how sore I am
I worked out with my buddy yesterday and hes doing this Arnold Blueprint to Mass program. I did chest day with him. Bench was 5 sets of 30, 12, 10, 8, 6 reps. I am sore today. A 30 rep set is murderous
IMO it's a middle ground. If you're trying to lift for hypertrophy, messing with tempos can be helpful to an extent. The idea of a 20 second concentric on every rep/set/exercise is just dumb though.
This is what my stance looks like and the guy hensleya and I are talking about. My pull looks equally as strong and I look equally as aesthetic.
I did blueprint to shred and pretty sure you have to be on gear to handle the volume in those arnold programs. not really but it was overwhelming
Currently doing 2-a-days 3 days a week and making it into the gym for some kind of workout all 7 days (1 day just cardio) It's in the pizza valleys we grow and it makes reaching the 6-pack mountaintop that much sweeter. only real problem is
I hate safety squat bars, but I'm a spaz. Also, has anyone used this handle? It looks like a cod buster but maybe not. Some dude stole a few handles from the gym and the old handlebar style t-row grip was one of them. I thought this one looked interesting. http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-parallel-landmine-handle
I swear the bar can sense a healing scrape on the knee when deadlifting. Haven't clipped my shin/knee deadlifting in a long time, but naturally I do it on my warmup set causing a Shining level blood rush.
So frustrated by my inability to break through my standin overhead press plateau. Missing my last set by one rep, have deloaded twice to no avail. Fack.
How tight are you staying when you press? Squeeze the fuck out of your glutes and quads. What type of supplemental and accessory work are you doing?
I've found a lot more strength in the lift by pushing through the center of my stance if that makes any sense. Just can't get the one last rep up. I'm more whining than anything really. Also, to answer your last question... Spoiler SL5x5 shield engaged Also, what was that dope leather belt maker you guys suggested a few months back? I'm too lazy to search through and find those posts...
Additionally, actual video footage of me getting my set of 295lb deadlifts. Dade county next up on the bar, 305. Spoiler'd to not make you think less of yourself. Spoiler
