The Mysterious 9/11 Disappearance of Sneha Anne Philip On the morning of September 11, 2001 New York City fell victim to a series of four terrorist attacks by the hands of an Islamic terrorist group called al Qaeda. Over 2,996 people died and over 6,000 were injured. There are still over a thousand people that have not been identified by the medical examiner. Another mystery still remains though – did Dr. Sneha Philip perish in the attack or did she use the tragedy to start her life over? https://truecrimesociety.com/2019/09/11/the-mysterious-9-11-disappearance-of-sneha-anne-philip/
also: Stranglers Podcast From June, 1962 through January, 1964, women in the city of Boston lived in fear of the infamous Strangler. Over those 19 months, he committed 13 known murders-crimes that included vicious sexual assaults and bizarre stagings of the victims' bodies. After the largest police investigation in Massachusetts history, handyman Albert DeSalvo confessed and went to prison. Despite DeSalvo's full confession and imprisonment, authorities would never put him on trial for the actual murders. And more than 50 years later, significant doubts continue to surround the case. Was DeSalvo really the killer? Was there more than one Strangler? And did the Boston PD and the FBI do everything necessary to find and stop the murderer? Stranglers, an original 12-part weekly documentary podcast from Stitcher and Northern Light Productions, is a fascinating, contemporary audio investigation of the Boston Strangler story. #Boston Red Sox
Bardstown Pod Once dubbed “The Most Beautiful Small Town in America” and considered the Bourbon Capital of the World, Bardstown, Kentucky is like a lot of small, tight-knit communities all across America. But just under the surface, there’s something darker. Not everyone wants to talk about it. And a lot of people would rather forget. That’s because since 2013, Bardstown has also been the site of five unsolved murders. Now, the team behind “Bomber,” “True Crime Chronicles,” and “88 Days” is digging into these cases to find out what’s really happening in Bardstown, and whether these murders could be related. And along the way uncovering a history of violence and fear in this otherwise quintessential southern town. #Kentucky Wildcats https://bardstown.podbean.com/
I certainly don’t think it is common, but I’ve known a few sex crime cops to have no tact/sensitivity like these guys, which is baffling.
Didn’t realize it was real events (article below). Vinegar Strokes saw in search function you mentioned show as well. https://www.propublica.org/article/false-rape-accusations-an-unbelievable-story

A late-model pick-up truck is parked in the street, and the surrounding alleys are scrawled with graffiti. It’s just past sunset on a late summer evening and a woman is trudging up the hill with a basket of bread, calling out her wares. Otherwise the street is silent. Then the hit man steps from the shadows behind the parked truck and waves me on toward the safe house.
One of our previous clients in prison calls me (yes, cell phone) to put on another inmate. Inmate is in for armed robbery. There is evidence of a black male around his height on video from the store. This guy was found in the area of the store hours later. The police knew him as a big time drug dealer and already hated him. The store clerk goes back and forth on the i.d. and finally decides it is him. The police/state hand over the store video footage. Just a 2 minute video and you can't see the guys face despite no mask being worn. The guy loses at trial, back in 2002, and has been in ever since. This past week the guys Mom decides to brush off the video and pop it into the VCR player from the garage. This time when the screen goes black after 2 minutes the Mom doesn't shut the tape off. She goes about her business only to see more footage pop up like 30 minutes later. This footage is from a completely different camera. This camera shows the guy walking right up to it and it isn't Mom's son (according to her). the son of course has been professing innocent for years now. I wasted no time in retrieving everything from Mom, now I just need to find a VCR lol.
Do you guys have Miami specific true crime? Like I saw one called Miami murder mystery on 20/20 on Investigation Discovery. Probably would be boring if it wasn’t that I was from Miami. Loved it. Also loved cocaine cowboys.
What happened to the making a murderer thread? Apparently someone in prison admitted to the halbach murder?
culpable podcast people.... I think maybe racer Henry Blake devine Jeffrey Lebowski OldazzNinjaman click link for video
jplaYa - anyone in your circles know/of this case? 20-year old murder of a nuclear scientist in East Tennessee. Undisclosed podcast is doing the story as a wrongful conviction. http://herald-citizen.com/stories/u...ring-1998-putnam-county-double-homicide,37250
I had not heard of this. I’ll ask around. Putnam county includes Cookeville, TN and that’s about it. I didn’t see anything about him being a nuclear scientist in that article but living there, the only remotely close facilities would have been ORNL, TVA Watts Bar, or TVA Sequoyah. He could of course have taught at Tennessee Tech which has a good engineering department, though more focused in agriculture, mechanical, and electrical.
Supposedly was a government contractor up until the early or mid 90s. Wasn’t sure how small the nuclear community was in that area. He was a Ukrainian National, I believe.
Preview 'The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes,' Premiering Oct. 12 on Oxygen The series follows Holes as he dives into unsolved homicides by analyzing the physical and emotional “DNA” left behind during the violent interaction.
Finished up mindhunter last night. Such a great show. Need an actual documentary to watch now. I can’t listen to the crime junkie podcast anymore. It puts me to sleep at work and I don’t follow along. Sword and Scale is good. And I love Last Podcast on the Left when they do serial killers.
there is a BUNCH of content posted in here lol. Death Row stories is an awesome show if you can find it.
