Highly underrated. Back when Blackwater was called Blackwater, there was a Hardee's on Puddin Ridge Rd that was the only place to eat on training days. Used to comment all the time that Hardee's burgers were surprisingly good.
I'm going to NJ for the OSU Rutgers game in October and my brother and I are looking at places to eat. Driving from Columbus on the Friday, game is Saturday night, then driving back on Sunday. So probably grab dinner in Philly Friday and lunch/dinner in the area around RU then lunch somewhere in PA Sunday. Worth going to Steak Shack in Philly for dinner Friday/lunch Sunday?
Shake Shack is ok. It's nowhere near the price point imo, unless the Central Park ambiance comes with it.
Too bad Harvey's hasn't made it down south. The angus burgers are top-tier www.harveys.ca/eng/index.php
Just googled this, sounds awful for you and I'm skeptical how good it would be. Will mention to my brother
I'd go to that fat sandwich place in RU, maybe a legit Italian pork sandwich in Philly? It's good but it's not a "must eat". Plus they'll branch out in Ohio soon enough
Random aside bc of SugarShaun but, I feel like collectively TMB could make a solid CFB food map of places to go to by/near the major CFB fanbases
congrats y'all...this thread pushed me over the edge...I'm standing in in-n-out for the first time in my life. I vaguely remembered a phrase I read on here "animal style" and took my fries like that. this shit better be A1
Never seen GoodForAnother lose his composure like this. The awful food he ingests is beginning to take its toll.
Just made a post in the RU thread about this and sent an email to a friend who went to RU to ask about recommendations and see what he had to say about RUHungry and Shake Shack.
I recently had shake shack for the first time and was underwhelmed but might be due to high expectations. Need to try it again under different circumstances. That said right now if I had to choose I would do the fat sandwich just because a burger is a burger, while a heart attack on a roll is something you don't come across every day.
1) Only bad thing about Whataburger is that the Alabama locations don't have the Green Chile double or any of the TX market stuff with Hatches; 2) Raising Cane's is terrible, much worse than Zaxby's, and you should feel bad (and be forced to eat Guthrie's) if you disagree.
Wow that is a truly terrible opinion. (#2, I've never been in an area that had Whataburger so I have no opinion on the matter)
Bojangles is great and fuck anyone who says otherwise. Cajun filet biscuit with seasoned fries all. Fucking. Day.
zeberdee @anyoneelseinorfromphilly I have never had a phily cheesesteak, ever. If on my way we stop in Philly and rather than go to Shake Shack get cheesesteaks where would you recommend? I know of Pat and Geno's and my brother has had both but I've seen it said that other places are better. I checked r/Philadelphia on Reddit and saw Jim's got the most votes when one guy asked. Saw D'Alessandros and Chubbys and Johns get mentioned too. What do you say?
I'm not much a fan of onions or peppers and assumed those were always on them so was never interested. My brother said we should stop and get then since I've never had one
Jim's is my favorite followed by D'Alessandros. D'Alessandros is kind of out of the way if you're just visiting so I would say go to Jim's. also fwiw, I don't get peppers on my cheesesteaks but fried onions are a must for me. either way, if you get it with just steak and cheese nobody is going to look at you weird - that's pretty common. most people just say what kind of cheese they want and with or without onions when they order.
Yeah you go wiz wit on any cheesesteak....but I also love peppers and provolone.....and mushrooms. fuck, cheesesteaks are so good.
I feel like I am talking to someone that just came out of a time machine. How the fuck have you never had a cheese steak? Are you 9? Have you been locked up most of your life? I just don't get it
The answer to all those is no. I am 30 years old. My brother likes them quite a bit and has had many of them including getting them in Philadelphia. I have never been to Philadelphia where I'd feel more inclined to order one and everywhere I've noticed them on the menu includes peppers and onions so it didn't appeal to me because I don't like those. I go with something I don't have to ask them to remove items.
There isn't. Just that if there is something I want that I wouldn't need to adjust the order I'm just more inclined to get that. It's honestly something I've just never thought "Hey, I want to try that" and other things sound better.
