I think it tells us that, for all of Texas' problems the last decade, it would be insane for a coordinator (even one about to make $3.5M or whatever next year) to not take that job if offered. Not sure there's a reason to read more into it than that.

 

Disaster probably too strong of.a word. But he wasn't great. 8-4 was his best season

 

The end of USC certainly was but that is completely inaccurate characterization of the job he did at U Dub
