Completely agree and I thought the same way until I started talking to parents with kids. Things get a little complicated once they hit the 12 year old mark, especially with girls.
I have a 5 year old and she's had one in her backpack for daycare since she was 2. Google's Family Link allows me to monitor literally everything so it's no different than her having a tablet. Now texting as she gets older will be an obstacle but it's something we'll talk about as she grows up.
Having a daughter would still make me more apprehensive than a son but the gap has narrowed a bit over the last year with all the Andrew Tate style misogyny. I know I would handle having a son get into that very poorly.
Don’t have kids but from what I’ve seen 12-13 is when you start to see them but with strict parental controls and almost an ability to see where they are and access to texts.
Yea I created a gmail for her probably the same week she was born. It's her first/middle/last name. At some point I added her to our family google home so now if she tries to download anything to her tablets or phone I get a notification and I have to approve it. All of that parental control is already built into the software. The people in Alabama are just posturing for some media coverage. They aren't accomplishing anything that can't be done already.
the belief that the kids won't figure out the work around to find porn is redic The "adults," myself included, can't keep up with them and don't understand the tech. Today's example is Texas A&M: Professor Fails Students After ChatGPT Falsely Accused Them Of Cheating A college professor at Texas A&M reportedly failed half of his class after accusing them of cheating. Reddit user DearKick shared a screenshot of an email their fiancee received from their professor, accusing them of using OpenAI's ChatGPT to write their papers. Spoiler "In grading your last three assignments I have opened my own account for Chat GTP [SIC]. I copy and paste your responses in this account and Chat GTP will tell me if the program generated the content," Dr. Jared Mumm wrote. He then informed them that the AI claimed it wrote their papers and gave them a zero. "I put everyone's last three assignments through two separate times and if they were both claimed by Chat GTP you received a 0." He offered to let students rewrite the papers, but many claimed they did not cheat and even showed time-stamped proof of their work in Google Docs. In a follow-up post, DearKick explained that half of the class had been accused of cheating and that their diplomas were on hold while the school investigated the claims. According to Business Insider, ChatGPT isn't capable of detecting whether or a paper was written by artificial intelligence. While there are some programs that can do that, Dr. Mumm did not use them. PC Magazine decided to test ChatGPT and inputted articles snippets written by its editors and asked the AI chatbot if they were written by a human or an AI. "ChatGPT erroneously said it had written the passage. In addition, the AI program has limited memory, along with no capability to recall conversation histories from other users," Michael Kan of PCMag.com explained. In a statement to PCMag.com, Texas A&M said that none of the students failed the class. While their diplomas were still being held, they were all allowed to graduate with their classmates. "No students failed the class or were barred from graduating as a result of this issue," the school said. "The professor is working with the students to determine whether AI was used to write their assignments and, if so, at what level." OpenAi is aware of concerns that its chatbot can be used by students to cheat on their assignments and is working on a solution that would allow the chatbot to detect AI-generated text.
She was nervous about her first day at school bc she stayed home until she was 2. I gave it to her and told her she could call if she got upset and needed me. She never called.
I went to Auburn and yeah this motherfucker is embarrassing. Knew he’d win the Senate seat immediately. The only thing Alabama fans hate more than Auburn fans is a liberal. cool that we have a slightly rapey, Jesus freak as our HC now
respect the Chiz and his SoFlo windbreaker style. At least he isn’t calling for an end to democratic elections.
Man, feel bad for those kids getting screwed like that while they're trying to graduate. That story hits a little close to home. My last semester i had a crazy professor in a core class where your grade was just made up of a midterm and then final project. He gave me a 100 out of 100 on the midterm and then graduation week I get a 20 out of 100 on a final project because (after repeated questioning by me) he just "didn't think it was very good". Went straight to the Dean's office to plead my case and there were like 4 other guys from my class already waiting to talk to him too. Was a stressful couple of days thinking the next 6 months of your life was on hold until I get the "Good News! I've decided to change your..." email from the professor.
I too had a pretty interesting final semester play out in college as well with my diploma being withheld from me for a few months. There is/was a small thread regarding the activities on here.
If this was in the Emmanuel Acho thread I’d be convinced he said this. Are Successories stores still a thing? I’d bed he stole it from there
Outside of being completely wrong, that's hilarious. I'm pretty sure Chiz was big on Energy Vampires after the 2010 season.
I like Chiz as an in studio analyst. You can tell he actually puts in the work, especially when it comes to being knowledgeable about teams that don’t get the attention of your Georgia’s and Alabama’s.
I’d only be putting myself and fellow South Carolina fans down if I entertained the delusion that the Gamecocks are anywhere near the status of Bama, Georgia and Houston Cougars in the college football landscape.
He really is a great studio guy, he’s a football genius and great at communicating about it, he just sucked at actually being in charge of the whole program.
I did medical sales for a year covering Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. States that refuse to expand Medicaid and will have hospitals continually die in rural areas because Republicans won’t expand Medicaid or fund them in general. Moral of the story don’t live in a rural area when you are old because those hospitals are dying.
