my point was the margin that will go Jones to whoever wins GOP wise in '20 because of the Kavanaugh vote and wouldn't have shifted otherwise is going to be a fraction of a percent at best(being generous) vs the impact of Presidential year turnout and straight ticket voting
I agree the POTUS has the way bigger impact. My poorly explained point was: IF it was Moore vs Jones, there are a lot of more moderate conservatives who voted for Jones because they thought they could live with a “conservative” Democrat that would vote like Joe Manchin. They don’t believe Jones has been that (not saying I agree with the sentiment, just what I’ve gathered) so lots of otherwise Republicans who voted for Jones in Round 1 would not vote Jones again over Moore in Round 2. If it were a closer than expected race that could end up costing him.
Kavanaugh is a piece of shit political operative at best and a rapist at worst. He has no place on the nation’s highest court. Anyone upset that a senator voted against him is a lost cause.
