Interesting bit is that a place that maynard frequents (Millie’s) has a bfast dish named after him. Or used to
I put Rosetta Stoned on the playlist tonight just because (it's playing right now, obviously) and honestly, I've never really thought too much about it, but I feel like this may actually be my favorite Tool song *for a touch of context, Tool's '07 Bonnaroo show is what made me a fan (I did expect to become one walking in though), and I vividly remember losing my shit to this song, also to Wings for Marie, which is probably why I hold 10,000 Days in such high esteem* that's it that's the end of my unpopular opinion Stinkfist was the other standout btw
Did they open with Jambi that show? Not sure how anyone who moderately enjoys rock could walk away not blown out of their own fucking skin after that alone. Then agreed and Wings and RS. Thread makes me so happy and depressed. Only physical music I still have on a hard drive so I can listen to them on the phone/PC. There is no album.
apparently we even got the full Maynard experience and the show got cut a tad short due to him being annoyed by something we did

Rosetta is my favorite from that record. Ticks & Leeches is rarely played live bc Maynard can’t do the screams without destroying his voice.
Ænema is my #1, always and forever. Also, wrt Sober, I don't hate it as much as others here seem to. It isn't one of their best songs or anything, but I still enjoy it when I hear it. I also got into Tool kinda late in the game (2005ish), so it might just be a case of me not hearing it a million times.
Lotta weird opinions itt. Fwiw, the only correct answer to their best album is lateralus in the fibonacci sequence. I've posted it bf but worth a repost.
Bought Undertow when it came out and had to hide the cd jacket from my parents. Have always liked that song because it was the first Tool song I ever heard.
I feel like something like that would be super awkward. The musician is sitting there waiting to see everyone's reactions. What if it's mediocre? I'm thinking of the scene in Some Kind of Monster where Metallica's manager is blowing smoke up the band's ass about St. Anger while the band watches him listen to their album
It's one thing to blow smoke up their asses face to face, it's another to go out of your way to praise it on social media. It's no surprise that people who already like their music are enjoying it. Whether it's actually good remains to be seen.
After some additional drunken review this evening, I have come to the conclusion that "Jerk Off" should be moved above "Opiate." Additionally, "Schism" should be moved below "Crawl Away." Thank you. Also, I think I've posted this picture before, but in case anybody in the world hasn't seen it, here's a picture of teenage Tom Morello and Adam Jones hanging: Spoiler Here's them playing together as kids: Spoiler Here's Tom in the crowd at an early Tool show: Spoiler
Someone told me once that there’s a right and wrong. Punishment was cure for those who dare to cross the line, but it must not be true for jerkoffs just like you
it's funny because I was trying to remember what song those lyrics were from (I'm not mr hardcore Tool fan my condolences) but it turned out I put it on the playlist in live form and I had a solid eureka moment when that line came up talk about the definition of irony seriously I'm being serious here
Tool confirmed in Maine right now mastering new album. Puts it on a track for release in June. Really.
Speculation that it may actually be done and those photos were from while they were there/leaving. Which makes sense if you consider the way they do things and not wanting to announce to everyone when/where you're going to be. Regardless, mastering only takes a week - 10 days tops so hopefully we'll something more concrete before the end of the month.
Turns out that's exactly the case and now, some 13 years after 10000 Days, the new Tool album is officially finished. Almost surreal.
