    Just saw an episode of Kristen Kish’s show restaurants from the edge of the world and it was really good!

    That was awesome. The mise challenge wasn’t an elimination and just formed the ingredients

    thought that was one of the coolest episodes ever.

    The only thing that I thought could screw it up was just everyone not being on the same page. But they had probably the top 3 chefs

    Nicole seems like a nice person but always felt out of here League. Maybe that’s the wrong read but never felt like a real threat so I’m not surprised.

    I did think that Tom might go home bc he just screwed up so much. Feel like he would have been either executive chef or front of house in a normal restaurant wars and would have for sure going home

    She always seems like a nice person until any pressure is applied and then she seems to get pretty rude.

    Any thoughts on taking front of house out of restaurant wars? I know there had been a lot of punditry about it after it costing great chefs a few times in recent seasons.

    At the same time it seems like a pretty critical part of you know, a restaurant.

    It made me kinda curious about whether chefs in other countries have the same kind of business responsibilities as US based chefs, but not curious enough to do any research about it. It seemed like the French chef got boned by a complete lack of familiarity with the format of the show - something about getting a lot more cook time in Top Chef: France - and I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

    I think it should absolutely be a part of Restaurant Wars but I’m not too bummed about it being missing from this particular version.

    I think they need to bring it back for regular top chef seasons. But I liked the move for this season (and others like it, in the future).

    I havent listened to this weeks, but pack your knives podcast supposedly alludes to editing cutting out a lot of the restaurant wars. And you can kinda tell they did at judges table when they asked who was tasked with what and seemed to suggest there was more to it.

    It was so oddly edited I couldn't get my bearings on how any of it actually went.

    Don't think it would have ended up mattering but the other team or producers really should have picked up the cauliflower.

    I mean let's be honest, that wasn't *really* Restaurant Wars at all. It was a standard team competition with a little bit of "have a concept" thrown in. No front of house, no design elements, no executive chef defined.

    Part of it was probably trying to even it up for the international aspects, but I do wonder if the show producers have figured out that line cooks are basically safe in Restaurant Wars. Pack Your Knives looked at the stats and executive chef or front of house go home pretty much every single time.

    Yeah didn't really think about it but they said we're sending the worse dish home. So it was a normal challenge with some theming.
    Lame.

    That was such a tough challenge

    With all this talent, seeing it narrow down week by week is incredible. Like, it’s easy betting to assume Tom and Gabri are next to go…

    couldn’t stand her in Kentucky, she does seem more likable here

    I also like Tom, I just don’t want either half of my favorite couple on tv sent home

    my opinion of Sara this season is a 180 from her first season

    she never stood out to me other than talking about Kentucky. Seemed competent but not refined. London its just a much higher level plus she comes off as a really quality person. Just seems to be consistently executing. Good on Bravo accommodating her motherhood arrangement.

    Yeah, she’s been maybe the most likable person this season and putting out quality food. She was awesome with a long form interview on Pack Your Knives, too.

    Tobacco Dock is a cool location. Like a bunch of refurbished warehouses. Figured they would go there with how up and coming it is. Watched the last rugby world cup there on a rooftop.

    Tom and Gabri have not been Top 4 chefs over the totality of the season. Amazing how they have skirted by so hope neither are in the Final. Hoping for budda, ali, and the last chance winner to make it to Paris.
