I cannot believe he’s still there. Another lackluster challenge. Boiled fish doesn’t have to be a challenge just because it’s a local tradition
Soo's dish must've been really bad for them to forget about his quickfire dish, and Manny being on the bottom in both challenges.
they did a poor job casting (which imo they deserve a pass as the franchise has generally nailed it over 20 years) but for sure some of the format is on them Season has just been over the top as a Wisconsin tourist bureau ad. Which I guess Kentucky was too. This contest should culminate as the season goes along towards more fine dining; instead we are final 6 and boiling fish. Thats local content that should have come early early on. Ringers The Watch spent 20 minutes on top chef and they nailed a lot of the failures this year. Its now that LCK is more important than the Quickfires. I do wonder if Gail gets exposed as not bringing 'enough' now without Padma's shadow. Kish did a good job, but she is not a towering figure.
Shouldn’t matter. At least Soo’s had some effort and took some risks, he also did well in the quick fire. Manny had white rice guacamole and store bought chips and made an aguachile with wagyu lol
Doing a non seafood aguachile deserves elimination But failing to cook steak properly is auto elimination
Not only boiled fish but also making the challenge that someone else they just met had to shop for them. That just seemed like an early season challenge. Not one for the top 6
Our guy Torch tossing jugs of kerosene on a fire only for it to blow all the smoke back into the contestants tents was a lot
they should have made the contestants throw their own kerosene. Would have been the only thing that may have saved this season.
One of those throws got super close to one of those wooden picnic tables. I'm with Dan on the fish boil tradition. Nothing about salted cod, potatoes, and corn does anything for me. I didn't mind Hall of Famers shopping for them, but it didn't mix well for this challenge.
That steak and egg dish must have been awful. Bartolotta said it smelled terrible and Gail said it was the worst dish she’s ever had on TC
that episode was a great summation of how weak this season has been like, Idk who I would even pick to be sous chef. "Manny? I'll just do it myself"
amanda seems like an obvious choice for a sous to me, she's got good skills she just did some weird shit.
Kinda confused by Danny over Dan. Both had a great dish and Danny's other dish was clearly way worse than Dan's. But that is the 3 that should be in the finale.
relative to the season, that was a pretty good execution. Savannah obv has the most regrets. Manny almost nearly cost Danny the title.
I like Dan but if he won with a relatively straight forward tuna tartare dish in a Top Chef finale... Manny undercooking lobster after getting the cook wrong on proteins all season was too on the nose, not sure why Danny picked him aside from they seemed like good friends
I enjoyed the finale. Had some feels when Kristen spoke. Not my favorite season but it had moments. Probably would have cried like a baby if Dan pulled it off despite his disease.
Based on course by course feedback I'm again confused by Danny over Dan but actually a good finale. Kristen is better than Padma.
It was a good interview I thought though. Some good insights and behind the scenes stuff. They definitely didn’t ask any hard questions after criticizing the season throughout
