Nkoudou what a ball. Goalie totally should have come got it but who cares. That’s a huge two extra points.
Just another body in the midfield would be nice but I’m sure we’ll do nothing. If I was Poch though I’d tell Levy if you don’t do anything this month I’m out.
I’ve only been a Spurs supporter for a few years but this has to be Peak Eriksen, no? He’s been brilliant
Peak Eriksen was scoring FK's, I think. I think he was as good at passing then as now. Didn't clear the wall on one well positioned FK today that made me raise an eyebrow. I think if he signed the contract that he would have probably cleared the wall better.
Well we wouldn’t be in this situation if we added literally anyone the in the summer. That’s on Levy and if he loses Poch because of his cheapness then he should also lose his job.
Eh come on that's absurd and you either know it is or you drool in your wheaties in the morning. That's far too black and white. Why would Poche still be in at Spurs if Levy put up a block to signing anyone? You're drawing the narrative you want because Spurs don't have Qatari or Gazprom money. They're building a billion dollar stadium in London. Everton have been talking about a new stadium for 20 years. West Ham jumped at the London Stadium because that was their shot. Hell Spurs tried desperately to get there as well. Look at Chelsea, they've been talking about a new stadium for years and shelved it this year because it was too many hurdles. Poche is awesome, but this is more than just him. This thing has been going on for 20 years to make Spurs a team that is relevant in the premier league and not just another West Ham.
That’s just as black and white as you accuse him of being. Don’t try to frame this as either we spend hundreds of millions of pounds like City/PSG or we don’t spend anything. There’s a middle ground there that we can operate in. To not buy a central midfielder last summer was outright negligence by Levy.
If I was Poch (taking away my bias as a spurs fan) I’d probably go to United. They’ve got a very talented core of young English players and also some great young foreign players. It’s a team without a real identity right now and he can mould them to what he wants. It’s very similar to what he’s got at Spurs, but the difference is their ownership group is willing to make the necessary investments to win things whereas our ownership group is content to go an entire year without strengthening the squad at all.
It took Arsenal years to recover in the transfer market because of the Emirates. The stadium has obviously influenced our spending, but Poch is also notoriously picky in who/what he wants, and whose to say that was available for a non-astronomical fee? The next 5-6 weeks are our season. Time to figure out what kind of character we truly possess.
Just watched the game - Llorente can’t be used as a starter anymore - Fuck Mitrovic - Fuck Pawson - I wish Danny could still handle a high workload - Lamela has to be better while everyone else is out. Much better - Getting Dier back is huge all things considered
What a moment for Winksy. I was very down on him the past few weeks because he’s been so hesitant to do anything other than pass sideways or backwards, and had frankly looked out of his league at times. Hopefully this gives him the confidence to play like we all know he can.
I hope South Korea loses asap in whatever bullshit tourney they're in right now. Get Son back, get Lucas healthy and then just try to get through February. Hopefully Harry lets Dele use some of his HGH so they both come back sooner then expected.
Yeah I assume they'll make the final as the Asian region doesn't have many good teams. But after rooting for them already once this year I'm ready for them to bow out early.
It was at least good to hear that everyone else (Lucas, Sissoko and Wanyama) is back in training. This next month and a half is going to be a struggle.
Y'all ready? Lucas not fit enough to start is my guess, and regular fullback rotation. Beefy midfield with Dier/Sissoko (praise be our medical staff for getting him back).
We're going to play for 0-0 until Chelsea score a goal. At least Lucas is fit enough to come off the bench if we need him.
Oh my god, watch that replay, where is Eric Dier? Jogging lazily back from his foul. At like 10% speed, I'm not kidding.
