Understood, still feel fortunate to have won the group and matched up with a good squad over finishing 2nd and landing what most consider to be the favorite to win the whole damn thing. We can beat Juve
Fucking typical? We got Barcelona in back to back years just a few years ago in 13-14 and 14-15. Last year had Monaco
Harry has scored 33 league goals in 32 matches in 2017. Swansea and Burnley have each scored 33, Palace have scored 31, and WBA have scored 30. Across Europe, only Messi (38 in 35) and Cavani (34 in 35) have scored more. 4 remaining fixtures in the year, and Harry needs 4 goals to set the EPL record for most in a calendar year.
Win today hopefully gets us back in top 4. I assume we’ll rest a few guys for City, and Jan is on 4 yellows so maybe we hold him out, too. Hoping Lamela gets his first start and we play Davies/Tripps and save Serge/Danny for City’s speed and press.
Really don’t like playing Jan today, and the Davies/Trippier pairing is going to get destroyed vs City. Sigh.
Poch clearly rates Davies/Trippier higher then Rose/Aurier. Can't really argue with him right now based on this years form. Rose still isn't back to 100% and Aurier hasn't looked great in EPL play, he's played much better in the champions league. My hope is that in the second half of the year Rose gets back to 100% and Aurier gets accustomed to the EPL so they can become our first choice fb's. Our ceiling with them is much higher then with Davies/Trippier.
Didn't seem like we played great today (couldn't watch) but we got the six points we needed from the last two games.
Was out of town for the past two matches but I'm back in the saddle for this top four tilt. This match promises to be entertaining at the very least. If we utilize the approach we used vs. both Dortmund and Madrid in our home legs I think we have a decent shot at getting something from this match. Soak up some pressure, then counter quickly with Sonny/Kane.
From what little I've been able to see on my phone up to this point, they've been in our half for like 80% of the game. Now sitting down in front of the tv and hoping we see some progress in the second half. COYS!
Not that it would have made a difference but Poch was way too slow to make his subs. He needed to make them when it was still 1-0. God we really need to get Wanyama and Toby back. At least Sanchez is back next next and it sounds like Wanyama should be coming back somewhat soon. No Toby until February though and that's if he doesn't have any setbacks.
yes, he played well today. so did aurier imo. (needs to get the bulk of the starts at rb at least atmo)
Rose tries to give it right back haha. But a fuckin great run from Danny before that though to set up that fk that Harry scored on.
Seems like it was about this time last year when Dele really started pouring in the goals. Hopefully that’s going to repeat itself again.
Sometimes I feel like he struggles with the routine saves/clearances much more than he does with extraordinary.
Son off for Lamela. This kid absolutely plays balls to the wall every game and had many great contributions today. I love Son as much or more than Kane, fine I said it.
Dele, gotta make a pass, man. Kane intentionally lagging behind to the top of the box would have been ideal.
