Pretty much a must win if we want any chance at winning the group.

Lucas and Ndombele in the starting lineup. Is this a back 3 or is Vert going to be the RB?

Sanchez RB IMO. I was thinking whether we would go back three since Danny and Serge were not on the trip. Perhaps we start in a back 4 and depending upon circumstance switch to 3.

my guess is if we fall behind or decide to go for a win late int he game when we are even then we pull Davies go three in the back and add an attacking player.

    It was Arsenal.

Much rather have Toby or Dier at right back. They’ve both looked serviceable there in the past.

I'm sorry, I just don't see it with Sanchez and I don't know why he gets so many minutes. Dangerous balls into the box and pacey runs by Aurier on Saturday and he doesn't even make the trip to this match.

Poch seems to love rotating fullbacks. With KWP just back from injury, i’d imagine he doesn’t want to rush him back. Potentially the same with Aurier and resting him for Leicester away.

We should handle Olympiakos without them, so I get it, but it’s no less frustrating.

I’ve been furtively watching it on my phone during this boring training session. They are operating as well or better than us. Early chances on goal. Think we’ve grown into the game but that late goal was just Davies coping poorly, leaving Vert to have to step forward, and then Davies didn’t track the give and go guy.

Sanchez is so out of place at FB, that is just terrible from Poch playing him there. And sadly he isn't much worse then Davies. God our FB's are trash. Real smart not addressing that in the off season.

Ok, that was just an awful performance. dele is a shell, eriksen cant hold onto the ball, sanchez should not be at RB under any circumstance. We are playing with one leg going forward when he is there. IO don't blame him. I just want to understand why Serge wasn't available, and why go 4 in the back if he isn't. Sanchez did nothing for us.

Game obviously didn’t play out like we would have liked, especially after being up 2-0 after 30 minutes, but I’m not going to freak out. We obviously rested some key players for Leicester, which in the grand scheme of things is a much bigger game. The group is still going to come down to our two matches with Bayern.

Or, if we took care of business against our “lower” opponents, we’d have 12 points without any positive Bayern results and their max each would be 6 points. In an ideal world. I’m not freaking out either but it’s obviously a lost opportunity.

Advancing out of the group almost always come down to taking care of business at home. I’m not going to complain too much about a point when we were fairly lucky to get away with that. The trip to Belgrade is going to be similar. These aren’t great teams but they’re very tough away legs. Survive and advance.

I sorta disagree with Dele> thought he played well enough.

Eriksen made some crucial mistakes, particularly on that penalty.

And yeah, Sanchez, who, for once didn't have any major/obvious defensive blunders that I can think of (unlike our other FB) does absolutely nothing on attack, and, as you state, it just hobbles the team moving forward.

One other note... and, what do I know but.... maybe not look for the long pass on breaks so often. There will be no one marking within like 20 meters of the ball and Winks (or someone) is trying to hit Kane over the top with a ball that Kane is never going to be able to track down.

Yes, I am not concerned with the draw in terms of its impact on advancement. The bigger issue for me is overall form and that we can not string together a meaningful stretch of quality play from week to week. Frankly if we can't do that, we won't be going anywhere in any competition. For me it's about form and cohesion, both of which are just not there and haven't been since early last winter when Kane got hurt the first time. Strategically a draw on the road against any of these teams is fine.
