My 3 year old is literal best friends with our next door neighbor kid who is trans. When we first met him, I didn't think anything of the fact that he had a girl's name nor bothered to seek confirmation that "he's a girl that wants to be a boy" because it doesn't fucking matter. Kid is like 7 or 8 and my 3 year old thinks he's the coolest kid around. Fuck anyone trying to demonize these kids.
The Owl House. If you’re looking for a show that shows a ton of LGBTQIA+ characters in a positive light for your kids, this shit is the shit.
The newest Gundam anime (that’s actually insanely good if you’re into anime) has a full on lesbian couple as their main leads and normalizes bisexuality in the first episode pretty much saying anyone who has an issue with is a prude and backwoods Which if you know the history of Gundam protagonists it’s pretty surprising
Apparently she was great in her stage show "The Prince". She was in a show called Django over here but it's on a premium channel I don't get.
Going back through Kill James Bond episodes to try to figure out when she was filming. Cuz I think they've already finished filming now. Maybe February? She missed an episode on "Dome Leave" that month.
Think they changed from calling them actor/actress to just calling them all actors. I don't know why or why I know that
Apparently the word "actress" was originally used for "female actors who are sexually promiscuous" and is just one of many words that are needlessly gendered to show it s a woman with girl boobs doing it. See also Stewardess becoming flight attendent, waiter/waitress becoming "server", headmaster/headmistress becoming headteacher, barman/barmaid becoming bartender, etc.
That said, MANY women in theater/film still prefer the term actress, so it's very much a personal choice.
30 years ago when I was working for the studios and my aunt was a casting director, they still used "ingenue"
probably because it's an incredibly popular My Chemical Romance song that they just changed the lyrics to.
I think it's more like, the likelihood that those kids are making original music good enough to be listened to hundreds of millions of times on YouTube alone for a TikTok vid is very slim. also changing lyrics to popular songs is a popular social media trope.
tbh i probably never come out if it’s not for the pandemic having me working remote and locking me inside hell yeah charles. i want to dislike him but i just cannot.
Has anyone seen Casa Susanna? I watched it last night. I thought it was a very poignant presentation of gender nonconformity in the 1950s-60s. It’s focus is a community of cross-dressers (their term from that era), but some of them chose to transition and you hear from them. I found it very enlightening. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/casa-susanna/
