Being hugged by Chewbacca seems like a very cozy experience
My 3 year old is literal best friends with our next door neighbor kid who is trans. When we first met him, I didn't think anything of the fact that he had a girl's name nor bothered to seek confirmation that "he's a girl that wants to be a boy" because it doesn't fucking matter. Kid is like 7 or 8 and my 3 year old thinks he's the coolest kid around.
Fuck anyone trying to demonize these kids.
Watching this through again and I love these characters so damn much.
What show is this?
The Owl House. If you’re looking for a show that shows a ton of LGBTQIA+ characters in a positive light for your kids, this shit is the shit.
Don't have kids, but was just curious.
Seasons 1 and 2 are. Season 3 i think is on Disney Channel YouTube right now
The Court saw right through the State’s “experts”.
The newest Gundam anime (that’s actually insanely good if you’re into anime) has a full on lesbian couple as their main leads and normalizes bisexuality in the first episode pretty much saying anyone who has an issue with is a prude and backwoods
Which if you know the history of Gundam protagonists it’s pretty surprising
PhilosophyTube now a star
Apparently she was great in her stage show "The Prince". She was in a show called Django over here but it's on a premium channel I don't get.
Wow had no idea Abigail was in that show. Heard she killed it in the prince her show on nebula tho
Going back through Kill James Bond episodes to try to figure out when she was filming. Cuz I think they've already finished filming now.
Maybe February? She missed an episode on "Dome Leave" that month.
The use of actor confused me. Wouldn't she be an actress?
I'm sure chuds will boycott this too.
Think they changed from calling them actor/actress to just calling them all actors. I don't know why or why I know that
Got it. I guess actor is gender neutral now?
Apparently the word "actress" was originally used for "female actors who are sexually promiscuous" and is just one of many words that are needlessly gendered to show it s a woman with girl boobs doing it. See also Stewardess becoming flight attendent, waiter/waitress becoming "server", headmaster/headmistress becoming headteacher, barman/barmaid becoming bartender, etc.
That said, MANY women in theater/film still prefer the term actress, so it's very much a personal choice.
30 years ago when I was working for the studios and my aunt was a casting director, they still used "ingenue"
I got ahead of this years ago by using the gender neutral "actron".
That’s legitimately good music. Gives me the early 2000s emo/punk vibes.
probably because it's an incredibly popular My Chemical Romance song that they just changed the lyrics to.
Lol I’m dumb.
Oh no trumy
They’re dressed as the band.
In my defense - was never a fan of that band. But maybe i should have been!
Never heard that song either. Don't feel bad.
Me neither, but that doesn't change my opinion of Truman
I think it's more like, the likelihood that those kids are making original music good enough to be listened to hundreds of millions of times on YouTube alone for a TikTok vid is very slim. also changing lyrics to popular songs is a popular social media trope.
Great article that aggregates a lot of well stated rebuttals to the fear mongering
I’m so shocked Tennessee wasn’t one of the states.
Oh way down south in the land of traitors
agreed but pretty fucking low bar
tbh i probably never come out if it’s not for the pandemic having me working remote and locking me inside
hell yeah charles. i want to dislike him but i just cannot.
Has anyone seen Casa Susanna? I watched it last night. I thought it was a very poignant presentation of gender nonconformity in the 1950s-60s. It’s focus is a community of cross-dressers (their term from that era), but some of them chose to transition and you hear from them. I found it very enlightening.
thanks for this! i haven't seen it before but it looks great.
